RECOMMENDATIONS đ Seeking music producer - maybe Jacobâs student?
I just recently moved to Bloomington for grad school, and I am hoping to find someone who can help me produce some of my music. I figured maybe there were some students in the Jacobâs school who were interested in building a production portfolio, etc. If anyone knows the best way to find someone who might wanna work with me, or if anyone has any other recommendations, let me know!
Iâve heard that thereâs a mini recording studio in the public library, I also have some of my own equipment. Thanks!
EDIT to add:
Google AI says to
âSend an email to the Music Production program at musprod@iu.edu or the audio office at audio@iu.edu.
Ask if they can forward a brief project pitch or call-for-collaborators to students in the Audio Engineering and Sound Production or Creation and Production tracksâ
Not sure if people agree with this take lol

GREEK đ Social + Business Frat
I am thinking about rushing both a business and social frat and if I were to get into both, could I be in both at the same time? And also what does the time commitment and difficulty look like?

QUESTIONâ Removed Vending Machine - Biology
Hey all,
Just curious, does anyone know anything on why the vending machines at the Biology Building were taken out? Just seems like the amount of vending machines that actually work on campus are slimmer every year. Thanks. Also, any idea if they're planning to replace them or just leave it empty?

QUESTIONâ Pre optometry club
Does anyone know if the pre-optometry club is still active? They were not at the involvement fair and their last post on Instagram was in March. I am currently on the pre-optometry track and I feel every pre-health club is mainly premed.

LOOKING FOR FRIENDS đ Struggling to make friends
Hey everyone! My name is Nikil, Iâm an international student from India, and I am a freshman. My major is in business management and I stay at mcnutt.
Iâve been struggling to make friends who are also Indian and international students. There is not a single Indian in any of my classes and I feel quite isolated. Even in the dining hall, I only see people who already have friends and who are usually in their sophomore years or higher. I would just love to have someone to talk to, maybe walk together to class and in general, just to have someone to give me a reason to get out of my room. If anyone is interested, please reply or dm me privately. I am looking for a guy who is Indian and a freshman, those are my only requirements. Thank you so much in advance!

First time visiting Memorial
Been a passive IU fan for most of my life as my family is filled with alumni. But I gotta watch a game in person with Cig under the helm. Heading to Memorial for my first this weekend for North Tx. Any recommendations for game day activites? - food, tailgate spots, really anything in general I should bring or check out while Iâm there.

QUESTIONâ Should we create a Indiana University Discord?
Personally I think having a discord allows students to connect on more of an instantaneous level rather then having to create posts. If someone simply wanted to talk about music, or how their day went we would have a place for it. If enough of you guys are interested I could maybe start a unofficial one and potentially get approved. Just let me know what you think!

QUESTIONâ Parking at IMU?
Iâm coming down to visit my freshman daughter this coming weekend for the first time. I am staying at the Biddle Sep 4th and 5th. If ticket prices drop low enough, we may decide to go to the football game. Checkout at the hotel is at 12. Can I leave my car parked there for free until after the game? I know itâs a long walk to the stadium.
Is another option parking in CH at Briscoe since thatâs where my daughterâs dorm is and itâs free on weekends? I assume that will fill fast though. Thanks for any insight!

ACADEMICS đ Struggling in my CSCI-C 200 class need tips and tricks
hello everyone I am currently a sophomore at IU and I recently took on a data science minor as an epidemiology major and I have to take csci-c 200 as my first class for my minor. last year when making my schedule I was super excited and was not worried at all even though I have no programming experience bc the class is an intro class. so I have professor Hmeljak and based off of his rate my professor comments Iâm basically fucked. But I didnât want to judge him based off of those comments because most people in the comments ended the year with As and Bs. But last week was literally the first week and he got straight Into it and I was completely lost. like I kinda knew what was going on but also didnât itâs so weird. I definitely left the class more confused than I was before. I assumed he would teach us how to use python but nope he just kept goin over examples but also kept getting distracted. We canât have our computers in class so I couldnât follow along so I just tried my best to write things down. Labs havenât started yet and im told thatâs where you learn make stuff but all people Iâve talked to have experience in coding and programming languages but I donât. Iâm scared Iâm essentially going to have to teach myself coding but Iâm not confident in my ability to do so. So if anyone has any tips beyond going to office hours( they start next week and I will be going ) greatly appreciated

ACADEMICS đ IU students: Help us unlock the LeetCode student discount - we need 50 sign-ups!
Hey Hoosiers!
LeetCode is running its âBring LeetCode to Your Schoolâ event. If at least 50 students from IU sign up using their iu.edu email address, eligible students can unlock the school discount for LeetCode Premium.
Iâve already signed up, but we still need more IU students to reach the required number. This could be especially useful for anyone preparing for:
- Software engineering internships or full-time jobs
- Technical interviews
- Data structures and algorithms courses
- Coding assessments
You can register here:Â https://leetcode.com/student/?refer=ednum
Please make sure to use your IU email address so your registration counts toward our schoolâs total. Also, consider sharing this with friends in Luddy, CS, Data Science, Informatics, Engineering, or anyone else preparing for technical interviews.
Iâm not affiliated with LeetCode, just hoping we can get enough IU students together to unlock the discount for everyone. Thanks!
