My husband and I currently live in the Midlands and are looking to move back home in the next year or so.

I'm from Liverpool and met him 14 years ago when he came up to uni. I'm from Aigburth and absolutely adore the area and would love to move back to Aigburth but house prices are... Tough.

Ideally, we're looking for a 4 bed house that's either a new build or an older property that's been done to a modern standard.

Aigburth and Allerton are my dream locations but we can't afford any more than £450,000 which is already a huge amount.

Can anyone recommend some good areas to live in please? Must be South Liverpool that are on par or as close to similar areas (in terms of demographics) as Aigburth, Allerton and Woolton please?

I did mention Halewood to family but they said it can be a bit rough there?

I'm a woman, non white immigrant, and a first time buyer. Unfortunately with how the world is, I'm worried about getting taken advantage of when buying my first car. I've also read horror stories about women getting screwed over and I really want to avoid that. I live away from friends and family so I won't have anyone to come with me when buying.

I'm based around the Wavertree area but will happily travel.

Just changed jobs and work in Aintree. Also been living in Norris green for about 2 years.

The transport links to Aintree are horrendous but I used to bike to my old job that was 10 mins ride.

Never rode on the line before. Not sure if it's safe. Eg scallies and theives.

Definitely won't be riding it in the nights. But I'd prefer a 25 minute cycle ride vs over an hour on the bus/buses

I'm like 5 mins ride from the route. And makes it straight forward to get to Aintree.

Hi everyone. Does anyone know a place where I can go and look to see and buy a plastic garden shed? Doing a google and most shed suppliers only do timber and can only find plastic in your large hardware stores eg B&Q.

I am looking to join the JD Gym on Edge Lane and looking at reviews on Google the gym sounds dreadful and badly ran with bad equipment so I wanted to get advice from others who use it rather than relying on reviews. Does anyone on here use the Gym and how have you found it? Is the gym as bad as the reviews would make it out to be? Would you recommend it?

Hi all, does anyone know of a butcher or delicatessen, even a farm shop, near Liverpool that does a decent huntsmans pie? It's a pork pie topped with roast chicken and stuffing and it's bloody _luxe_. Only problem is the only place I know to get them from is Edwards in Conwy and that's a wee bit of a walk from here...

Asking everyone who's been buying property recently but EAs will be particularly helpful with satisfying my curiosity.

I keep reading all over Reddit that now is a great time to buy because houses are sitting on the market because people can't afford the high mortgage rates and there's uncertainty. The advice on general UK Reddits keeps being to under offer and people routinely brag about how much they saved, how they waited to make an offer, viewed several times etc.

I am a FTB in Liverpool and this has not been my experience at all. I've been looking at 2-3 beds in both south and North (L5 Vauxhall, L8, L7, 15,17,19,21,22,12). Budget is about £200k

The freehold properties I see in this band are continuously either in disrepair/with issues (not talking needing some paint and carpets, just generally visible painted over mould, broken fittings, blocked gutters, roof and damp issues) as they're being sold off by landlords or FTBs trying to upgrade after 5 years. Yet for every house there's a line of buyers and they seem to sell for 10-15k above asking. Even when I can see the seller is making 50% profit on what they bought 5 years ago.

Is it a bubble waiting to burst, should I just cap my search budget at £170k and always have 10-15k to offer over? Do I just accept that the property will need to be either run down or on a generally really bad street? Do I just offer on everything and hope something sticks?

I'm curious what the EA pov is - is the stock worse this year, is the market faster because there's not enough houses for all the buyers? How much more above asking is acceptable above asking (apparently £1-2k doesn't cut it)? Does every house go to best and final within 3-5 days?

I feel like I'm missing something or being incredibly naive but also curious what other people's impressions are.

Hi r/Liverpool, I’m Luke and I run a community called Too Young To Grieve.

After losing my dad when I was 21, one thing I found really difficult was how isolating grief could feel when most people around me hadn’t experienced anything similar.

That’s a big part of why we started bringing people together through really simple walks, jogs, coffees and other meet ups and this weekend we’re doing our first one in Liverpool led by Hayley & Jack.

The idea is pretty simple. We’ll meet up, go for a relaxed jog or walk and grab a coffee afterwards. You definitely don’t need to be a runner, walking the whole thing is absolutely fine.

We also try really hard to make these feel like a normal community rather than a heavy grief group.
People chat, have a laugh, get to know each other and talk about normal life. Sometimes grief comes up naturally, sometimes it doesn’t at all. The nice thing is just knowing the people around you understand that side of life without needing a big explanation.

There’s no pressure to share anything personal and most people actually come alone for their first one, so please don’t let not knowing anyone put you off.

We’re 18+, but otherwise there’s no upper limit. If you feel too young to be navigating grief and think this could help, you’re welcome 🤍

We’ve got our first Liverpool jog or walk & coffee happening this Sunday and would love to get a little community going.

We also have a community where people stay connected between meet ups too.

Essentially, I've found that job boards currently have quantity over quality, no information on the location of the jobs and send unrealistic job alerts. So I took it upon myself to create a newsletter that cuts through the noise and brings jobs from the city straight to your inbox every Monday morning.
