Can someone explain to me why so people don't want a train and why its been taking so long?
I know a lot of older people don't want a train here, however every younger person I've talked to about this love the idea of having a train. I think a lot of people would take it. I have heard people say its pointless for such a small town, but if we get a train cant it eventually get connected elsewhere too? like Monterey or to cal train. Its crazy to me that people are fighting a train that could be helpful for so many people.
Edit:
'A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they shall never sit in'
It really saddens me how pessimistic people are, not just that, how much people don't care about helping other people. If they wont use it why should we get it? Very sad how individualistic people are.
1) I have seen a lot of tax conversations... taxes funding war in another country but not a train at home? wouldn't you want to see your taxes do SOMETHING good for your people?
2) Many have talked about changing Santa Cruz? umm that's already happening if you have a train or not...
3) Yes, there are no plans to extend it out but if we get a train it becomes an option to extend
