FOTD techno set look - my first time doing a dramatic eye šŸ‘ļøšŸ‘ļø

sorry for the silly third pic, wanted to include one with the eyes more visible bc i have hooded eyes (hence why i seldom do eye looks), so i had to settle for changing the frame of a live photo to where i blink šŸ™ˆ

i was in the dark the whole night (duh, it’s a techno set…), and i still don’t think i’ve ever gotten this many compliments on my makeup specifically as i did that night!!

FOTD My latest’s eyeshadow looks

I’ve been trying to reconnect with my passion for makeup lately so I’ve decided to try myself to create a different look every day.

A few years ago I absolutely loved doing my makeup and even creating my own looks but I went through a really difficult period of depression that made me stop doing the things I loved, one of those things was doing my makeup, first in a creative way then i stopped doing it at all.

A few weeks ago I finally found that inspiration and motivation again and decided to start over so I invested some money in buying new makeup palettes and getting back into creating.

I’m still starting out by looking for inspiration on pinterest, any feedback or recommendations are welcome.

PRODUCTS USED:

In the first picture i used: Life’s a drag color palette by Lunar Beauty X Manny Mua, shades pageant queen and kiki + liquid liners from amazon, i’m not sure the brand name + Tarte maneater mascara.

In the second picture i used: sheglam lots of lava palette shades abstract and pink clay, the liner is from the like chromatic zone in the shade vertigo + the glitter is from the deliplus mermaid palette + Tarte maneater mascara.

In the third picture I used: MAC art library palette + Blue mascara, i don’t have the shade names but you can tell exactly the ones i used by looking at the palette.

In the fourth picture i used: black and silver shadows from the MAC art library palette and color liners from amazon, the star and under eye glitter is from the deliplus mermaid palette + Tarte maneater mascara.

In the fifth picture I used: The sheglam lots of lava palette shades pink clay and deep thinker, the gold glitter is from the universe palette by deliplus shadow 05 + Tarte maneater mascara.

Discussion What to do with a too-dark highlighter?

Post image
304 Upvotes

Product: Flower Knows Little Angel Highlighter 02

Hi yall! I bought this particular product towards the beginning of my makeup journey. Unfortunately I couldn't swatch it as it's unavailable in stores near me and beginner-me obviously didn't know what they were looking for šŸ˜µā€šŸ’« either way, I have a too-dark highlight on my hands (quite literally)!

I'm hesitant to sell it as it's been used so many times (over 100), and I'm reluctant to deconstruct it because the embossing is gorgeous and still mostly intact. My only ideas are to turn it into a body glitter or use it as an eyeshadow, but neither of those seem like perfect solutions to me (it'd take forever to pan as an eyeshadow– it's 8g). I figured you all might have some ideas on what to do with it. TIA!

Question HELP!!! Natural lashes droop down while false lashes go up?

Thumbnail

I recently started using strip lashes for the first time. This might be my fourth of fifth time putting them on. I am still a beginner at makeup.

My natural eyelashes naturally curve downwards as can be seen in the photo. I might have naturally ā€œheavyā€ lashes as they always tend to go down no matter how much mascara I apply? I can never achieve volumetric results.

In this photo, I applied tubing mascara, then applied my
false lashes, then applied more mascara to both multiple times. However, my natural lashes would not stop drooping down.

I have regular waterproof mascara, but I believe similar results still occur. I prefer not to use waterproof because it is hellish to remove.

Any advices? How is my falsies application?

I also notice that there is a bit of flesh colored space between my natural eyelashes and the falsies when I look straight-on ahead in the mirror. But can that even be avoided as falsies are placed above your lashes? Is eyeliner the answer?

Products:
She-glam lash lighter tubing mascara
Generic amazon false strip lashes
She-glam lash glue

Question Is there any way to fix this ā€œlip fillerā€ issue?

Post image

I’ve never had lip filler but multiple people have insisted that not only have I had them filled, but the filler has migrated and that’s why my lips protrude like this (???)

It does make it difficult to choose a good lip liner shade but like is there any way to lessen the appearance of protruding lips or do I just have to work with it

TIA

  • Mid-range: Straddle the line between drugstore and high end. Ex. Urban Decay, Stila, Too Faced, Makeup Forever, MAC, Rare Beauty
  • High-end: Niche, unapologetically expensive, and have more limited distribution/retail presence than mass brands. Also associated with high end fashion brands. Ex. Tom Ford, Chanel, Dior, Giorgio Armani, Cle de Peau, Chantecaille

🫶proud of the final result improved my blending skills so much, but I wonder why no matter how much blush I add it doesn't show on the cam and it fades after one hour of applying it

Anyway hope y'all like this simple look

Very glad I decided to match my makeup with my wardrobe and went for cooler tones (I also gained like 20 pounds in between these thanks to anorexia recovery)

Current products:
- ELF Poreless Face Primer
- Collection Lasting Perfection Foundation (Fair Cool)
- Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer (Fair and Porcelain)
- W7 Set It Up Powder (Translucent)
- ABH Brow Pomade (Ebony)
- ELF Lash n Roll Mascara
- SHEGLAM Contour (Soft Tan)
- Collection Blush (Bashful)
- Collection Lipliner (Chai)
- Collection Butter Balm (Pink Frosting)
- W7 Matte Fixer Setting Spray

Eyeshadow is some unknown shit tbh

What’s one makeup product you always keep coming back to?

I’ve been trying out different makeup products lately, and I’m curious what everyone else keeps reaching for. šŸ’•

What’s one makeup product you’ve bought more than once because it genuinely works for you? It can be anything—foundation, concealer, blush, lipstick, mascara, etc.

I’d love to hear your recommendations, especially if it’s something affordable and easily available. 😊

I usually get up and do my makeup a good couple of hours before I actually have to get ready because I take so long when doing my makeup (I take an hour thanks to a great combination of Rheumatoid Arthritis and ADHD! :D)

Discussion Guys, what the hell is anti-blush?

I’ve been seeing things pop up on my feed recently about this new blush trend called ā€œanti-blushā€ and my millennial ass is just confused.

I’ve seen the girlies mix their own by taking a bit of foundation, a bit of contour, and their favorite blush. Mixing it altogether gives you a muted version of your blush and gives that ā€œnaturalā€ or ā€œundetectableā€ blush look.

Part of me feels like this is new trend is going to start a movement against over blushing, but also, it’s gonna give these companies a new product to flood the markets with that we don’t need???

Any thoughts on this?

Discussion Do you actually wait 15-20 min between sunscreen and makeup?

I do because I’m unemployed right now but am wondering if that’s going to be the case when I’m back working. It supposedly makes the sunscreen less effective if you don’t wait.

NGL I never in my life reapplied sunscreen after makeup unless I’m at the beach :(

Update!!! Thank you to all of you who offered advice! I’m really happy with this look. I can’t believe the difference! I skipped the shadow/eyeliner on the bottom, and used some highlighter on the inner corners and under the bottom lashes. I wasn’t going to put mascara on the bottom lashes but I felt naked without itšŸ˜ I also lightened up my brows and tried to shape them a little better.
