i got chewed when i did the wrong stroke for korean letters over and over by an ex. she said 'you have to write it like this. just like your letter have a certain way to write them'. i informed her we do not have stroke orders in english. our writing is all just 'make the outcome look like this'. her dad also was very confused by 7s if you crossed them or 4s if it wasnt slanted. he would think they were something else.
ours, at best, is just to get kids to learn to write. after 1st or 2nd its as long as the letters look right, your good. there is no important to our stroke order. you can probably even grab a friend and will see them writing some letters differently than you do.
Sure, based on the direction we write in mostly, but if you choose to do your own thing and still make the right shape, most people aren't going to care.
I was always catching hell about the direction of my Os for some reason. Now nobody cares, also I can count on my writing hand how many times I've picked up a pen or pencil this year.
It's more about the right way to write it than that it's notable. If you wrote a line going the wrong direction it wouldn't make it a different word, it would just look weird and not be the "proper" way to write it. Generally you write from up to down and left to right
Being a native English speaker and knowing how many handwriting variations there are in my language, it's just kinda wild how strict others can be.
It also makes me think how I've heard stories of misspeaking in other languages by saying a word very slightly wrong, maybe with a different vowel sound or something. Crazy to me that small things like that can fully break communication in some languages while I can sit here and listen to 10 different accents of non-native English speakers who are pronouncong nearly every word in at least slight unusual/"wrong" ways, but I can still make out what they're saying and have a conversation. Some English speakers act like they can't, but many of them are just being bigots and asshats and not really trying. I have terrible auditory processing and can struggle with accents at times, but still figure it out.

These funny little quirks in foreign language stand out, because they are not English, the clusterfuck of language, where the phenomenon is so common that we have a word for it (homophone). In English we even have Contronyms, which is similar to a homophone, but the two words are opposites (like "cleave" meaning "join together" or "separate", or "left" meaning to remain behind, or to be gone, as well as the pile of other meanings it has.)
The fact that any of us made it out of the stone age is a miracle.

Its a living language. new people are constantly adding new meanings to new or existing words and others are willing to adopt it. Its what makes puns possible.
Carter here! Back in my day, you couldn't tell a scratch from a Chinese glyph, we just weren't educated on the nuances of the Orient (ahhh, the Orient, great food... cheap labour, my kind of place).
Anyway, I think this is a joke on that. Its actually just a mark where someone has rubbed up against or caught their car (the last time that happened I fired my chauffeur for it).
It isn't a Chinese symbol, it doesn't mean anything.

From what I can see. The symbol is a representation of the person feeling that you need to be punished.
If you look closely, you can see the form of a person bending on all fours and a paddle swatting the butt or maybe it's just my magic mushroom making me see things 😂
My guess is that these are just scratches from people opening their doors into theirs and they think it’s Chinese because they’re racist and near a restaurant
The joke is assuming a random thing is Chinese. Like asking a Chinese person what's Ching Chong Ting Tong Ling Long mean, that sounds like Chinese to me.
Oh, at Chinese restaurant, someone was upset and put a "Time for Tacos" symbol on your vehicle. The falling over T's signifying a hurried sense of urgency for tacos. They must of had a bad experience in thar restaurant.

FWIW, "a local yakuza thing" usually stays just that. If you'd done something really fucked up, we probably wouldnt even be having this conversation.
The idea is that you draw an innocent but unique symbol in the dirt on the car. if it's still there later, you know the car is not monitored and you can break into it safely.
? What reason does anyone believe this isn't a dent in someones car, it's either a racist comment in regards that Asians can't drive, or it's just random skid marks from someone who hit this car, that randomly kinda look like Chinese lettering.
