I once had a super weird nested dream like that. I had a nightmare about being in a car accident, then woke up in a giant bed in a hotel, hung out with some dude for couple hours, went to sleep again, woke up again in a hotel in Hong Kong, had a day out in the city with some old friends from high school, fell asleep in a cab, woke up in Maine in a cabin with my most recent ex, started describing the weird dream I just had to her, suddenly remembered we were broken up, and then woke up in my room at home.

I started lucid dreaming for a time in my adolescence. I was after plagued by nightmares every night and was scared to go to sleep, but I eventually learned to control the nightmares. At first I could simply tell I was dreaming and force myself to wake up and eventually I could control the dreams somewhat.
At some point I woke up at night (in a dream). The house was the same, but just creepier (a common beginning of my nightmares). I went into the kitchen, and my mother was there! I talked with her and told her she was my dream mum, she made me a snack. I ate it and we talked and then I told her I have to go back to my real family now and we hugged and said goodbyes.
Kinda shat me off when Coralline came out

I once got up during the night to go to the bathroom. I had to pinch myself and make sure I wasn't dreaming because I once dreamt that I was peeing in the toilet.
Long story shory: I was dreaming that I was pinching myself to make sure I was awake, so I pissed in my bed again.
(Luckily I woke up before I was in full flow).

Oh shit I have had something like that before too. Nowhere near what you had but I have definitely "woken up" from a dream before in my own bed only to realise I was still dreaming. Had one one time where that happened like 20 times in a row before I actually woke up. It was all mundane as if I was normally waking up in my bed but then something would happen to where I realised it was a dream and then I woke up again over and over until I actually woke up.

It's very fucking disorienting and a little scary. It feels like your completely trapped, especially when the cycles start happening quickly. You might be in a dream for only a few seconds and then wake up again only to still be in a dream and wake up again on this quick cycle. Definitely has scared the crap out of me the few times it happens. It also makes your brain all wonky when you get out of bed properly.

Fucking awful and wrecked. I had nothing like the guy that woke up from the coma, but it was weird how I had to reset myself in the morning. The week I lived was super mundane and normal so none of it seemed that weird. Because of that when I woke up I kinda had to take a minute to sorth through what was real and what was dream.

i know what you mean and i'm not sure what combo of drugs caused it but my thinking is shrooms related. once i had this dream where my life continued as usual and i didn't even do bad but i went down a path and had a family and i woke up and i almost cried because i had a real sense of loss. by midday it was gone

Same. And actually quite confusing and frustrating when I woke up and instead of just one thing that didn't happen, an entire week(ish) of false memories. Luckily at some point early on (probably the day after my dream) it faded out as dreams do. So I recall that one time I had a very long and confusing dream and that it was disorienting for a little while after, I no longer really recall the specifics

he wasnt in a coma, he got knocked out for some seconds/minutes and started a whole life with chasing a girl, getting married to her, got kids. this whole life went for about 10 years - some day he noticed the lamp looked weird and he got obsessed with it. would only stare at it for a long time - until he woke up and was back from his knock out and got deeply depressed after cause he missed his wife/kids

I have contention with the idea of it being over a period of years. I dont doubt he hallucinated having a wife and kids and a lamp but the story lacks detail. What was he doing for all that time. Thats such a long time he should have been learning new skills, meeting many new people, doing things, but it doesnt sound that way. I think people would absolutely make up stories for attention online.

It's a work of fiction written with the intention of convincing people it's real, but I think calling it bullshit is under selling it. It's a genuinely enjoyable read, and while I was certainly skeptical of it the first time I read it, there was just enough plausible deniability to suspend my disbelief to become invested in the narrative. It's a good story, the fact that it's fiction doesn't change how enjoyable it was for me.

I still remember mine. it was like an escape the dream situation starting from the basement ending on top of the train in a barren empty snow landscape. snow was heavy. it was short but gave me more time after every time the dream reset. it was... something.

Yeah inception dreams are crazy, and I only had the one.
Mine was at the end of freshman year of college(I just finished my final for that day), and the whole story was that where I was sleeping was my start point, and I had to get to Moes before it closed so I can get and eat a ground beef bowl(at the time I never had one so I really wanted to try). I was getting up and each time I was going through an obstacle course basically(one dream obstacle was an American ninja warrior one, another was like a maze, and the third one I was just fighting my way through like John wick, at that point I knew this was a dream cause where I was sleeping was like 200 feet away from the actual Moes on campus).
I keep resetting when I was able to see the Moes(if you don’t know, Moes is kind of a derivative of Chipotle(same concept, different chain).

This happens to me pretty frequently. I’ll dream that I’m sleeping and that I had an alarm set that didn’t go off. I’ll check my phone and realize I’m late/slept in and wake up only to realize I’m still dreaming. Sometimes they russian nesting doll and I’ll get like 5 before I actually wake up. Another time I got sleep paralysis during the “you need to get up and leave now” phase which is usually just me trying to do what I’m supposed to be but being incapable of doing it at the pace I need to.

IIRC he wasn't in a coma. He hit his head playing college football or something and in the 10 seconds he lost consciousness he hallucinated an entire life where he married his college girlfriend and had kids and basically made a life together for years. Until one day he noticed that a lamp in his living room looked strange. He decided to examine the lamp closely when suddenly the lamp started to grow and grow until he started hearing people screaming and woke up in the football field when somebody was carrying him away to take him to a hospital because he had hit his head 10 seconds ago while playing.

I used to experience very long dreams as a kid. Not life long, but could feel like a whole 1-3 days. They were rare though. Like maybe once or twice a month. When I started getting nightmares, I actually learnt basic lucid dreaming techniques. Just enough to make me realise I’m in a dream because being in a nightmare that feels like days was awful. Its the cause of my fear of Super Mario 64 to this day.
But jesus long form dreams are insane, I cant imagine one lasting more than 3 days

He had been in a football player assault incident I believe. And he took many minutes to wake up from being knocked out. Long enough that first responders were there to help him. He woke up and realized his whole adult life was a dream. And that he'd never see his wife or kids again. Although once in awhile he'll have a dream where he can see his 5 year old son in his peripherals, never clearly. If I remember correctly.

There was a Reddit post where some guy was having a good life. He married a woman and had two healthy kids and he was really happy. Then one day he started looking at this lamp in his house because it was looking very weird and unusual. The lamp was like a glitch and then he woke up at the hospital and realize the good life he was living was all not real. He was in a coma, that is why he was imagining all that and none of it was real. It is a very sad and spooky story.

It’s a reference to a "creepypasta" (I don’t know the exact term for it) in which a person hits their head and passes out, but wakes up immediately and goes on living their life as usual.
Eventually he gets a better job, he gets married, has children, etc. But he subtly starts to stare his lamp, because right now it is shaped slightly odd. Days passes and he doesn't stop to stare it...
Ultimately he wakes up in the hospital bed. Everything he experienced was a lie. He was in a coma. He didn't got a better job, a wife or kids... it was all in his head

The detail everyone is leaving out is he was in a motorcycle accident I think. Hit his head. The whole wife children life experience happened in the span of moments. Then he woke up. He also spend quite a while looking at the lamp trying to understand. It consumes him until the dream/experience ends. Its a very unseltting story. It haunted the man.
