Mmorpg game where you claim territories based on real location
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hello guys,
I made a game inspired by Parallel Kingdom old game.
It is a free to play mmorpg sandbox where you can claim territories based on real world locations by building flags. Hunt monsters and chopping trees for resources. Build structure like manors to store items. Found a cities based on real world cities and found a kingdom where you can unite with other players and wage wars with others.
It is a browser-based so you can play wherever.

Rebuilt my leaderboard architecture because I was unknowingly testing in a bubble

For the past few months, I’ve been using a flat JSON file setup for my leaderboard backend. One file for desktop builds, one for browser builds. They were completely isolated.
It worked during early testing, so I didn't think twice about it. Until last week when I realized my own web runs weren't showing up on the main board. I had been testing exclusively in the desktop wrapper and built a local/global UI split that was completely unnecessary and confusing.
I finally bit the bullet and migrated everything properly:
- Swapped flat JSON files for a MariaDB/MySQL setup.
- Created a lightweight PHP endpoint handling platform parameters (
mac,pc,linux, web). - Shifted ranking and percentile calculations entirely server-side.
- Dropped local storage fallbacks so every valid score syncs to a single, unified global table.
During migration, I found a handful of orphaned high scores sitting in browser local storage that never got sent to the server (including my own personal best).
Curious how other solo devs handle lightweight backends. Do you usually roll your own PHP/SQL endpoints for simple things like scoreboards, or do you jump straight to tools like LootLocker / PlayFab?
(If anyone wants to stress-test the scoreboard or check how the global rank display feels, it’s running live at blitzlaststand.com/demo)

After one year of development, I'm incredibly happy to finally have the Trials of Liberation DEMO live on Steam!
What started as a simple idea grew into something much bigger than I originally expected.
The demo is finally available for FREE on Steam!
I'd love to hear what you think! Whether it's the puzzles, the progression, the visuals, or anything else, feedback is always welcome.
And if you enjoy it, adding the game to your wishlist would mean a lot!

Greetings everyone, I just launched my game, PROJECT.98 on Steam!
Game is a roguelike with visuals inspired heavily by old versions of windows 95 to 2000 software from that era, I'm really a fan of this sort of aesthetics, and I always enjoyed toying with game engines and creating stuff, this is my first commercial project as a solo dev, if you are interested, I kindly invite you to check the steam page:

Of course any feedback you want to give is very welcome.

Solo dev balancing a day job and a 10-month-old baby. Just dropped the first playable tech prototype of my 1st-person sci-fi ocean horror game "Darkness from the Depths". What do you think?

Hi everyone!
For years, game dev was just a playground for me—messing around in Blender and Unreal Engine to see what I could do. But when my son was born, it completely shifted my perspective. I realized life is too short to ignore your dreams. Now, I scrape together 1-3 hours a day after work and family duties to build my dream game.
About the Game:
"Darkness from the Depths" is a first-person, sci-fi psychological horror heavily inspired by Dredge. You play as a lone robot searching for the meaning of its existence in a drowned, post-apocalyptic world. A cosmic cataclysm wiped out humanity, leaving only mutated deep-sea creatures that hunt when darkness falls.
Current Status:
I'm 5 months in. The boat mechanics are about 50% ready, and the Tarkov/RE4-style grid inventory is 99% functional.
Play the Prototype:
I believe in completely open development. I just packaged a raw technical build (v0.0.1) so anyone can jump in and test how the boat handles and how the inventory feels. There are no sounds or enemies yet, just pure core mechanics.
Links to the free build and my devlog are in the first comment below!
I would absolutely love to hear your honest feedback on the feel and visuals.

When I played Enter the Gungeon I really liked the fact that the UI showed the player's interaction with the weapon being held, so I decided to experiment with the idea, and created a animated asset pack focused on that. (With a lot of extras too lol)
