Miscellaneous How should I put this away? (No lid)
Some time ago I was gifted a few puzzles one of them being this one (Tower of Babel, 5000 pieces). I put it away because I never intended to do it.
Sadly the lid ended up being soaked in wax because we didn't pay enough attention and stuff was just random put on top :/ I might give it away at some point (I don't know if there are pieces missing) but until then I'd like to store it safely.
Any recommendations?
I thought about putting it into a shoe carton but they usually have little openings or are build in a way that puzzle pieces can slip through.
Thanks for any help in advance!

Discussion Is flipping puzzle pieces over to look at the letters cheating?
Hi,
I was working on a puzzle at my University's library last week and I happened to flip a piece over and there were letters. I didn't know some puzzles had letters. The letters went from 'A' - 'F'. They indicated which pieces went where and even the direction of the piece. I used these letters to sort the pieces into piles based on what letter they had on their reverse size. I looked at the puzzle today and it was very nearly finished. I then used the letters of the remaining pieces to find their home in the near complete puzzles. I did this by flipping over already placed pieces and looking at what letter they were and then putting a matching piece there. I was wondering if this is considered cheating? I also didn't contribute a lot to this puzzle so even if it were cheating it didn't help much.

Help! Where to find cheap frames for puzzles?!
Ya’ll I need help!! I’ve just started getting into puzzling recently and I absolutely adore everything I make, but the issue is I’m having the hardest time finding cheap, simple frames so I can hang them up.
I’ve found some cheaper options at Walmart, but still $15+ to frame just one puzzle makes me sad 😭 do you guys have any cheap websites/places you know of to get any plain old frame? Flexible sizing is even better!

Puzzle Mat Sandwich
Does anybody know where I can find a puzzle mat where I can sandwich the puzzle between the top and bottom instead of rolling it?

Discussion Should I buy The Aeternus Aenigma?
Story short: I absolutely adore both the colourful and the monocrome Aeternus Aenigma puzzles from CMY and I would really love to do them.
The only problem: Holy hell are they expensive! I live in Europe and the double pack would cost me 85€, if bought separately 51€ each so 102€ in total. (+ perhaps duty, since CMY is based in Australia)
My questin is basically wether the quality is worth the price or not. On the pictures I've seen online the puzzles appear to be rather bumpy when done, but for this much money I would expect the quality to be on top:/
My most expensive 500 piece puzzle was for 25€, and I've bought a 9000 piece puzzle for 50€. Just for reference.
(Picture was taken from the internet)

Meu gato, Rudolph, invadiu a cena do crime e desmontou o quebra-cabeças duas vezes, me fazendo refazer todas as bordas (20% do quebra cabeça já montado).

Discussion Any tips for starting a small puzzle business? Would love to hear from someone who has dabbled in it.
I don’t have any artwork of my own yet (hoping to have one day) but have a few talented friends whose art I was hoping to showcase. But I am clueless about the process and common pitfalls of starting something like this. Any advice is welcome :) Also, I am based in Pune, India.

Puzzling Tips & Hacks tips on teaching a kid to puzzle
i hope its alright to post here
disclaimer that this is just what worked for me the several times ive taught tater tots how to puzzle. It might not work for you. There is no right or wrong way to teach a child puzzling. We’re just here to have fun. 💛
-im talking abt under 5 who have done a wooden shape puzzle at most.
-rectangle puzzles.
• its much easier for a kid to learn recognize a straight edge piece than the absence of ins and outs.
-dont recommend floor puzzle.
•in my expiration beginners do better when they can see and reach all the pieces easily. i love floor puzzles they are great especially for more than one kid.
-you will most likely have to teach them how to connect two pieces
•the go to move of toddlers is just slamming the piece in which wont work. trust me when i say its confusingly hard for them to learn
-really emphasize looking at the image at the edge of the pieces to find a match as opposed to playing ispy withe the image on the box
•again no wrong way to puzzle but as pieces get smaller and images more complex, one technique is gonna be more effective
-teach them to look for what isnt there
•when theres a empty spot help them figure out what piece to look for
-starting w the edge is always great.
•you gotta tell them what an edge is many times. you will also have to point out many times that an edge piece is on the edge
- be SO encouraging
•its hard for all kiddos but i can imagine that for a kid who grows up seeing their parents puzzle it could be a lil extra frustrating (my niece was feeling all defeated and said shell never be as me)
-let them find and connect as many pieces as they can but its helps morale to add a piece
-the juice is worth the squeeze
• remember puzzle competitions have a family category and play the long game. worked with one nanny kid for a year he went from struggling with a 24 to doing a 200 on his own. he had just turned 5
-if your kids dont clean up you lets be realistic
•id suggest magnetic puzzles. before you buy a cardboard or wooden jigsaw ask yourself how long will this have all its pieces? maybe get multiple cheaper ones? saying this bc ill ask and kids never want you to do a puzzle if it has a missing piece. this is not an attack i promise but only hit dogs holler

Discussion ISO rainbow gradient puzzle recs
Hi all! I’m looking for recs on rainbow gradient puzzles, preferably 500-1000 pieces. I’ve started to get back into puzzling lately and have really enjoyed puzzles like Galison’s rainbow marbles, popsicles, buttons and the Josie Lewis watercolor puzzles. Open to specific puzzle recs or brands/series of puzzles!

Discussion Puzzle Collecting Questions
Hello everyone! So I live in an apartment and love puzzles. We are currently collecting puzzles through thrift stores and sites since we can't hang up our actual painting. My upstairs neighbors are horrible and constantly make our furniture shake. My mom LOVES the Nene Thomas collection and I love the Cobble Hill dragons.
Now I know some puzzles are rarer than others and have had some success in places like Vinted and Facebook.
What is the most you would pay for a "rare" puzzle or just that you want in general? I think mine currently is 25 dollars. But most I want are 1000 pieces and I don't know if that's an equivalent trade? I am low on income but it's quite addicting isn't it?
Thoughts?

Discussion Sad to Take a Break From Puzzling
I had to put away my 750 piece Wysocki cat puzzle because my toddler keeps getting into it. I've sadly had to take a break from puzzling. Do any of you have the same problem? Any other moms with toddlers that actually manage to get some puzzling in? I do have a portable tray to build on, but I haven't been using it lately.
I saw some very lovely fall puzzles for sale but resisted buying them. Because who knows if I'll actually be able to build them.

Are there any tips or tricks to buying on Vinted?
I’m curious about buying on Vinted, but wondering if there is anything I should be aware of, or tips for buying. I know I want to consider price, seller reviews, item conditions and shipping costs. Anything else??

America 250th Celebration Puzzle by Eric Dowdle took weeks for shipping label to be created.
I just received an email saying that the shipping label has been made for a puzzle I ordered on August 7th. It’s hasn’t even shipped, just that the label was just now created. I live in Hawaii, so shipping will take about 4-5 weeks by boat. So, buyers beware.

Completed Pandora’s Gift - 1000 pieces
The frustration when you’ve opened a new puzzle from its plastic and put it all together to find a piece missing.
I’ve scoured the whole floor and in between couch cushions and nothing. My apartment isn’t big enough for this thing to stay hidden. I’m starting to think it was never there to begin with. :/

Upload or snap your own pics to create custom puzzles
Hey everyone,
I’ve been working on a new update for my app, PicDraw and just finished building a feature I’m really excited about: Custom Photo-to-Puzzle Generation.
Instead of just playing through pre-made levels, users can now snap a picture using their camera or upload an existing photo from their gallery, and the app automatically processes the image outlines/colors into a playable custom puzzle on the fly.
I wanted to make it super easy for people to turn memories, pets, or outdoor shots into quick interactive puzzles.
Check out the screen recording above..
I’d love to hear your thoughts or any feedback!
