Question Under eye keeps caking :(

Post image
0 Upvotes

My under eyes keep caking, even after switching to a different undereye cream and swapping concealers. I only started having this issue maybe 2 months ago. I don’t have an issue w the rest of my face, the only part I struggle with is this.

Currently using tatcha eye cream, tarte color corrector (just a teeny bit), tower 28 concealer, and top it with charlotte tilbury pressed powder. I use a sponge to apply concealer and a brush to apply powder.

Question What do I do with my eyebrows?

Post image
0 Upvotes

I have super light eyebrows despite having dark hair. I have gone between using brunette/brown and taupe pencils, because I'm not sure if I should use lighter or darker based on my skin tone and hair color. What do you guys think/suggest? I need help, please!

I currently use NYX taupe pencil with ELF brown gel but, honestly, most days (like today) I don't do them at all because I feel defeated. I also like the ravie beauty pencil in brown/brunette, I think.

Discussion Guys, what the hell is anti-blush?

I’ve been seeing things pop up on my feed recently about this new blush trend called ā€œanti-blushā€ and my millennial ass is just confused.

I’ve seen the girlies mix their own by taking a bit of foundation, a bit of contour, and their favorite blush. Mixing it altogether gives you a muted version of your blush and gives that ā€œnaturalā€ or ā€œundetectableā€ blush look.

Part of me feels like this is new trend is going to start a movement against over blushing, but also, it’s gonna give these companies a new product to flood the markets with that we don’t need???

Any thoughts on this?

i’ve changed my aesthetic a lot in the past year (i still mourn the pink hair tho) šŸ˜–

products used in the second pic
-the ordinary redness solution
-supergloop SPF 40 tinted sunscreen
ulta beauty pop star lashes (brown)
sacheu brow and freckle stay in (i use the freckle side as bronzer #broke)
nyx graham cracker ink liner
l’orĆ©al matte lip gloss
i also was wearing a little bit of jergens face tanner!

overall advice for people looking to have a more youthful fun look is MOISTURIZER!!!! USE TONS OF IT!!! make sure if it’s SPF you also wash it off at the end of your day and apply non scented cera ve to ensure clogged pours don’t show

Question Is there any way to fix this ā€œlip fillerā€ issue?

Post image
136 Upvotes

I’ve never had lip filler but multiple people have insisted that not only have I had them filled, but the filler has migrated and that’s why my lips protrude like this (???)

It does make it difficult to choose a good lip liner shade but like is there any way to lessen the appearance of protruding lips or do I just have to work with it

TIA

Question What time do you guys get up in the morning to do your makeup?

I usually get up and do my makeup a good couple of hours before I actually have to get ready because I take so long when doing my makeup (I take an hour thanks to a great combination of Rheumatoid Arthritis and ADHD! :D)

Discussion Do you actually wait 15-20 min between sunscreen and makeup?

I do because I’m unemployed right now but am wondering if that’s going to be the case when I’m back working. It supposedly makes the sunscreen less effective if you don’t wait.

NGL I never in my life reapplied sunscreen after makeup unless I’m at the beach :(

Question Everyday look

Hello I’m in outdoor sales, I am in Georgia, I ise a skin tint/moisturizer, concealer, powdered foundation, loose powder on top of concealer, bronzer for contour, crĆØme blush and a blush powder to top it off… that’s not in order but those are the materials I use. This is after couple pictures of me after I’m off shift. I feel like my face is melted off and in the sun it’s falling flat. Any advice on what I can use to improve my natural look? I did one picture in the sun, the other indoors and another with no makeup

Question Nars Multiples in shade Swing

Post image
0 Upvotes

Swing from the nars multiples is literally my DREAM pink color. To me, it is the perfect balanced cool pink for light skinned people without being overly lilacy or having that bubblegum hue to it.

My concern is, would it be dry skin friendly given its powder finish. Would it emphasize texture or cling to dry patches once it settles?

If so, I would welcome any recommendations of blushes that have the same shade but are more forgiving with dry skin. 🩷

What is up with the lack of lipsticks from companies?

• Upvotes

I don't know why nobody is talking about this. We rightfully complain about products being reformulated and not being as good, the massive price increases and the lack of fun products. Why is nobody complaining about the fact that multiple companies are not currently selling LIPSTICK?!?!?! I was at Shoppers Drugmart today looking for lipstick. There wasn't much. I don't mean a bunch of lipstick was sold out. I mean lipstick was not part of the offerings. Essence is not selling lipstick. Annabelle is not selling lipstick. Revolution is not selling lipstick. Physican's Formula is not selling lipstick. I thibk Rimmel had a small selection. NYX is not selling lipstick. These companies are focusing on things like jelly glosses. Lipstick never stopped being popular. You're lucky if they have a bold liquid lipstick. WHERE IS THE LIPSTICK?!?!?! WTF?!?!?!

I've been searching all summer, I want to find a match to the 60s retro lip style I'm seeing here. Darker liner, but a light shade lipstick. Everything I keep finding isn't quite matching, wondering if anyone has reccomendations, or knows exactly what lip combo lana del rey is using in her ride music video

Question Looking for Mineral based products

My mom tries to be "low-tox" and since she has a harder time finding makeup products. Does anyone have any recommendations. She uses a Mineral Fusion 3-in-1 Color Stick in terracotta for blush and essence Lash Princess false lash effect waterproof mascara. She uses Maybelline Lasting fix as a setting spray so she's not totally against traditional products but she wants to mainly use natural and Mineral based products. In addition to this she is incredibly pale and has sensitive eyes. She tends to go on the lighter side but I would like to get her some things to use for special occasions. TIA

Discussion questions about cosmetic sunscreens

Entirely polite asking for your perspectives.

I'm a uni-aged teen and I do pretty light makeup (no foundation etc.) all things considered. A few years ago I began religiously wearing sunscreen after a summer back in my equatorial home country; I have really pale skin, burn pretty easily and have a history of some weird moles that don't promise a great relationship with UV light skin-cancer wise. Every day I squeeze out 2 teaspoons from my massive 400ml Nivea fast-absorbing protect + moisture 50 spf sunscreen; it works perfectly fine under makeup, though the amount that needs to be used adds up fast.

My questions are:

  1. Is it at all bothersome to y'all that most cosmetic sunscreens come in dinky little sizes?

  2. What in particular makes you use cosmetic sunscreens more often than regular non-cosmetic ones?

And this is borne out of genuine curiosity here. These sunscreens are dinkier than, like, a pickle.

(makeup that I’m currently using)
• what the fake lip plumper by essence
• on the glow blush stick by pixi

• naked skin by urban decay for contour
• telescopic mascara by L’Oreal Paris

Question Glossier Haloscope 3 yrs old

Thumbnail

I have come to realize they stopped selling the glossier Haloscope this year and i didn't even know. Im so sad. They are on ebay for $100. I have one still and I'm wondering if anyone has kept there's for a long time and what their experience has been. I wear makeup like once or twice a week and sometimes less. I wear it on a bare face with blush and lip product. Im a makeup minimalist.

I've had mine for 3 years.

Has anyone kept their haloscope highlighter stick for longer than the 6 months they recommend? If so for how long? Anyone who kept it a long time notice any changes that made it gross enough to throw away?

I recently sprayed it with alcohol and wiped it down with some fresh tp. I also took the first layer of tp and threw it out so any particles that may have landed on it from general bathroom use wasn't on the tp used to wipe it with.

I'm wondering if I should freeze it. I just love it and I tend to stick to what I know so I'm not wanting to change it. If anyone who is a die hard for this highlighter has any good dupes they could recommend that would also be appreciated. I also lean clean makeup and fragrance free.

Question HELP!!! Natural lashes droop down while false lashes go up?

Thumbnail
gallery
293 Upvotes

I recently started using strip lashes for the first time. This might be my fourth of fifth time putting them on. I am still a beginner at makeup.

My natural eyelashes naturally curve downwards as can be seen in the photo. I might have naturally ā€œheavyā€ lashes as they always tend to go down no matter how much mascara I apply? I can never achieve volumetric results.

In this photo, I applied tubing mascara, then applied my
false lashes, then applied more mascara to both multiple times. However, my natural lashes would not stop drooping down.

I have regular waterproof mascara, but I believe similar results still occur. I prefer not to use waterproof because it is hellish to remove.

Any advices? How is my falsies application?

I also notice that there is a bit of flesh colored space between my natural eyelashes and the falsies when I look straight-on ahead in the mirror. But can that even be avoided as falsies are placed above your lashes? Is eyeliner the answer?

Products:
She-glam lash lighter tubing mascara
Generic amazon false strip lashes
She-glam lash glue
