These morons only want the destruction of western civilization, and it's so sickening seeing people think like this. Reddit is a far left echo chamber.

We can't lose the race to a surveillance state like China has, we need more. Who wants one in their city or rural area

I'm an author, for those who don't know, if you want to get your book published by a publishing house, you need an agent. Publishing houses like Penguin, do not take unsolicited manuscripts or answer emails, unless from a publishing agency.
So Authors have to basically send resumes to agents who are accepting query letters so they can possibly get their book published. It's incredibly competitive as there are not that many agents out there.
Now, I write fantasy, and I'm a white dude. About half of agents don't do fantasy, okay fair play. But the ones who do are at least half of the time looking for BIPOC or LGBTQ writers.
They have descriptions of what they are looking for in their bios, and I see stuff like this at least every other agent.
"Alexandra is committed to working with writers from diverse backgrounds and is looking to put forth a list of outstanding creators who will be able to provide windows, mirrors, and sliding glass doors into all kinds of experiences. She’s looking for own-voice stories about historically underrepresented identities and cultures."
"Courtney is primarily looking for authors and illustrators of picture books, middle grade, and graphic novels. She is open to select young adult and adult projects. She’s actively seeking stories that reflect diverse backgrounds, cultures, and experiences, as well as underrepresented voices and perspectives."
"Jessica is looking for romance, upmarket fiction, book club fiction, as well as some limited suspense and nonfiction. Across the board, she’s looking for books that celebrate diversity in all its forms, and would love to see novels with BIPOC and LGBTQ+ characters."
"Taj McCoy aims to widen the entryway for marginalized authors and to normalize Black joy, fat joy, celebrations of culture, and love without limitations."
"Allegra is looking for marginalized writers with beautifully crafted speculative fiction in the Young Adult, Crossover, and Adult space. Fantasy, science fiction, fabulism, horror, romance, book club, thrillers, mystery—it doesn’t matter the home genre so long as there is an added speculative or magical element.
Allegra is only open to marginalized writers. You can find more about what they’re looking for on their website."
"Tali is a champion for underrepresented voices, and she gives back by offering mentorship to up-and-coming writers and running workshops on legal issues writers should consider.
Across all genres and age groups, Tali would love to see projects from BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, disabled, neurodiverse, and chronically ill communities"
"Megan is looking for writers in a variety of areas, and from a wide range of backgrounds – she is particularly keen to hear from Black, Asian, and LGBTQIA+ writers across all genres. At the moment, she is prioritising authors writing MG, YA and new adult/adult commercial fiction. She is also open to hearing from self-published authors that want to discuss subsidiary rights representation and moving into trade publishing."
This is just some of the more recent ones I've seen. If you're wondering why all media is becoming so woke, it's because regular authors and stories are being bottlenecked by these weirdos.
Edit: So I looked at 49 random agents and made a spreadsheet to determine what percentage discriminate based off of Race, Sexuality, or underrepresented groups. 28 of those 59 openly state they are looking for authors that fit those boxes, either preferably, or exclusively.

Isn't politics funny to watch sometimes? All it takes to change your view is being told it's the new thing by your particular flavor of govt.

nothing better to do all day than drive around with a anti-trump sign, the left will claim there aren't paid protesters. and if he had gotten hit by a car he probably would have blamed it on Trump. how do they get taken seriously at all? yeah the useful ideologues can be dangerous, but they don't have any real power, it's hilarious and tragic.

In her latest sciolistic letter to me, @SenWarren made it clear that she knows even less about foreign exchange markets than she does about banking. What is equally shocking, but not surprising: not a single member of the media mob has a rudimentary-enough level of financial market literacy to spot her remedial error.
