Let's be honest for a minute. The first 2 seasons of the live action are great, even though some people may disagree. But if we're being honest, I can't see it going till like Wano or any of the later arcs, for many reasons like problems with the cast, arcs getting heavily reliant on CGI the more the series goes on, budget issues that we've already been seeing in these two seasons, etc. So, in your honest opinion, how long do you think the series could go for before Netflix shuts it down?

Going through my first ever journey through One Piece and currentky on Whole Cake Island, I was genuinely SHOCKED at how much hate this arc gets.

So much around this arc just hits different: the horror / Tim Burton aesthetic, the comedy, each of the crew’s roles and stories here, some of the best pre-timeskip fights and animation in the series, everything kinda just works.

Also, Nothing Happened being one of my top five favorite moments in the series and cemented Zoro as my favorite character that isn’t Luffy.

Genuinely one of my favorite arcs and just might make it a tradition to rewatch it every October now.

Do y'all think this adds something to the general lore and story?

This is still an incomplete theory, and some parts are much more speculative than others. I’m posting it mainly because I think there is a pattern here and I’d like to see if anyone can find additional connections, so I would really love your thoughts and contributions!!

1. Emet may have been sent to protect Fish-Man Island / Poseidon

In a previous theory, I suggested that Emet may somehow have been sent (or programmed?) to act 200 years ago, and that his attack on Mary Geoise was connected to what was happening with Fish-Man Island at exactly that time.

Emet was built around 900 years ago, but mysteriously attacked Mary Geoise 200 years ago. Oda makes Robin immediately connect this date with the historical change in the treatment of Fish-Men, and this is around the period when Fish-Man Island began attending the Levely.

Interestingly, Vander Decken I also lived roughly in this historical period and was searching for the Mermaid Princess.

My hypothesis is therefore that Emet’s mission 200 years ago may have been to protect Poseidon, Fish-Man Island, or the conditions needed for Joy Boy future return.

2. Why wouldn’t Joy Boy send his allies into the future?

Joy Boy was clearly extraordinarily powerful: we have seen the effect of his stored Haki, and even Imu words confirm that.

More importantly, Toki was born 800 years ago, and possessed a Devil Fruit capable of sending both herself and other people forward through time.

So after Joy Boy lost the war, why would his strongest companions simply remain in an era where the battle was already lost?

If Joy Boy knew that the decisive moment would come 800 years later, it would make sense to distribute people and missions throughout the future so that the world would still be ready when the next Joy Boy arrived.

3. Roger did something strangely similar! But geographically

Look at the main Roger Pirates:

• Crocus is at the beginning of the Grand Line.
• Rayleigh is around its midpoint, at Sabaody.
• Gaban appears almost at the end.

Narratively, Oda has distributed Roger’s old generation in these key positions.

What if Joy Boy’s generation was distributed in a similar way, not through space, but through ... time?

4. Rayleigh and Ryuma: both at the “midpoint”?

This is where the idea originally clicked for me:

• Rayleigh appears roughly halfway through Luffy’s Grand Line journey.
• Ryuma lived roughly centuries after the Void Century and centuries before the present, around ~400 years ago, almost exactly halfway between Joy Boy’s era and Luffy’s.

What if Ryuma was not simply born in that period? What if, like Emeth, he originally came from Joy Boy’s era and was sent forward to protect Wano (in this case) when Wano needed him? (This is obviously speculative I know!)

But his historical function is interesting: Wano was targeted by outsiders, and Ryuma became the defender of Wano, and even killed the mysterious dragon.

5. Three key peoples of Joy Boy’s world

There may also be a larger geographical pattern:

1. Fish-Man Island: Sea element, animal-related people (Fish-Men/Merfolk), water-based powers, outside of the World Government, a Road Poneglyph, an Ancestral Weapon
2. Wano + Zou: Land element, animal-related people (Minks), electricity-based powers, outside of the World Government, two Road Poneglyphs, an Ancestral Weapon
3. Lunarians Island**\*: Sky element, animal-related people (Lunarians have wings), fire-based powers, outside of the World Government (likely), a Road Poneglyph in the past? (can't tell) and an Ancestral Weapon? (Uranus to me seems linked to the Lunarians)

These are all places/populations deeply connected to the world that existed before the World Government.

***I previously theorized that Lodestar, the final destination of the Log Pose, could be a hidden Sky Island where surviving Lunarians escaped, explaining why the race is believed to be extinct to stay safe from the World Government.

6. Joy Boy’s guardians of the future

This is where the pattern gets interesting:

• Fish-Man Island → Emet (?)
• Wano/Zou → Zunesha + Toki + possibly Ryuma
• Lunarians/Lodestar → ???

Maybe Joy Boy’s plan was to have his companions job was to keep the necessary places safe and ready until the right era arrived.

7. So who is waiting next?

This is a very weak part of the theory, pure speculation, but I can’t resist mentioning it!

If Lodestar really is about the Lunarians, maybe someone from Joy Boy crew was sent - or will be arriving - there as well?

Before One Piece, Oda designed Ryuma alongside a knight named “Romeo” in early concepts. So if Ryuma somehow represented a Rayleigh/Zoro-like figure from Joy Boy’s generation, could Joy Boy also have had another counterpart? Like Roger had Rayleigh and Gaban, maybe Joy Boy had Ryuma and this knight. And if Ryuma was sent to roughly the “middle” of the timeline, perhaps this knight was sent much further forward, appearing near its end, just as Gaban appears near the end of Luffy’s journey? Could that character, or his legacy, be waiting at Lodestar to protect the Lunarians?

2.6 billion, real big. But I hear discussion about the fact it feels kinda low but y'all gotta remember it was given at least 6 years ago and thus subject to inflation which based off Dory and Brogy is 2.933% a year, and hence 17.598% after 6 years. 17.598% of 2.6 Billion is 457,548,000. Meaning his bounty is actually 3,057,548,000. Which considering he has no crew and they didn't know who killed Harald, is crazy. Well assuming the special part isn't because they don't know who killed Harald and that was given to whoever did it.

Luffy dream is that no one is lonely anymore. He is gonna be friends with everyone. This makes also sense for the kid luffy to say. When he got captured and didn’t betrayed ace and sabo, they asked him why he endured so much pain and he replied that he has one else than them. For him it was worse to be alone than being hurt. This is also why he likes to throw parties, because everyone gets together and doesn’t have to be alone.

Also the reaction of the crew makes completely sense. Chopper was fascinated, because he knows the pain of being alone. Ussops complain also makes sense, because that is really not something someone can do actively. Luffy believes that it is possibly, because everyone wants to be friends with the pirate king.

Besides that it is basically also the storyline. Everyone becomes his ally sooner or later. Mihawk also highlighted that during the war that he has the ability to make turn everyone into his ally and that this is the most dangerous power.

On the other side we have IMU. He has technically no one. Of course people are working for him but only because they want to take benefit out of it or as slaves. But he doesn’t really have friends. Maybe Joyboy was his only friend.

What do you think about it?

Now I am not 100% done with the Anime yet. It had been a few months since I have watched as I took a break but I am in Wano. I see many people hate on Skypiea and it is honestly my favorite arc out of every arc I have watched. Idk why it is so disliked and many people even seem to skip over it. It has plenty of funny moments, some good stories, iconic moments. And it does not even have much filler compaired to the rest of the later arcs. It makes me sad to see people dislike my favorite arc.

I often see discourse about Imu’s portrayal as the “Final Boss” or strongest fighter in One Piece, and most of the confusion stems from a fundamental misconception about what Imu actually represents. Yes, Imu has been the literal king of the world for centuries, and it’s natural to assume that such a figure must be the strongest fighter in the traditional power-scaling sense. But the recent chapters challenge that assumption. People look at Imu being caught off guard by Loki, Luffy, or even Hajrudin and interpret it as inconsistency or a break in the power system. In reality, this criticism comes from applying combat logic to a character who has never been framed as a top-tier martial fighter. Imu’s strength isn’t rooted in haki mastery or physical combat — it’s rooted in being the strongest being, a ruler whose power operates on a completely different plane than the rest of the cast. When fans treat Imu like a conventional fighter, the portrayal looks inconsistent. When you treat Imu like a reality-warping monarch, the portrayal becomes perfectly coherent.

First of all, Imu likely is the strongest being in One Piece — but not in the way people assume. Calling Imu the “strongest fighter” implies elite haki proficiency, refined combat technique, and top-tier physical prowess. If you start from that assumption, then yes, the recent chapters look contradictory. But Imu has never been portrayed as a martial specialist. Imu’s power is built on longevity, regeneration, and abilities we’ve never seen before, not on traditional combat scaling. That’s why applying standard strength rules to Imu creates confusion. Imu casually overwhelms Gear 5 not because of superior fighting skill, but because Imu’s abilities bypass the entire combat system. This is also why Luffy’s base-form sucker punch landed — not because Luffy was stronger, but because Imu’s power isn’t designed to counter instinctive, chaotic, will-driven actions. Luffy acted without context or fear, and that purity of intent let him slip past Imu’s defenses. The moment Luffy locked in and treated it like a formal fight, he started playing on Imu’s terms, even in Gear 5 — and Imu shut him down instantly.

Hajrudin’s moment makes this dynamic even clearer. Unlike Luffy, Hajrudin does know exactly who Imu is and what Imu has already done — zero‑diffing Loki, overwhelming Gear 5, one-shotting Zoro and Sanji, and serving as the root of the entire Elbaf catastrophe. Even the Holy Knights had rendered Hajrudin ineffective up to this point. He understands the full scale of the threat, yet he acts anyway. That’s what makes his hit so important. It’s not a power feat; it’s a will feat. The danger doesn’t matter. The decision is clean. Hajrudin steps in because it’s what must be done, and that conviction is exactly why his blow lands. Just like Luffy’s sucker punch, it proves Imu isn’t physically untouchable — Imu is simply immune to conventional strength. Characters who act with pure, unhesitating will can disrupt Imu, while characters who treat Imu like a standard opponent cannot.

These recent developments within the One Piece fandom has peaked my interest while also surprising me a great deal, because this is something that reads pretty clearly to me, but Elbaf has still attracted a unique wave of criticism. A lot of that criticism isn’t coming from actual inconsistencies — it’s coming from pure misinterpretation. People are applying traditional power‑scaling logic to a character who doesn’t operate within that system. Once you understand that Imu’s weakness is conceptual rather than physical, Hajrudin’s moment stops looking like a “scaling problem” and starts looking like deliberate thematic storytelling. It tells us everything about how Imu will ultimately be defeated: not through superior power scaling, but through the same instinctive, uncompromising will, that we have seen throughout the entire series with Luffy especially.

TL;DR: Imu is the strongest being, not the strongest fighter. His power bypasses conventional combat logic, which is why characters acting with pure instinct or conviction (Luffy, Hajrudin) can disrupt him while traditional strength fails. The Elbaf criticism comes from treating Imu like a "Kaido‑type" opponent, which he isn’t.
