Hello all, following a recent doom spiral about current events. (flock cameras, ICE, new detention center coming here, data centers etc). I want to start voting more with my money. Just to feel like I’m doing something with my worker bee honey I have left. Where can I shop locally for things like meat, groceries, clothing, furniture, or even properties,plants, pet supplies and services…Like who’s grandma has the best plates? I just want to make a master list of hidden gems that are hidden because they’re not promoted as much because big business is over community.

Where are these swarms of bugs coming from? I noticed them my entire commute home and then they were everywhere when I got home on park.

Hi everyone. I’ve been looking to rehome my cat for the past few months after unexpectedly finding out that I have to leave the Rochester area this month. I’ve reached out to almost every shelter and agency in the area, but unfortunately, they’ve either placed me on a waitlist or haven’t been able to help. I’ve also posted in Facebook groups and rehoming websites, but haven’t had any luck so far.

I’m running out of time and really need help finding a safe and loving home for my cat. If anyone is able to take him in, knows someone who may be able to, or knows of a shelter or rescue agency that can accept him ASAP, please reach out to me.

I just want to make sure my cat is safe and cared for. Any leads or recommendations would mean so much to me.

I'm looking for work and have over a decade of experience in call centers in technical roles, I have experiencing with networking linux, and remote terminals. I've applied a few times but keep getting blocked by the APS. I was talking with my connection at DoL and she said see if anyone knows anyone who can speak for me in any way shape or form. I've been out of work for over 6 months and I feel like IT in Rochester may be a no go for me.

Are there any film makers/directors that are looking for a person to make a film with? I live in the area and was thinking about being in a short film, whether it’s a main, side, or background character. Im 21, 6’1, skinny/athletic build, and African American. I don’t have much experience in acting, besides a drama class i did for about, 5-6 years when i was younger, but i definitely take on skills easily. So if there is anyone around the area that wants to film something or get together and make up an idea/ideas, i would love to.

Driving/shopping through there frequently & today while driving I passed some local parks and could see *multiple* massive swarms of bugs catching the sunlight just right (looked like giant clouds of pollen in the air). I have seen swarms of bugs before obviously but these were really large & looked abnormal. I didn’t understand what I was looking at for a moment.

I then stopped at Empire Wegmans & only seconds after parking there were already tiny black bugs all over my car. I could see multiple immediately landing on the windshield before I could hardly finish putting the thing in park. When I got out of the car I noticed the entire roof was already covered in them & the cars parked around me had a crazy amount all over them too. Then just the short walk between the store & my car I was actually getting them all over me? To the point where just kept my head down and ,admittedly, held my breath a little bit because I kept walking face first into them & I didn’t even park far away. I was finding them all caught in my arm & leg hair & all over my clothes after I had gotten back in the car. This seems excessive compared to normal & certainly was standing out today more than before. I don’t know enough about insects, but they look like Fungus Gnats or something. Has anyone else noticed this today/recently or am I crazy?

My daughter has a, new to her, iPhone 11 that’s been having some issues that I believe are mechanical in nature. I believe one of the side buttons is messed up somehow and I am not skilled enough (or confident enough) to take the phone apart myself.

I’ve tried every online search to remedy to problem through different settings and whatnot, so I truly believe that it is a mechanical issue.

I took her to the Apple Store in eastview mall and all they did was try to upsell us on an iphone 16 🙄. No thanks, she’s only a teenager and the 11 is more than enough.

Hello neighbors! We got a scary quote 3 years ago, $17k to repair our chimney. Shocked me so I haven't taken any action on it since.

Wondering if folks have recommendation for preferred chimney work. I'll hold off on sharing who came out, but the sticker shock was immense.
