You either have friends who STILL haven’t tagged Pokémon for trading or you get friends who expect the world but provide nothing in return. So aggravating.

Shoutout to the people who actually understand remote trading, I didn’t think it was a difficult concept but apparently it’s not easy to comprehend.

My 6-year-old has recently started getting really into Pokémon, which has honestly been pretty fun. He likes looking through my Pokémon, catching things, asking me which ones are good, and generally just being excited about the game.

So the other day, I handed him my phone and let him play Pokémon Go for a bit.

That was my first mistake.

A little while later, I discovered that my 6-year-old had apparently decided that a wild Rattata was an encounter worthy of the highest honor possible.

He used my Master Ball on a Rattata.

Not a Galarian bird. Not some rare Pokémon I was terrified would run. Not even something cool.

A Rattata.

I was devastated, but hey... he's six. He saw the coolest-looking Poké Ball and obviously thought, "Yeah, this rat deserves it."

So I laughed it off.

Then I kept looking.

That's when I discovered what he had done to my 4-star Shadow Lugia.

He purified it.

My perfect Shadow Lugia.

Gone.

At that point I just stared at my phone for a minute.

I didn't get mad at him. I didn't even say anything negative to him because, realistically, this is 100% on me. He's six years old. He doesn't understand IVs, shadows, Master Balls, rarity, or why his dad suddenly looks like he's just received terrible financial news.

To him, he caught a Pokémon with the coolest ball and then helped Lugia by making the scary purple smoke go away.

He probably thought he was absolutely crushing it.

And honestly, I'm glad he's getting into Pokémon. I want him to enjoy it, and the last thing I want to do is make him feel bad or scared to play because Dad got upset over some pixels on a screen.

But man...

A Master Ball on a Rattata AND a purified 4-star Shadow Lugia in the same session.

Anyway, my son is no longer allowed unsupervised access to Pokémon Go until he can explain to me what IVs are and provide a written justification for using a Master Ball.

I think Pokémon GO might actually be over for me.

My goal/enjoyment for the game has been completeing the Pokédex. I’m at the point where I’ve completed Kanto and Johto, and I’m only missing a handful of Pokémon from the other regions, but the remaining ones are things I missed or they’re region-locked.

Getting them basically requires me to keep logging in every day, checking events, checking schedules, etc., just in case the one thing I need becomes available. Or grinding friendships for trades, which seems… 🤷‍♂️

At this point, it’s just added screentime. It’s continued daily engagement for months or years waiting for specific releases. And it feels like the game is jerking me around because I’m finding the monthly challenges are really effective at getting me to log in, but what’s it all for??

Is it just me or does it feel like someone over at Scopely didn’t flip the switch for the increased shiny rates if you have the deluxe pass?

I feel like the wild spawns for the starters still have the 1/500 chance to be shiny and that for the Mega Raids it’s 1/125. Neither of which are “increased” shiny odds. I would’ve expected 1/125 for wild spawns and 1/64 for Mega Raids.

Idk it might just be my luck for this event but it just seems off, I haven’t gotten a shiny (wild or raid) since the event started.

I live in a very small town that doesn’t have a lot of people playing GO anymore, and I don’t have any irl friends living nearby to ask to download the game for me. Are Parties completely off the table for me, since I don’t have anyone physically nearby? I’ve just gotten back into GO after taking a long break (stopped playing around 2021) and been working away at the missions, so knowing there’s a whole category of missions I can’t complete is a real bummer.

Don't know what the rates are but could have fooled me that they are boosted at all. I have a few from a community day from forever ago. Event done as far as I'm concerned.

It’s a noob question I know, but I just started playing. What am I supposed to do with all the Fennekins? Is there any reason to save them, or should I transfer them and get candy?

Also, my shiny is 2*. Should I still evolve it?

Just got my Frist level 50 today and was wondering how many level 50 people are sitting on and is there. Good way to earn xl candy for Pokemon.

So my husband and I are completely different on this, but wanted to see what other people do.

When it comes to taking gyms, do you guys wait the 8 hours so others can get their coin before taking it, or disregard that and take it whenever? Not judging either way, just curious! I typically will wait until someone hits the 8 hour mark before taking the gym, but my husband will take it regardless

While the current Mega- Finale pass hast some great value it currently sits at 16,50€. That amount is equal to 20$.

Now my complaint: Why does it only cost 15$ in America? Its 5$ cheaper compared to Europe, Germany.

Genuinely, did they mess up the conversion rate or are they messing with europeans...

Decided to risk it and purchase the deluxe. What do yall think? Was it worth it? So close to a shundo. Lol
