MyCAREER Some things to note about shooting build specialization

Post image
145 Upvotes

After completing 7/10 challenges in the specialization, I can share a couple things I’ve noticed.

- The bonus badges can be used for ANY badges, not just shooting or those specifically related to your desired specialization

- Instead of the 2 archetype names we got last year (Automatic and Green Light), there are 4 this time (Pull-Up Predator, From Deep, Deadeye Demon, and Verde)

Mycareer and Dion’s open runs on rookie mode are still the fastest way to get these challenges done

I was playing a game against OKC in the Fire and Concrete MyCareer and they subbed in Russell Westbrook and I was confused af, is this normal or did the GM decide to pick up Russ from the free agent pool

REC You’re benefiting your team by quitting. Your AI will play defense and can make shots. Feel free to quit if you miss you first few horrible takes. Thanks.

MyPLAYER I am about to save so many of you with this jumper

If you are a guard or forward with a 89 3 ball and can’t hit a shot, look not further

Base Devin booker
Both releases Larry bird
Make release exactly at set point and make visual queue set point as well, mess with the timing but I found one tick slower is really good

Release when ball is brought all the way back

Green window is massive went from 30% to 70% instantly. Was playing proving grounds and didn’t miss 20 open 3’s in a row

Gameplay Ball handle means nothing if you have 25 strength.

Unless you’re playing against someone with the same low strength your ball handle means nothing. I’ve seen it over and over in PGs because they really think they gonna just breeze past and they just dribble their stam down and run into a brick wall. And u lowkey don’t even need a crazy strength level. I got a 75 and 90% of my match ups have 25. 90+ ball handle and can’t go anywhere. Moral of the story is don’t forget strength off your player. Especially if you’re trying to dribble.

MyCAREER Message to PowerForwards

I play pretty much only rec and usually have a state line that has assist and rebounds well into Double digits. This is mostly from rebounds then outlet pass or offensive boards and open threes. I’ve just about had it with people building PF builds thinking they’re KD, while they’re 7 foot opposite is rim running and grabbing boards. Like you’re 2/17 please just hold l2 in front of your man so he stops boxing me out please. Guards and forwards literally expect you to out jump the other center while the pf is bussing it back on me and our PF is under their rim. Not to mention the guards and small forwards who sprint into the paint to steal your rebound every time because they can’t shoot or get any stats any other way. I find it hilarious as I’m literally feeding these players the only points they will get through fast breaks but they won’t even pass me the ball if I’m open under the basket. IF YOU WANT TO ONLY PLAY OFFENSE AND SHOOT SHIT SHOTS PLAY CAREER MODE.

Gameplay NBA 2K27 after 6 days

After 6 days.. I still stand on my opinion. And I feel like I should do my part in to spreading postive feedback.. like that 2k can steer towards this direction.. and still improve. Ya'll know how I felt about 26.. I thought the game was terrible. It took everything away that makes basketball.. basketball. I think 27.. is while not perfect.. it still is the best most balanced.. most authentic basketball game to date right now. IT IS NOT PERFECT.. that is not my point. But this is the best basketball game ever put out. This is coming from a guy who's been playing online since 2k14. Now.. this game has some inconsistencies.. people are still (sometimes) shooting some ridiculous three point fading shots. I've seen a lot of contested threes go in.. but this has been a part of 2k forever. I don't think people remember how bad the cheese was in 2k16.. it was 10 years ago. This can all be fixed with a simple patch.. but even then.. basketball in itself gets ridiculous sometimes. Not trying to justify contested shots going in.. but in the NBA .. contested shots do go in.. a lot.. especially by the elite players. But the idea in the NBA is to always 100% look for the best shot.. even if it doesn't always amount to it being 100% open at times.. because team defense has gotten much more advanced now. Anyways.. not to make this post so long.. i think 26 steered away from the importance of creating space for the best possible shot in a posession. They made dribbling.. and shooting ridiculously easy to the point of no consequences coming from low IQ plays. 25.. while being better than 26.. overpowered defense a bit too much.. to the point where it made our so called 99 ovr nba player extremely limited. It was clunky, slow.. and it was more of an open shot simulator than actual fast paced.. modern basketball. 27.. in my honest opinion.. despite all the inconsistencies (that every 2k has had) is the sweet middle ground between the last 2 entries. The community is unfortunately complaining that we have to play basketball again.. which says a lot about the level of player majority of the community is. Anyways.. I still stand by my opinion.. this is a very good 2k in my eyes.. GAMEPLAY wise. It's not as bad as some youtubers say it is. A lot of content creators are just putting clips out there.. without context. At the end of the day.. defense actually matters again.. and it works more than it doesn't. Especially when compared to 2k26.. anyways I rest my case

REC Best change I see no one talking about is the REP from Rec center

For years now I barely get anywhere in the rep grind because I only play rec/pro am and it gave near 0 progress, this year I’m already starter 2 which is the highest I’ve ever hit

Gameplay If you’re doing defensive build specialization and want easy, unlimited blocks, The Shell in Street Kings is your best bet.

Go to Hallows Park and put your matchup to Mays. He’s a 5’10 slashing PG who does layups. When he’s bringing the ball up just play to the side and get a block when he goes paint. He also has a very slow jumper that’s easy to block.

This video is with a 6’7 SF with enough block for bronze High Flyer Denier.

MyPLAYER Respect Your Center

Centers are the back bone of Rec and Pro-Am (Crews). So many people are trash at creating their own shot that they have to rely on the Center grabbing a defensive board and getting it to them on an outlet pass. Meanwhile, if it’s not a fast break, Centers are forced to sit in the corner and “wait” for the guards to “get busy”. Show some love to your Centers.

REC Must have badges/attribute thresholds for rec centers?

For those with rec games under their belts, what are the must-haves for rec centers this year? What badges are useless? Preferably for rebounding and defense

Gameplay Not Enough Shading Animations On D

Look, if we're being honest, I know everyone hates locked or "canned" shading animations since it dictates where the offense is allowed to go, but if we're being completely honest, that's just realistic.

Nobody in real basketball just lets the ball handler get to wherever they wanna go. They dictate where you're allowed to go by creating cutoff angles, or shading you in one direction & forcing you to make a play.

In older games, if you took a bad angle & got locked into a shading animation, a good portion of the time you were either forced to switch dribbling hands, pass, shoot, or simply wait until the ball handler regained his balance, which was a good thing.

It created more of a chess match on D, that not only rewarded good basketball IQ, but in general, just looked much more physical. These days in these newer games? Animation cancelling can just bail you out of anything essentially.

MP Builder Do we get extra Badge Tokens/Slots when using Cap Breakers on a 0-token category?

I'm making a 6'10" Center build. Right now, my base 3PT rating is capped at 44. Because of this, my Shooting Badge Tokens and Badge Slots are exactly at 0 in the builder.

If I apply 5 Cap Breakers to upgrade my 3PT from 44 to 78, will the game automatically grant me the required Badge Tokens and Slots to actually equip the newly unlocked badges (like Silver Set Shooter)? Or will I be stuck with 0 slots/tokens because my base creation was at 44?

MyCAREER I have a great idea for an addition to MyCareer.

I think it would be a great addition to the game if you could ask your coach to sit for a few minutes to rebuild stamina.
