It was snowing so hard that day and the ground was COVERED in snow, I couldn’t even read it at first. The paper was soaking wet but it dried beautifully

I found this paper a couple of years back and forgot all about it. I found it again when cleaning the truck out.

weird writing found in a folded paper stuffed in a mattress. aged, stains in the creases, and impossible to just open the mattress randomly to put it in. can anyone decipher?

I was helping a friend (older lady) go through old books and paper and we came across this old document shes had in her family since the 60s. It’s about 400 years old, made of vellum and seems to describe an agreement between two brothers, the older indenturing the younger to work for his keep on their inherited family land. Hopefully I said that right!

Anyway here’s a short 50 second video I put together showing the document and my conservation efforts to get it ready for framing!
