Subreddit News Hi Nikki! Lets talk about the subreddit, spoilers, and how we navigate 3.0 as a community!
Hello!
With 3.0 approaching, the mod team has been talking about how we can make the subreddit a little safer for people who can’t immediately play through new story content, without completely shutting down discussion for everyone who can.
Before modding here, I helped run r/ProjectRunway, and one thing that worked really well for us was having a defined spoiler window after a new episode aired. For a few days, discussion was kept contained instead of asking people to dodge spoilers across the entire subreddit.
Infinity Nikki is obviously a very different community, so rather than just deciding what that should look like here, we want your opinions.
As a side note, we have added warning directly to the new-post/submission page reminding people about spoiler rules, and I'm working on an Automod reminder on new posts during major patch releases.
For the first week after a story patch, which approach would you prefer?
Megathread only
All discussion of the new story would be redirected to a pinned megathread for the first week. Other types of posts could continue normally.
Image posts only + story megathread
For the first week, new standalone submissions would be limited to image posts, while story discussion would stay in the pinned megathread. This would still allow outfits, photography, pulls, creations, screenshots, etc. while cutting down on story posts appearing in people's feeds.
Manual approval
All new submissions would temporarily require moderator approval. This gives us the most control over spoilers, but it also means posts could potentially sit for several hours before a moderator is available to approve them.
Keep things as they are
No special launch rules beyond our existing spoiler policies.
Regardless of which option we choose, we'd like to continue requiring spoiler-free titles. A spoiler tag doesn't do much good if the spoiler itself is sitting in the title.
This isn't about stopping anyone from discussing 3.0. We want people to be excited and talk about it, but we also want someone who's busy, taking their time, or simply can't play on launch day to still be able to open Reddit without having the story spoiled for them.
Please feel free to give your opinion in the comments below!

Subreddit News PSA posts showing cleavage isn’t against our rules
Please report actual NSFW posts or posts that break our rules. Reporting posts multiple times for showing cleavage or a revealing outfit will not get them taken down as they don’t break any rules

Discussion Once we unlock the final evo, alt forms should unlock for previous evos too.
Sometimes I’d love to have the alt form with the colors of previous evos, and I can’t quite get the same look with the final evo because it doesn’t dye the same. Maybe bring it up in the next survey?
I think it would motivate people to get the final evo, too. I don’t know much about creating assets, but surely it wouldn’t be hard for a company as large as INFOLD to implement, no?

Discussion Which outfit made you to want to pull for the final Evo for the first time?
For me it is a current 5*. I didn't expect to love it THAT much, when I saw the first preview video. And I usually don't really like alternative forms of the outfits. But this dress and this hairbow...are magnificent. And THE COLOR SCHEME... Oh man. I so regret now pulling for the lion outfit, cause I only liked it for the lion...
Well, at least I now know, what it means to really love the outfit and not just like it. Perhaps it will teach me how to save my pulls now and keep my gamble addiction on a tight leash. I now have a GOAL to save at least 180 pulls for the next Florabound rerun.

Discussion Enough is enough
I get that shroomlings are important to the ecosystem and shroomseras were raised in ignorance on purpose but please. A whole *year* of babysitting the mushrooms is too much.
I'm not against inhuman characters in general, I loved the piecey stories and liked the faewish sprites well enough. The shroomlings are just designed in a way I really dislike, I'd have been way more interested if they for example went really into the fungus aspect and had their culture be tied to decay and strangeness compared to humans instead of acting like a giant preschool with only Shroomkrates and 42 bringing hope for the future generations.
I know their naivety was also a plot device, but if their way of thinking was leaning more alien, they could still be used by Mothis in my opinion. Telling the shroomseras that the rules are the way they are because it's a titan city and this or that is important for the titan race to follow for example, or contorting things to seemingly conform to the shroomling way of thinking could work out just as well.

Media she haunts me everyday
i don’t usually go for evolutions cuz i prefer having different outfits in my inventory rather than five versions of the same one… the only times i do are when i’m extremely unlucky and the game forces me to go past 180 pulls, or for miracle/permanent banner outfits… but every banner that comes and goes, i always find myself thinking about this version of the dress… don’t care much for the other things though 😭 ugh, thinking about whether i should pop my cherry and go all in the next time she reruns, or keep collecting different outfits 😮💨

Misc Pixel Momo with perler beads 💕🩷
I saw this pink pixel art of Momo in the promotional image for the new paid makeup, and I just had to make it with Hama/Perler beads!!! 🩷🩷🩷 I had to improvise the shape so it’s not 100% accurate, but I think it looks pretty close!! 💖

Discussion Linlang fatigue
We haven’t even unlocked the Linlang region however it has been integrated into events and outfit sets almost non-stop since the game has launched. I get that infold is a Chinese company so leaning into more of their culture is to be expected, but wouldn’t it be akin to an American dressup game releasing cowboy outfits every other season? Don’t get me wrong I’ve enjoyed it, but the frequency is getting redundant and now I am starting to fear that LinLang might be the 3.0 region. The sudden surge in Linlang themed outfits completely out of left field is my biggest reason for thinking so, and during the 2.9 story quests Professor Adventura has you play an excavating mini game where you find 3 relics: a wish lantern (Florawish), a boneflower (Itzaland), and a paper umbrella (LinLang). It could just be my imagination running wild but it very much feels like an easter egg hinting at Linlang being the 3rd region and I don’t know if I could take it so early in the game knowing what other diverse regions are still locked out. While playing through 2.6-2.7 I convinced myself Whaleport was the next region, but we’re getting such a high volume of linlang themed outfits my hopes are quickly crumbling.
I thought they had also mentioned a 3.0 preview would be included at Gamescon, so I’ve been eagerly awaiting news but…. Seems to be crickets on that front?
Edit to add: coming out of 1.0, I was very excited for Cicia or Linlang to be the next regions, but I feel like Itzaland raised the bar so much higher than I expected that I am now craving more diverse terrains and aesthetics.
