Hi, this year a group of my mates decided to start a book club as a bit of a laugh. We are all in our 30’s and straight but next month is my pick and I think it would be hilarious to pick a romance/spicy novel. Most of us enjoy reading fantasy so we could flirt with the idea of a romantasy but I really don’t want a book that is very much just describing the blokes if you know what I mean.

If this is too much to ask I’m also open to the idea of just a really weird spicey one, thanks in advance 🫡

I need a a book that’s going to stick with me for a long time. A book that I can read for hours and never get bored. I like thriller, horror, sci fi, and fantasy. Hi! I feel like I'm only seeing the popular books as recommendations and I'd love some romance books that aren't just remakes of stories already published. Spice is okay but I'd prefer it to not be overly spicy, 4/5 at most. I love pretty much every genre, romantasy and horror/thriller are probably my favourites! Recommend me a romance book you love :)

Sorry for the vagueness of the title but I didn't know what to put while asking for two different things.

1) my partner has been talking a lot about wanting to read a book that has time travel on it, and I think he's more drawn of books that travel to the future. I have not read a single one like that so I don't know what I could get him.

2) Maybe a bit of an odd request, but in the hunger games I really like that the main character hunts and collects things and then you trades for other items and manages to survive like that. I don't know if I'm explaining myself correctly but I hope you catch my vibe.

Ever since I started my new job in january, reading for pleasure has been a struggle. I used to average 20-25 books / year, so I was never a crazy worm, but this year has been slow af for me. The problem is my job is intellectual and requires me to read and think a lot so reading in my breaks becomes really tiring if the book is dense.

So, I want books that are fast-paced, with light prose, easy to read and exciting! Books that can be easily read in 10-15 minute spurts. I read everything, from fantasy to mystery. If you do recommend fantasy I just ask that its not epic fantasy a la GoT because that's a lot of brain power to keep up with. I also enjoy classics, but most classics have heavier prose that my brain refuses to read after a day's work.

I'm looking for a book about American Urban Legends. I've tried multiple bookstores, but no joy. The closest anyone seems to have for me are haunted places or ufo's.

Don't get me wrong, both of those are cool and I'd love to dive into them, but I'm specifically looking for Urban Legends.

Anyone looking for a new read? I recently picked up a novel from a small local New England author and ended up really enjoying it, so I wanted to give it a shoutout!

Called Memoirs of the Felmed Coof by Ran Kime.

It’s autofiction, so the story is rooted in real-life experiences but exaggerated and reimagined in different ways.

The storytelling is a little abstract and takes you on a journey through one person’s life and all the different people they encounter along the way. There’s really never a dull moment. It’s quirky, unpredictable, and kept me turning the pages because I genuinely wanted to see where the story would go next. The characters also feel like real people rather than just characters in a book, and you start to understand and root for them as the story unfolds.

I’m always happy to support smaller/local authors, and this one was definitely worth the read. If you like character-driven books, unconventional storytelling, and stories that blur the line between fiction and real life, I’d recommend giving it a try!

I’m an artist and somewhat of an housewife who listens to youtube commentary drama videos or retrospectives on things i never watched for background noise. Think like, “Tiktok’s most hated animator ****” or Toatify’s videos. I’m looking for books that fill that same kind of weird curiosity and intrigue that’s similar to those videos. I think i like those videos because they’re entertaining but i don’t pressure myself to actively listening to whatever I’m listening to, for context if that’s helpful

I hope some of you watched the series FROM. Do you have any ideas of a book that has the same atmosphere? I’m looking for something that has the same mystery and horror like it. I love the idea of people being haunted by unnatural beings and trying to escape them. Also, I would love a book that forces you to notice the small details in order to understand the story as the series does.
