The name of a place being mentioned in a historical document doesnt mean it cannot be changed.

This is like saying that because Istanbul was called Constantinople in some Roman document it can't be called Istanbul today.

It's a silly argument.

There’s a lawful process. He doesn’t believe in process, nor does he follow it. He’s not a king, he needs to bring this before lawmakers to lawfully change the name. His signature comes after that.

Their point is that a Senate ratified treaty can NEVER be overridden by an executive order. It is becomes “the supreme law of the land”.

The treaty doesn't establish the name of the lake, it simply mentions the lake.

The lake being mentioned in a historical document does not mean that the lake can't have its name changed.

Ever think that a treaty between adjacent nations is more than a simple "historical" document? It's an agreement that is intended to have an enduring legal effect (at least until Diaper Donnie decides to wipe his arse with it). And the treaty uses Lake Ontario to identify the boundaries of the sovereignty of the respective signators.

Because the U.S. Senate ratified the treaty and George Washington signed it, the agreement remains the supreme law of the land under the U.S. Constitution (see previous clause relating to whether the Constitution is an enduring legal document).
