One of my favorite Game 5 moments came from Mikal Bridges.

It's the 4th quarter. The Knicks are up by 1 with 3 minutes and 22 seconds left on the clock. The Knicks regain possession and head down the floor.

Mitch Johnson indicates to the Spurs that he wants them to foul. Mikal Bridges realizes that the Spurs are about to do Hack-A-Mitch and frantically motions for a time-out, going right up to the ref. The time-out is granted and Mitchell Robinson is pulled. And the rest is history.

The broadcast indicates that the time-out was Mike Brown's call, but you can see that it was all Mikal. Mike Brown was talking to another coach when Mikal started motioning to the ref for a time-out.

Worth every pick and then some.

Thibs will always have my respect for help turning things around in New York… The franchise was abysmal prior to his hiring.

He finished with a record of 226–174 (.565 win percentage) and a postseason record of 24–23 across 4 postseason appearances including an ECF; 1st one in over 25 years.

However, Brown was the right man for the job.

He able to listen to his players/coaches and make adjustments. Basketball is a team sport.

Bridges tried to suggest (really warn) Thibs publicly about not playing the bench. Thank goodness Brown came in and let the dogs out!

KNICKS FANS, THIS IS NOT A DREAM!!

I don’t know why every time I see this/I watch this I get emotional every time. I’ve always felt I could really relate to this guy, from his family dynamics and everything. I don’t know.

I just feel like I always knew him.

Like I could relate to some of these things that maybe he had went through, or I could relate to some of these things that his parents were trying to instill into him.

It always felt like he was somebody who was from around the way.

It always felt like he was somebody who was one of the neighbors or something lol.

It’s easy to root for him. I don’t know why but it’s easy to root for him.

The fact we legitimately got the win is still crazy for me.

I feel like it was really me who won that chip.

Okay, so I don’t understand this. How was there literally zero shirts, hats, merch produced that commentate the Knicks winning both the NBA Cup and the NBA finals in the same season. It’s an unprecedented accomplishment and one that over the years will prove elusive and very hard to achieve and for some reason none of the licensed products released say “The Double” or “2025 NBA Cup and NBA Finals Champions” I literally don’t understand this.

I honestly feel like it’s a huge missed opportunity for sales. I’m super proud of the fact that we won both, it is not easy to win basically a single elimination tournament…

Anybody else feel like this?

What the Knicks just did is unprecedented… Don’t let these other fanbases compare their title runs to the Knicks…
