I got a PSVR2 recently and it's been working super well for the past 2 weeks. However, today I have got a weird issue that hasn't happened before.
My controllers connect and work in SteamVR, but when I'm using certain apps in the desktop, SteamVR ceases to see the controllers. No buttons work or anything. The controllers remain paired to the PC and connected via Bluetooth, but SteamVR does not see them. The VR dashboard doesn't see it and the controller tester registers no inputs. The programs that I have verified this problem to be on are Discord, Microsoft Edge, Firefox, and Task Manager. It doesn't happen on Steam windows, Windows Explorer, or IntelliJ IDEA. When any of the problematic windows are no longer the active window, the controller immediately gets picked up by SteamVR again.
I've tried:
- Rebooting (many times!)
- Re-paring the controllers
- Plugging the PSVR2 adapter to a different USB
- Verifying files on SteamVR and the PSVR2 App
- Reinstalling SteamVR and the PSVR2 app
- Punching my desk and yelling expletives in frustration
- Deleting SteamVR config files and starting fresh
None of these worked and I was wondering if anyone had any solutions before I hit the nuclear option of reinstalling Windows. I gotta be able to use Discord when I'm gaming
EDIT: Another thing - when the controllers are in the not working state, I see a bunch of lights (presumably IR or something) on the ring part of the controller when using the headset's passthrough mode. They are not visible in reality, only on the passthrough
