Oh well then he's safe because he didn't give us any pretense at all.

2

u/SpaceghostLos 15h ago

Concepts.

17

u/Cosmo1222 21h ago

Man's got form. Doesn't know what a petard is. Invading the middle east was a sign of weakness until there were some files he needed to distract folk away from.

6

u/TopAcanthisitta976 10h ago

Every accusation is a confession with Trump.

5

u/Odd-Neighborhood4214 20h ago

So why doesn’t the Republican Party do that but they won’t because they are scared of what Trump will do

12

u/elbowsandbuttholes 19h ago

The republican party died in 2016

1

u/Shikabane_Sumi-me 17h ago

Cause they don’t want to lose their spots. A lot of them apparently agreed with Obama but they still had to oppose otherwise they wouldn’t get elected again by their party.

1

u/H3llzyea 7h ago

Which in reality he can’t do a damn thing to them they’re just to scared to tell his uneducated delusional base the truth.

2

u/CrystalEntity1984 17h ago

I you look in the dictionary under the word "Incompetent" you'll find his picture.

1

u/Only_Flan_7974 14h ago

Throw the next impeachment onto the rest of the pile.

1

u/Weareallme 4h ago

Wow, he used to be smarter than I thought. Or is it the broken clock thing?

-5

u/bigclitcouple 17h ago

Well, he hasn't invaded the middle east

-8

u/Educational-Tour-139 18h ago

Did he invades? I thought he just bombedđŸ€”

u/JR_RXO 23h ago

18

u/Robestos86 23h ago

First true thing he's ever said.

10

u/Acceptable-Ad8780 22h ago

He said "smart people don't like me", "I love the uneducated", and "I don't think about American's financial situation." Also, "I don't care about you, I just need your vote."

https://giphy.com/gifs/98maV70oAqIZtEYqB4

3

u/Old_Macaroon4138 11h ago

I’d argue “I love the uneducated” is actually false, because the very concept love is foreign to him, and you know his thoughts on the foreign

2

u/Acceptable-Ad8780 10h ago

Very true.m and you are indeed correct, imo.

16

u/T_Shurt 23h ago

It’s almost as if a six-times bankrupt criminal president with 34 felony convictions and at least 26 failed businesses might be fucking terrible at running the country. đŸ€·đŸ»â€â™‚ïž

-27

u/57Chevyguy57 23h ago

Oh annnd let's not look at the opposing party that HATES him sooo much that they would destroy the whole effn country then work with him and or the Republicans to make it better

17

u/Itchy_Pressure_8311 1d ago

When has he EVER gotten people together? Other than planning the attack on the Capital?

18

u/Dinmorerfeit 23h ago

He got sex traffickers together at Mar-a-lago and on Epstein island, don't forget those.

14

u/SacredSepia 1d ago

That (R)ule does not apply to some presidents.

11

u/Suspicious_Goose_243 23h ago

I believe Obamas was caused by the republicans. Time ran out but they funded everything anyway.

13

u/ArchonFett 23h ago

Yep, and all 4 under Trump were also caused by Republicans. At least one to halt voting on releasing the Trumpstien files, since they were loosing the vote.

7

u/Shoddy_Reaction_1445 23h ago

Donny will be in so many lists.

1

u/ArchonFett 23h ago

The biggliest lists biggly beautiful lists

4

u/ArtemisiaOrthia 23h ago

Well, he had to make sure his number was bigger than Obama's

6

u/AlbatrossRich8724 23h ago

Ah, but you see, that would require some amount of self awareness. That doesn’t exist here

3

u/CueAnon420 23h ago

Obviously, that comment only applies to other presidents. Because nobody has been treated as badly as Trump has. And he has to fight for everything he does like nobody's ever seen before!

2

1

u/O-liffter 22h ago

We need MORE government shutdowns!
These politicians can’t balance a budget or our money.

1

u/Mainly_Miserable 22h ago

And that’s with all three branches of government being controlled by his party.

1

u/Alarming-Curve5339 22h ago

I live a government shutdown...means that the government isn't doing any damage

1

u/Kitty_Glitter_Poopoo 22h ago

Wasn’t the Epstein Clan the majority for all those shutdowns too?

1

u/Unusual_Froyo7751 22h ago

More fake news is all that you will hear from maga

"anyone that please the fifth is guilty" How many times have you done this Donald??

1

And I was serving when the shutdown happened with Obama. I still got my paycheck on the 1st and the 15th while at Ft. Polk, LA. Republicans claim to support our troops, but actions speak louder than words.

u/More-Difficulty-8104 20h ago

Rules for thee but not for me

1

u/Tough_Machine_7749 20h ago

Well its sort of proves a point that the democrats shut him down 5 times

1

u/OrneryZombie1983 6h ago

All of the shutdowns under Trump occurred when Republicans controlled Congress. There was one that started in December 2018 started when Republicans controlled both the House and Senate. It ended in January 2019 after Democrats assumed control of the House.

1

u/DLDDNH69 20h ago

Well that’s strange cause the president doesn’t control congress.

1

u/SpreadUsual8859 19h ago

Have you had enough yet ? Or do you want another term with him? You already know all of the details about him! What is it going to take for you to change this situation you currently have? Again. Have you had enough yet?

1

u/andymcpandypants 19h ago

All I see are four warmongering assholes.

1

u/TenPent 18h ago

Well it was a big deal when it happened under Obama so he had to do it several times to prove he can do it just as well.

1

u/pillow_honey 18h ago

before the bots come in and say "it was the dumbocrats fault" this just shows how other presidents actually worked with the other side, and how trump's government had to be stopped 4 times.

1

u/Traditional_Isopod80 18h ago

Strange that you never hear from MAGA in these threads defending his actions.

1

u/PremierMetro 17h ago

Worse president ever

1

u/CrystalEntity1984 17h ago

I you look in the dictionary under the word "Incompetent" you'll find his picture.

1

u/No_Monk_6267 15h ago

Also who controlled the House and Senate during most of those?

1

u/Icy_Fish_2154 8h ago

Trump has more shutdown days than all other presidents combined.

1

u/L3oSanch3z 5h ago

You are not very popular when you take the corrupted DumbaRats politicians money.

1

u/Murica4evr 4h ago

Due to the democrats

1

u/GrumpyBear8082 3h ago

That is not the role of the president. They are supposed to shut up and pass what ever is given to him by Congress. That is the way it has always been until Trump who doesn't care about Congress and fells the president should have power and should use it . It's why a lot of politicians are mad they are not getting there way and money is not being funneled into there bank account anymore. That will change when Trump is gone the politicians will start getting there corrupt money again once he is gone and they will keep doing what they are doing now because they don't care about the citizens

1

u/One_Doctor8045 2h ago

In his perseption he restarted it at least 3 Times, more than any other President/s

1

u/CaptainEfficient9006 2h ago

Those were Democrats shutdowns, buddy.

1

u/Objective_Watch3097 1h ago

"Unless it happens while I'm President, and then it would a tremendous thing for the country, Some would say it was the best thing that could happen. Men have come up to me, big men, strong men, tears in their eyes, saying "Sir...Sir, can you please make the government shutdown?" and I have to do it. I don't have a choice because all of the horrible things that Obama did"

1

u/BebophoneVirtuoso 1h ago

Love that picture of my president, that's how I'll remember him.

1

u/Fit_Test_4233 1h ago

Yep this chart just shows how detrimental trump is to the “System”. They are all dirty no matter what side

0

u/Low-Essay-113 23h ago

Ooh, do a who caused the shutdowns.

11

u/Ok-Instruction-5004 23h ago

Almost always Republicans. Almost always trying to pass BS with the budget.

0

u/Sure_Warning_706 17h ago

And? Everyone agrees wit that

0

u/HappySilverDaddy 17h ago

Presidents don’t shut down the government. Also, there would be no need for Cars if Congress would actually pass a budget

0

u/Gohanisbetter 16h ago

Forgot bill clinton huh?

0

u/Visible-Elevator3801 15h ago

So, the image’s creator is telling me that Obama is worse than Bush and Biden?!

0

u/No_Ticket3575 11h ago

It will be as damaging if not so even more than the last one was for the democrats....the democrats are purging the liberals cupcake without the democrat planted judges and investigators protecting the liberals they are cooked period ...schumer wont allow another damaging shut down until after they purge the libs he cant afford it.

0

u/BOWLING__ 9h ago

#democrats vote no

0

u/Balsamic_Warrior 7h ago

These numbers are simply indicative of how congress votes on continuing to fund the government. If Democrats vote in lockstep to not fund the government (pretty impressively, I might add) then blaming the president for Congress' inability to fund is a bit of a stretch.

0

u/knighthawk3759 7h ago

That's because the Democrats hate him so much that they refuse to go along with anything and they refuse to compromise

2

u/FionaWalliceFan 2h ago

I'm pretty sure during the last shutdown it was Trump that forbade Republicans from compromising to end the shutdown

-2

u/Zestyclose-Banana358 22h ago

Shows who the more cooperative party is and who is butt hurt constantly.

6

u/elbowsandbuttholes 19h ago

Trump is the most divisive and most partisan president ever. Fact. 💯

-7

u/Zestyclose-Banana358 19h ago

Opinion. Literally the text book definition of opinion.

3

u/elbowsandbuttholes 18h ago

Objectively look at the amount of votes that the opposing party their legislation has. Objectively read the transcript of his public speeches. Objectively how many times does he agree with the democrats in congress? Objectively how many times does insult the opposing party? Objectively check the pulse of the country. Your claim is false. The facts exist. Closing your eyes doesn't change the reality.

-4

u/Zestyclose-Banana358 18h ago

Objectively, you’re not objective.

2

u/elbowsandbuttholes 18h ago

I'm not the subject of our conversation. It's Trump's level of divisiveness and partisanship.

-1

u/Fabulous_Quantity507 14h ago

No one worked while Biden was in office anyway.

-6

u/TangerinePlastic7552 Full English Please 23h ago

There is one exception. When a party tries to impeach him on Inauguration Day before he had the chance to exscerize his powers.

-3

u/Wide_Champion4567 19h ago

Wrong again

-6

u/AirportMan84 17h ago

The lower numbers were spineless

-4

u/SyxxBowler 17h ago

Dems shut down gov 4:1 over republicans.. lol. Thats whack for the party of big gov.

-5

u/Economy_Science7040 19h ago

Why were there 4 shutdowns under Trump? Because the democrats wouldn't let him have a win. They shut it down when Republicans all voted to keep government open, they thought it would hurt him and eventually they had to vote for it. Tell the truth

1

u/FionaWalliceFan 2h ago

Looks like you fell for some misinformation. During the last shutdown, Trump forbade Republicans from compromising with Democrats to reopen the government

1

u/Economy_Science7040 2h ago

Why didn't democrats compromise? All Republicans voted to reopen, the democrats voted no. Get your facts straight

1

u/FionaWalliceFan 2h ago

Why did Trump forbid Republicans from compromising? A compromise would have actually resulted in the government reopening. Get your facts straight

1

u/Economy_Science7040 2h ago

There's video evidence of democrat leadership telling the morons on your side to not compromise and make the American people hurt, then the republicans will have to cave. That's fu@ked up

1

u/FionaWalliceFan 2h ago

Do you have a source for that video?

1

u/Economy_Science7040 57m ago

Do a friggin search. Schiff, AOC and at least one other said it

1

u/FionaWalliceFan 55m ago

Yeah I did a search, I couldn't find any evidence of them encouraging other Democrats not to compromise and that they didn't care whether or not the American people would hurt because of the shutdown

But I could find a clip of Trump saying that (see the video I attached earlier)

-6

u/PinoyXP 16h ago

Yet here he is. Trump is stronger than ever! USA! USA! USA!

-17

u/Sad_Librarian11 23h ago

3rd term incoming

6

u/fflloorriiddaammaann 23h ago

That’s not allowed under the constitution, but I’m sure that won’t matter, Republicans seem to only care about the 2nd amendment, and no other part of the constitution

-2

u/OutrageousCrab9224 23h ago

Even then, enforcement and interpretation is favorably selective

4

u/Low-Essay-113 23h ago

So
 even more shutdowns, got it.

6

u/Tweak89 22h ago

This admin admitted in court that they cut grants to Blue states solely because they didn't vote for Trump. It's clear they are doing the same thing with disaster aid. If Republicans don't remove him for that, then the next Democrat admin can do the same thing and cut funds and disaster aid to red states. Is that really a path Republicans want to go down?

3

u/BeanCheezBeanCheez 23h ago

We know that magats are the dumbest people to ever exist on earth but how could anyone possibly want more of dumps circus?

→ More replies (1)

-6

u/PetuniaPickleswurth 22h ago

It’s just approves that the Democrats attempt to thwart the president‘s agenda more frequently than others. Thanks for the proof.

-7

u/SFC-D 22h ago

Bill Clinton says what?

2

u/SweetPrism 17h ago

That was 30 years ago, dipshit.

-10

u/Empty-Pressure2869 23h ago

Who is it that shuts down the government?

6

u/OutrageousCrab9224 23h ago

Bitching and whining between supposed diplomats whose only move is to take their ball and go home

2

u/Edub89556 23h ago

You do see the common denominator, correct?

-8

u/Bastonge44 23h ago

7

u/ArchonFett 23h ago

More like “the pilot is flying the plane straight into the ground why won’t the copilot take the stick from him”

3

u/HippieHighNoon 22h ago

Cause the copilot can't fly either.

3

u/ArchonFett 22h ago

True. But that’s all I got that fits the analogy

0

u/Bastonge44 22h ago

I agree with you there.

-9

u/Consenting_Dick 21h ago

You can thank the Dems for the shutdowns

3

u/Fridge_living_tips 21h ago

Republicans control the house and senate

And the presidency and a 6/3 conservative leaning.

I dont care which party but if you cant do your job with all the keys on tour belt then you shouldnt lead

-1

u/Consenting_Dick 20h ago

Still need the Dems vote to keep the government running but they keep voting to shut it down. Know your roll call! Same as last major shutdown all Republicans voted to keep it open and the Dems voted to shutter it

2

u/Fridge_living_tips 19h ago

Compromise.

And wasnt the last shut down ended when the government decided to not do government duties like ensurimg it’s people dont starve to death. No wonder it shut down when republicans cant even feed people

3

u/Flenke 21h ago

Only if you don't think

-7

u/Cup_ma_fuzynuggs 20h ago

The Democrats are the people who keep shutting it down.

-8

u/imissher4ever 23h ago

Pretty sure the POTUS doesn’t control the shutdowns. That’s the Legislative Branch.

3

u/Beauvoir_R 22h ago

Are you referring to DJT, the guy notorious among all presidents for having almost absolute control over his party? A party that currently controls every branch of government? A party that continues to blame everyone else and take no responsibility for anything, despite all that control?

-1

u/GrillinFool 18h ago

Without 60 votes then you need the minority party or they can hold the government hostage which has happened multiple times during Trumps presidency’s.

Funny how people with so little understanding of how the government works are so willing to die on the hill about government procedures.

1

u/Beauvoir_R 18h ago

More excuses. On brand.

-1

u/GrillinFool 18h ago

Completely ignorant of the subject yet still arguing. Absolutely on brand. Makes it easier to spoon feed you the BS you defend with absolute certainty yet completely wrong.

Do you even know what the filibuster is and how it pertains to this discussion? I’ll wait while you google it.

2

u/Beauvoir_R 18h ago

Wait, wait, wait..... You mean to tell me that the president has no control over shutdowns? Mind-blowing. So then why did the president say that it reflects poorly on him and makes him look weak? Does he not understand how the government works?

-1

u/GrillinFool 17h ago

Do you?

The president is in charge of enforcing laws. The Congress is in charge of funding the government. Funding shut downs are solely on congress.

I guess Trump said that thinking that adults wouldn’t act like babies when they don’t get their way and shut down the government every chance they can. He should have seen that coming though because he acts like a bigger baby than anyone on the planet.

3

u/Beauvoir_R 17h ago

Or maybe he said it because he felt that a capable president could rally his party and effectively reach an agreement across party lines....... Via the art of the deal!

Wouldn't want to appear weak and ineffective to the public. One might be tempted to find ways to excuse their shortcomings if that happened.

1

u/GrillinFool 17h ago

Ok, one more time. If one party doesn’t have 60 votes in the Senate, the minority party can hold the government hostage.

Maybe one day when you get into High school you will understand how all of this works. Then again, probably not.

1

u/Traditional_Isopod80 18h ago

Trump said the President is supposed to bring people together.

1

u/imissher4ever 7h ago

You can not bring haters together to love.

-9

u/drewq25 23h ago

Now let’s ask what party is doing the shutdown? Hint rhymes with democrats

5

u/ThePhoenixXM 22h ago

So how does that work when the GOP has FULL control of the government right now? They have Congress AND the White House.

-2

u/drewq25 22h ago

You obviously don’t understand how government works. I’ll break it down for you.
Just because you are in the majority doesn’t mean you have control in congress and senate. And if all the democrats refuse to vote to keep government open the republicans don’t have enough votes to pass legislation. That’s why we need to vote obstructionist members out of office- regardless of party. You’re welcome

4

u/ThePhoenixXM 21h ago

Next time, a shutdown happens, and you DON'T have the numbers to pass your agenda, actually y'know properly negotiate instead of hardballing it and going on recess to extend the pain like the GOP did. The GOP, in my view, failed to negotiate at all because let me tell you, name-calling the Democrats ISN'T good negotiating. You have to give concessions to pass. That means dropping the Save America Act, which is unpopular with Democrats or the people.

0

u/drewq25 19h ago

Cool voter ID is raciest, misogynistic, whatever you want to call it. That’s the biggest joke buy me a beer but when bartender asks you for ID it’s so easy and no complaints. Your argument is invalid and ridiculous at face value. You are upset that people just want legal voters voting. Not the merits of the argument. I bet you live with your mom and use a cat as a dick coozie

-4

u/RandysDealer 22h ago

You probably don’t want an answer to your question I’m guessing. Just think about it for a minute. Republicans shut down the government because they were trying to pass Republican things?

3

u/ThePhoenixXM 22h ago

You don't understand how government works or how piss poor the Republicans are negotiating. During the shutdowns, the GOP would rather go on long recesses than negotiate, and their negotiating style usually consists of bad-mouthing Democrats and offering NO concessions. They don't have the numbers to overcome the filibuster, so a key to negotiating is giving concessions; the GOP refused, so they went on recess, causing the shutdown to go on longer.

-3

u/RandysDealer 22h ago

Again, which party caused the shutdowns under Trump?

I know blah blah emotional republicans bad, I agree, but on the actual topic could you answer the question without an emotional diatribe?

4

u/ThePhoenixXM 21h ago

Republicans, because as I said in my post, you clearly DIDN'T read or understand that the GOP has FULL control of government, and they don't negotiate in good faith whatsoever. The party with BOTH houses of Congress and the executive branch has to take responsibility for causing the shutdowns. If they had negotiated in good faith like normal parties usually do, no shutdowns would've happened.

Look, at Biden, he had 0 shutdowns according to that graphic, and he had a quite uncooperative Congress, but he negotiated properly and passed funding bills WITHOUT the need for a shutdown.

-5

u/RandysDealer 21h ago

So republicans shut down the government in order to not pass their own bills. Gotcha. Again, be objective and not emotional.

5

u/ThePhoenixXM 21h ago

Yes, because they are soulless party that only want to hurt people. I'm down to talking to MAGA people like you, as you MAGAs only want to blame Dems while excusing the poor actions of the GOP.

-6

u/57Chevyguy57 23h ago

đŸ˜‚đŸ˜‚đŸ˜‚đŸ€”wierd right?

-11

u/FamilysFirst 23h ago

Are you people really that dumb? It’s the OPPOSING PARTY THAT SHUTS DOWN THE GOVERNMENT!

9

u/Time_Change4156 23h ago

How's that work when Republicans control all parts of federal government ?

-2

u/FamilysFirst 19h ago

Do you know anything about how the Federal Government works? You need 60 VOTES to PASS FUNDING BILLS. If EVERY Republican votes to FUND THE GOVERNMENT and keep it OPEN, they fall short of the 60 VOTES! That means that THE DEMOCRATS SHUT DOWN THE GOVERNMENT!

So they then have to do a continuing Resolution Bill to Fund the Government for a short period of time.

2

u/Time_Change4156 19h ago

True Maybe just maybe they should do as Demacrates suggested and put fourth one bill no extra crap hidden in it . It's not like that isn't a good idea but how else they going to pass things that only benefit them if it's one clear thing ? Now a single thing bill being voted on say the border which they voted against weird isn't it ? would solve the problems of them getting blocked.

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Gene909 19h ago

Mr deal maker can’t make a deal?

5

u/ThePhoenixXM 22h ago

And the GOP has had full control of the government during Trump's shutdown this term?

1

u/FamilysFirst 19h ago

I’m beginning to think that NOBODY on Reddit is educated

Do you know anything about how the Federal Government works? You need 60 VOTES to PASS FUNDING BILLS. If EVERY Republican votes to FUND THE GOVERNMENT and keep it OPEN, they fall short of the 60 VOTES! That means that THE DEMOCRATS SHUT DOWN THE GOVERNMENT, because they all voted to not Fund it! Do you understand it now?

So they then have to do a continuing Resolution Bill to Fund the Government for a short period of time.

4

u/Ok-Instruction-5004 22h ago

You dont make sense.

0

u/FamilysFirst 14h ago

Well then you’re just not that bright
It’s fairly simple to understand, even for a simpleton such as you

It takes 60 VOTES
 THAT’S 6-0
 60. The Republicans have only 53 Senators
That’s 5-3, 53! Now is 53 greater than 60, or less than 60? Are you following me so far? So if EVERY REPUBLICAN VOTES to KEEP THE GOVERNMENT OPEN, do they have enough votes? If they don’t, how many DEMOCRAT SENATORS DO THEY NEED TO FUND THE GOVERNMENT?

IF EVERY REPUBLICAN VOTED TO FUND THE GOVERNMENT and KEEP IT OPEN, did they shut it down? So you NEED DEMOCRATS to either FUND & OPEN the Government
IF THEY DON’T GET ENOUGH SENATORS TO VOTE TO FUND AND OPEN THE GOVERNMENT, IT’S THE DEMOCRATS WHO SHUT IT DOWN

If you can’t understand that, you’re intellectually handicapped

If Republicans don't remove him for that, then the next Democrat admin can do the same thing and cut funds and disaster aid to red states. Is that really a path Republicans want to go down? The fact that they did that shows that Republicans are the massive assholes.

-2

u/bobwhocares 22h ago

They didn’t cut federal aid because they didn’t vote for trump. They did it because they chose to ignore what was expected of them. There is a difference

3

u/Tweak89 22h ago

-2

u/bobwhocares 22h ago

Of course it is based on politics everything is it’s green funding they were bade possible because of politics

2

u/Tweak89 22h ago

Did you read the article? They cancelled it 'based solely on the political identity of the grant recipient’s state'. Green energy projects were not cancelled in red states. So you'll have no problem then if future Democrat admins cancel grants for Red states solely because they didn't vote Dem?

1

Honestly i don’t give two shits because I will not ever get a government grant and most of the grants out there are not really needed to begin with. They are wasted spending like studying sex lives of a bug or to fund green energy that’s super expensive and they are giving these grants to people who are friends and or family of whoever is giving them out

Better hope you don't have a disaster. Take a look at disaster aid requests and approvals, this admin is clearly doing the same thing there. So why should a future Democrat admin care about disasters in red states when Republicans don't care about disasters in blue states.

Because two wrongs don’t make a right

Honestly the democrats have done stuff just as bad and or worse all this tit for tat stuff shouldn’t even be going on. These people were elected to do what’s right for us citizens and our country and the last 2 decades have been nothing but them trying to get back at each other and nothing gets done. I think the government as a whole sucks and they are not doing their jobs they are doing stupid things to get back at each other

Maybe if you create another sockpuppet account to defend Republican mismanagement, your father will finally tell you he loves you. That is, if you can find him first.
