You’re about to leave the register to take your break or clock out for the day and you say, “Eh I’ll just take one more.” Famous last words, that customer always ends up being someone with an extremely complicated return with a pile of unorganized receipts and items without price tags. Then when you finally get the return done, you say, “Okay so please press email or print. Thank you have a nice day.” But then they say, “Wait….I have one more.” Another complicated return. You say, “Okay thanks have a nice day.” But then, “Wait, I have one more.” Now it’s a giant box of online returns! Thankfully most of the time, the CEC offers to make the tags for the online returns and lets me clock out.

I’m two months in and I’m still so slow doing things.

I‘m okay with working at register and doing fright.

But as soon as they tell me to rearrange merchandise on shelfs to look better I just freeze and take so much time to do it.

Today they told me to rearrange all the socks by color (you should start with lighter colors), length and thicknes. It took me THREE HOURS to do it, and it still wasn’t good (all socks were multicolor so it was pretty subjective as to which one should come first based on the shade of color).

Manager comes to see, and rearranges the entire section within 10 minutes. Like wtf. And they sent me home “to get some rest”.

My TJ Maxx allows UGG-style slippers with hard soles. I bought a pair of dupes that have a hard rubber sole, fully cover the toes, but are open in the back (heel area). Would these be allowed?

I get an ear full for calling in sick, but my co worker has no called no showed 7-8 time in 2 mouths and not fired. Hell I don't think she has gonna a write up. How do these other people get away with it?

hi this is my first post i’m not sure if anyone’s posted about their before but i work at a tjmaxx and i will never understand why people will open our products, RIP the packaging open, USE THEM on their skin/ lips, and leave the product just sitting out next to the packaging. i know dang well they wouldn’t walk over to ulta or any other beauty store and do that so why are we the exception? like after the nights over our store is genuinely trashed in beauty because of this. help.

What kind of drug test is it? I only smoke weed and I’ve completely stopped for a week now and I’ll be transferring from in-store and I’m just wondering what kind of drug test they do if it’s a mouse swab or a urine test and what to expect? I still don’t have a start date, but I have at least a couple weeks and hoping it’s a mouth swab. I posted this one and no one ever answered. I’m really hoping somebody sees this and can answer this question as Google is not helping at all.

My background check was cleared and I received 3 things in my email, the 1-9 form thing that I did in 2 mins, and 2 workday tasks, but when I click the link on the workday emails it sends me to login with my email, but when I enter my email and password it says that that email doesn't exist or something. Any help

I’m not usually on cash and I was doing a return and they paid half cash half debit. I got confused and returned the full amount on debit, I believe it was like 110 and they paid around $50 in cash but I returned it all on debit. Is this bad? It went through on the customers card but Im afraid I will get in trouble or it’s gonna screw up in cash office.

Ik managers usually do exceptions all the time but I go by policy pretty much. I’m a CEC so I make sure employees are not holding clearance items or anything like that. I had a customer asking if we can hold these items for her, and she was gonna buy the rest and I told her “you can just not clearance items”. Idk why she got so offended. Btw she’s a young adult like I am. Huffed and shaking her head like “why not? That’s stupid.” I told her it’s policy and it also runs for employees. Also you can only hold your items for 24 hours and we’ll put it back on the floor. OH MAN did she get so “ahh well that’s dumb. Why? Why?” Girl I just told you it’s policy. Unless you have an emergency and can’t buy EVERYYHING right now than I’ll make that a exception ofc, but you just dropped these items off and stood in line to buy whatever you wanted to buy now. There’s my mini rant.

I am far from the only one looking for this, I know, but my wife has really been searching for this now for several years and we only have one TJMaxx (no sister stores, either!) where we live. Online resale prices are absolutely insane! It would be amazing to grab her one for her birthday coming up. We just can’t spend the time going to the store every single day try and find one. Does anybody have any leads on where to find one of the Moonlight Manor wizard frogs? TIA!!!

Anyone else’s store hiring a bunch of new people like crazy??? I’m fairly new…i’ve been working at marshall’s for almost about 3 months now and i’ve never had a problem with my schedule. I was scheduled for good hours during the summer. Up until recently I let my manager know that I’ll be going in for classes soon before the fall semester started and only told her that i’d be available to work closing shifts monday - Thursday, and the weekend i’m free whenever….I took a look at my schedule for September and they’ve only scheduled me for three days. They also cut my friends hours as well and I’m assuming it’s because of the new hires??? Even then…it shouldn’t affect my schedule?? Idk…i wanted to rant. I’m going to talk to my manager today anyways about fixing my schedule. Hopefully all goes well

I recently got a new phone and transferred all my data except my UKG app didn’t transfer over. Does anyone have the link to access the schedule or the QR code? I asked my manager for it and she never gave me the QR code. TIA🙏!

Here at my store, our manager stays at the store from the time we open until the time we close. He never takes his vacations when he’s supposed to because he’s so worried about being at the store! You have to stay on him about making sure he clocks people in if he wants them to come in for extra hours and once the payroll closes for that week, there are people who haven’t been paid for the hours they have worked. For night shifts that he closes, he doesn’t let anyone go home until 10:30 and if another manager is closing, he would be gone from the store but comes right back to make sure they aren’t leaving the store before then. Is anyone else’s store managers like this?!

Hello this is my first reddit post, I wanna get on here ask if anyone has transferred to a different store and then transferred back to their “original” store. So I started working at tj maxx during the summer and originally had plans to transfer to a location closer to my university. Told my manager about the transferring and said that it would an easy process. I went transferring process and now I start next week. My question is if it’s possible to stay in the same store and not go through with the transfer?

Wasn’t actually an employee but a guy who lived in the area. The ASMs there are GOAT’d and the SM when I trained was dope. Current SM is a tool. I know the DM is scrambling to get this headline fixed.
