• Changed it so that when returning a high ball, if you press the Flat shot button twice, it produces a Star Shot even if there is no Star Point there.

  • Note: In Ver. 1.1.0, the situation above would result in a Powerful Flat.

• Fixed a bug where Amps placed with the Amp Racket disappear before 12 seconds pass.

A couple months ago, one of my friends unfortunately suffered a pretty severe brain hemorrhage.

Luckily, the recovery is going pretty well and right now we're at a point where he has no more cognitive issues, only some physical issues (for example, he can't fully control all of his finger movements).

As you can imagine, laying in a hospital bed all day can get pretty boring and there is only so much TV one can watch. I have a Switch lying around that I don't really use anymore myself so I'm going to give him that to pass the time. The only issue is that I don't have a lot of games on it and stuff like Zelda BOTW will probably be too frustrating to play when you don't have your full motor skills.

So, any tips on games that are pretty chill to play and that don't require any dexterity? Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone! My name is Remy Siu, the creative director of 1000xRESIST. It's great to be back doing an AMA. The last AMA we did was during the initial release on May 9, 2024. 1000xRESIST is a sci-fi narrative thriller. The year is unknown, and a disease spread by an alien invasion keeps you underground. You are Watcher. You dutifully fulfil your purpose in serving the ALLMOTHER, until the day you discover a shocking secret that changes everything.

The game features 10 hours of narrative twists and turns, and 15,000 lines of fully voiced dialogue.

We were heavily inspired by movies like “Millenium Actress” (Satoshi Kon) and “In The Mood For Love” (Wong Kar-wai). On the game side, we took influence from “NieR: Automata,” “13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim,” and “SIGNALIS.”

The Nintendo Switch 1 version of 1000xRESIST was a real effort and one of the most difficult things I've ever done in my life. Porting the game to Nintendo Switch 2 feels like we're coming full circle. Finally we get to give Switch players the version we always intended.

I’m a bit of a collector and always chasing that “one more hour” can’t put down “it’s taken over my life” kind of games. I enjoy a bit of each genre, but I don’t want to have a bunch of the same, you know? (Feel that way with management/life sims lately). I crave good narratives, addictive gameplay, and just experiences that leave you feeling some kind of way when you put it down.

I’m looking for some good platformers and rogue likes too, more specifically. I’ve yet to find one that really sucks me in. I’m trying out Tunic and so far I’ve enjoyed it.

I love action rpgs and have been wanting a new one to play, preferably one that is on sale or is on sale often. On Switch I have Skyrim, Diablo 3, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, and the latest one I loved, Shining Resonance Refrain (which I loved!). I do have games like One Piece Warriors 4 and the Fate games that play like Dynasty Warriors that idk if they qualify as action rpgs, but I enjoy nonetheless. I'm basically looking for a game like the first for where I go on adventures, level up, and the combat is real time and requires inputs. Any recommendations for such games that is similar, a hidden gem, or underrated?

First things first:

• Game cartridges that contain the game data are, of course, better in every respect!
• I wish there were no game key cards, but only game cartridges containing the whole game!
• I know I’ll get downvoted to the centre of the earth for trying to mention a positive aspect of GKC ;)

I’d just like to point out a little feature that’s often overlooked, which means that in the event of server outages or the apocalypse, you can still install the games using GKC , whereas you can’t with purely digital game purchases.

Standard Game Cards: Just plug it in and everything works. The game is on the card, and so is the key. Works offline.

Digital purchases: The key is stored on the server. It’s not possible to completely reinstall games that weren’t already on the Switch unless the Virtual Game Card had already been inserted whilst the servers were still online.

GKC: The key is stored offline on the card. No online licence verification is required. You can also easily download the game data from anyone else who has the game on their Switch, without needing a server or an internet connection. Directly below the option to update the game is the option ‘Synchronise Version with local users’. This allows you to set up a Wi-Fi group and download the game data from other Nintendo Switch consoles.

Of course, the major drawback is that you need to know someone who still has the relevant game data on their Switch or SD card so that you can download it from them. However, should the servers go offline at some point, there will certainly be groups or meet-ups organised to download games.

Incidentally, this can also help owners of cards containing game data. Example:

The card contains version 1.0. Over time, the game receives updates and eventually reaches version 1.5. The servers are offline, and you might want to reinstall the game at some point; you do this using your Game Card and end up with version 1.0 installed on your Switch again. All games are backwards compatible when it comes to save files. However, some games cannot load a save file from version 1.5 into the game running version 1.0. In that case, it helps to download the latest version locally via Wi-Fi from another Switch user. Because the game cards usually don’t contain the most recent version of the game, which is the one you may have created your latest save file on

Of course, genuine Game Cards are better in every respect. But the feature that allows you to download game data directly from other Switch users rather than from Nintendo’s servers is somehow often overlooked, and in this particular case, the GKC’s ability to carry out licence verification without using Nintendo’s servers can certainly be useful.

TL;DR: You can download data from Switch games onto other Switch consoles without needing to use Nintendo’s servers (Synchronise Version with local users). The GKC then handles the offline licence check for this.

Someone advised me to use the powerbank with Switch2. I plugged one but it didn't charge much. From 23% to 23%, no progress at all. Maybe unsuitable brand/ power so looking tor suggestion

Really enjoyed this game a lot. Couldn't put it down! The previous game in the series, Tangle Tower, was already a fun game, but the presentation for The Mermaid Mask is a step up overall.

I like the two mains (Grimoire and Sally) as they try to solve their latest murder case in a submarine filled with a bunch of mysterious quirky suspects.

• Puzzles: A lot of really solid puzzles to solve, many different types.
• Art: Looks as good as ever. Even better with the addition of 3D, being able to look and examine clue items from every angle.
• Voice Acting & Animation: The voice actors did an amazing job bringing the characters to life. Paired with the character animations, it made me click on everything just to see if they would say something.
• Music & SFX: Haunting, atmospheric, a joy to listen to while running around, interrogating suspects and solving things.
• Story: Definitely top notch. The mysteries, suspect backstories, lore, banter and dialogue were all great.

Minor nitpick: Couple of small typos, but really very little.

I want another sequel! Did anyone else finish it yet? What'd you think?

I really like playing Mario Kart World with my friends, but there was always a problem: not everyone has a Switch 2, and even when they do, not everyone owns the same games.

Then there is the other problem. When I go to a party or to a friend's place, I don't really want to carry my Switch 2, the dock, controllers and everything else just to play for a bit.

So I ended up building a way to play my Switch 2 from basically any device with a browser and any compatible controller.

The idea is pretty simple:

Switch 2 -> HDMI capture -> Linux PC -> WebRTC -> browser

Controller input goes back from the browser to a Raspberry Pi Pico 2 W, which acts as USB gamepads for the Switch.

That means my friends can join from their own PCs, connect their controllers, open a browser and play with me without needing their own Switch 2.

It currently supports up to 4 players, and everything runs locally on my own network. There is no cloud service or dedicated client to install.

I originally built it just because I wanted an easier way to play with my friends, but I figured I would share it in case anyone else has a similar use case.

The whole project is open source if you want to do it yourself!

I'd be interested to hear if anyone else has had the same problem, or if you have ideas for other ways this could be useful.
