I just released the first gameplay trailer for my game and it’s really important to me to find out who might be interested in a game like this.

Sinners. Neutrals. Saints. 15 factions. 3 unique currencies. Immense opportunities for interaction and a unique gaming experience in a richly developed universe. Which adventure will you choose?

Working on the gacha system for my first ever

Hey everyone! This is actually my first time posting on Reddit, so nice to meet you all!
This is the first game I’ve ever made, and I’m learning game development from scratch as I go.
I’m currently working on a small zombie survival mobile game, and recently I’ve been building the gacha/summoning system.
It’s still very much a work in progress, but I’m pretty happy with how it’s starting to feel.
I’m curious how the animation and overall presentation look to someone seeing it for the first time.
Does the summon feel satisfying? Anything you would change or improve?
Any feedback is appreciated!

After one year of development, I'm incredibly happy to finally have the Trials of Liberation DEMO live on Steam!

What started as a simple idea grew into something much bigger than I originally expected.

The demo is finally available for FREE on Steam!

I'd love to hear what you think! Whether it's the puzzles, the progression, the visuals, or anything else, feedback is always welcome.

Play the Demo

And if you enjoy it, adding the game to your wishlist would mean a lot!

Greetings everyone, I just launched my game, PROJECT.98 on Steam!

Game is a roguelike with visuals inspired heavily by old versions of windows 95 to 2000 software from that era, I'm really a fan of this sort of aesthetics, and I always enjoyed toying with game engines and creating stuff, this is my first commercial project as a solo dev, if you are interested, I kindly invite you to check the steam page:

Of course any feedback you want to give is very welcome.

A few weeks ago this was basically just a mannequin standing in front of a spinning Earth. It's finally starting to look like an actual courtroom now.

Solo dev balancing a day job and a 10-month-old baby. Just dropped the first playable tech prototype of my 1st-person sci-fi ocean horror game "Darkness from the Depths". What do you think?

Hi everyone!

For years, game dev was just a playground for me—messing around in Blender and Unreal Engine to see what I could do. But when my son was born, it completely shifted my perspective. I realized life is too short to ignore your dreams. Now, I scrape together 1-3 hours a day after work and family duties to build my dream game.

About the Game:

"Darkness from the Depths" is a first-person, sci-fi psychological horror heavily inspired by Dredge. You play as a lone robot searching for the meaning of its existence in a drowned, post-apocalyptic world. A cosmic cataclysm wiped out humanity, leaving only mutated deep-sea creatures that hunt when darkness falls.

Current Status:

I'm 5 months in. The boat mechanics are about 50% ready, and the Tarkov/RE4-style grid inventory is 99% functional.

Play the Prototype:

I believe in completely open development. I just packaged a raw technical build (v0.0.1) so anyone can jump in and test how the boat handles and how the inventory feels. There are no sounds or enemies yet, just pure core mechanics.

Links to the free build and my devlog are in the first comment below!
I would absolutely love to hear your honest feedback on the feel and visuals.

Take a look at the visual progress of our game

We announced our game at a Ukrainian Games Festival, but due to time constraints, we had to settle for an early announcement with whatever we had at the time.

We’re currently actively developing our game, and I’d like you to see the difference in the improved graphics and whether they capture the atmosphere of a universe similar to MAD MAX.

As a small team of one 3d artist and one programmer, we're currently working on concepts for a new visual style. We’d like to show you what a location looks like with sand scattered on the road.

P.S. This is our first experience with game development. We’d appreciate any recommendations regarding visual aspects: guides, videos, articles, etc.

Rebuilt my leaderboard architecture because I was unknowingly testing in a bubble

For the past few months, I’ve been using a flat JSON file setup for my leaderboard backend. One file for desktop builds, one for browser builds. They were completely isolated.

It worked during early testing, so I didn't think twice about it. Until last week when I realized my own web runs weren't showing up on the main board. I had been testing exclusively in the desktop wrapper and built a local/global UI split that was completely unnecessary and confusing.

I finally bit the bullet and migrated everything properly:

  • Swapped flat JSON files for a MariaDB/MySQL setup.
  • Created a lightweight PHP endpoint handling platform parameters (macpclinuxweb).
  • Shifted ranking and percentile calculations entirely server-side.
  • Dropped local storage fallbacks so every valid score syncs to a single, unified global table.

During migration, I found a handful of orphaned high scores sitting in browser local storage that never got sent to the server (including my own personal best).

Curious how other solo devs handle lightweight backends. Do you usually roll your own PHP/SQL endpoints for simple things like scoreboards, or do you jump straight to tools like LootLocker / PlayFab?

(If anyone wants to stress-test the scoreboard or check how the global rank display feels, it’s running live at blitzlaststand.com/demo)

When I played Enter the Gungeon I really liked the fact that the UI showed the player's interaction with the weapon being held, so I decided to experiment with the idea, and created a animated asset pack focused on that. (With a lot of extras too lol)

Making a hibachi restaurant level in my Katamari-like consumption game

Making a consumption game where you're really small and get bigger by eating things, alla Katamari or Hole.io.

I love games where you're really really tiny in the human world (pikmin, katamari)

I'm looking for one more level idea if anybody has something funny :)
