i’ve been driving myself mad looking for the aether biome, am i even looking in the right area at this point? i looked up on wiki.gg and its meant to be before the ocean on the same side as jungle, but after the jungle, and given that my world is a large one it’s meant to be relatively deep in the caverns layer, yet it just doesn’t exist? if anyone has suggestions it would be greatly appreciated

so i wanted to do a vanilla 10x spawnrates with my friend, but in order to do so, we need to use journey mode characters. unfortunately he ends up using dupe, GM, and other features that ruin the run. my suggestion is an option menu during world creation to disable or pre-edit certain settings. this will solve the issues of temptation to use these settings, as well as preventing others from using the settings. maybe basic settings could be added to regular worlds as well, such as biome spread, godmode, spawn rates, or weather. idk, what do yall think, good suggestion or nah?

Hello, i want to start a new playthrough of terraria, however, I want to do it with QoL mods (tmodloader excluded since it doesnt have the latest version of the game I think). I tried asking AI for that but didnt really get any good recommendations so I'm asking here for this. Its been a really long time since I played terraria, so I want to beat the game in an enjoyable way without having to grind way too much

Grinding for the hallow key, just now got it.

4 rainbow slimes

Also mobs I can't get an exact count for how many I killed in the hollow.

A bunch of underground desert enemies somehow spawned on the surface outside of a sandstorm, some zombies, a handful of goblins and pirates

And an entire solar eclipse.

That's what it took to get one hallow key, listen I'm aware you only need one, but that's ridiculous, I don't even know yet if the weapon is good, first time players might never know how to open the chest if they don't use guides and stuff because of how lucky you have to get, they need to make it easier to get these.

Yo so I suspected my old laptop may have had malware but have since changed to a new laptop. Since I changed to a new laptop I have been reinstalling my games like normal. But 1 game (Terraria) seems to have 1 file failing to validate everytime I verify the game files through Steam. So now I am basically worried that the 1 file is potential malware from the old device carrying over through Steam cloud or something a potential malware did. And because of this I am now worried of playing the game since the 1 file keeps failing to validate and idk if this is a sign of potential malware or not. I have tried reinstallation and contacting the Devs but nothing worked so now idk and I only use Defenders so I don't think its the AV. I heard malware can corrupt game files too so that's another concern. I haven't launched the game out of fear so idk if there is anything wrong v the game.

Is 1 file failing to validate a sign of potential malware carrying over through cloud or a sign of something potential malware did? If not, can someone explain why to my non tech literate brain? Thx.

Hi, im a new player and i want to get the terrablade super early, i wanted to use the dryand loinclothes glitch but when i reload the world there is still the loinclothes instead of the pickaxes, any tips?

Discovered I can apparently get an infinite water bucket from the angler after 25 quests pre-hardmode? I know nothing about fishing in this game (yet). Wall of flesh will have to wait now I suppose

when im building a wall of flesh arena it spleefs me into lava constantly
when im building just in general it mines like 5 blocks of my build every time i misplace something and go to mine it
like its fine when you're actually mining but even then its rather annoying because i don't generally want to have it mine when... i am not?
like its such a good minion but i just Can't Have It Exist when i'm building or mining because it can and will mine stuff i don't want it to

if any devs see this please make an option to disable cattiva's mining somehow, or at least make it not mine when you are not actively swinging your pickaxe

Before you see this and immediately dog on me for saying that a weapon that is easy to get and quite versatile is “bad” just hear me out

The onyx blaster IS an amazing weapon and it stands out mainly because it can be a great weapon against mechanical bosses and is INCREDIBLY easy to get.

I can see why it’s so good in classic and expert mode playthroughs, but i also see its cracks showing in higher game modes like master mode and legendary mode.
If you are playing master mode or legendary mode then you might get what I’m saying. The uzi is just way better than it and although it IS a 1% drop rate by angry trappers IN THE UNDERGROUND JUNGLE it is still worth it since you can use it against fishron/plantera.

The damage output that the onyx blaster has is just simply not good enough against the massive health pools that the bosses have. I love the onyx blaster. I used it on my first playthrough but I just feel that when i play on higher gamemodes (like my master mode world and now my legendary mode world) it simply wasn’t doing enough damage even when I was getting CLEAR shots

What do you guys think? Am i an idiot? Crazy? It just feels like just isn’t as good and versatile on higher difficulties as people say.

Terraria New Frontiers is one of the biggest content expansion mods ever! Full initial release goals are at the bottom of this post, along with the Discord server link (where we host many polls impacting huge decisions for the mod). Aside from just adding an insane amount of content that remains high quality, it also adds a new base invasion system (fully toggleable, just a feature I wanted to add because of my love of Craft the World, more info in the Discord server) which alone adds an unlimited amount of content.

Here are some general things that are 100% coming (and in order):

• Maces (separate to flails), Rapiers, Clubs, Elemental Mage weapons, Crossbows, Traps, Totems, Battle Standards
• Expanded and reworked vanilla weapon types such as (but not limited to): Yoyos, Launchers, Grenades, Explosives, Spears, Flamethrowers, Boomerangs, Sentries, Flails
• A ton of mini biomes and structures around the world, mini biomes being: small areas that have a custom soundtrack, unique enemies, and an area to explore and loot, but are much smaller and more frequent than normal biomes.
• A ton of bosses found throughout the world. Two things I love about bosses from other games are when they have a fully custom arena and also when they drop materials to craft their weapons (like a spearhead based on the boss to craft a super epic spear) rather than just dropping a bunch of weapons, so both of these will be frequent in New Frontiers boss fights!
• Explosive ranger subclass (blast radius stat which scales explosions, visually as well, speaking of visuals, all explosive related projectiles receive fully redone visuals for their explosions and trails/fuses if they have them!), elemental mage subclass, paladin melee subclass, shaman summoner subclass (totems, battle standards, etc.), hunter ranger subclass (traps, crossbows, etc.), and way too much to list here!
• A new invasion and base defense system (concept stolen directly from Craft the World, although it'll be expanded a TON with way more base defenses) which in itself will add an endless amount of content, especially for those who love building a mega base with ballistas and catapults (and a plethora of other defenses) to defend against waves of enemies!

For the initial release, the goal is 20+ bosses, 100+ enemies, and 1000+ items, all while keeping the mod at a much higher quality than most! Around 30% of this will be for the new invasion system, which will also come in the first release.

That being said, PLEASE join the Discord, it is dead as hell which hurts cause I've spent thousands of hours modding just for the Discord to receive one message every few days 💔. We also host active polls every day or two which decide major content features for the mod, like actually, if you join you can decide so much about the mod just by voting on polls! Ok so I wanted to build a home for the princess that allowed her to be neighbor to everyone to get her discount without suffering an overcrowding penalty for the other NPC’s. I counted and the houses are within 25 blocks of each other but it’s not counted and I don’t know why. Am I starting from the wrong spot? Is it because they aren’t connected? I’m really confused

I finnaly beat terraira hardcore in expert mode

I never made it to hardmode in hardcore mode before. and honestly. because of all my prep in pre hardmode, hardmode was easier than pre hardmode

I recently played the game with my boyfriend but after an hour or so while playing, I found myself constantly getting distracted by other things and eventually found the game boring altogether.

The thing is, I genuinely loved the time we spent together but it was just that the game isnt my cup of tea since before ever getting into it and I just dont know how to explain that to him (it just didnt appeal to me in general) However despite the circumstance, I would still want to try my best to get into it because this is just simply one of his favourite games (he has 1k+ hours in it) and I'd like to do my best to learn and participate with him in the things that he likes given that he has always done the same for me when it came to my interests.

Please help me out here and recommend some goals or achievements I could set for myself to get more into the game, preferably beginner friendly ones where I wouldnt have to constantly bug him to guide me through it (i dont want to seem like deadweight while he's trying to play the game himself) Thank you in advance!

edit: i did tell him after the session that i didnt like the game! however as i said, i still would like to try to understand the game more (and maybe i'll come to like it) because rn my only gripe is that i genuinely have no idea what am i suppose to do other than mindlessly dig into the world. he has shared with me about bosses and such so i'd like to know how i could go down that direction independently. not forcing myself for him haha, just wanting to learn more about his favourite game and possibly bond with him more over it
