Preface: I put suggestion cayse this is kinda an half-suggestion half-discussion post.

I was recently thinking about the nature of minibosses and what can be considered a miniboss in terraria. Some may consider event bosses minibosses, and that is a good answer that is completely fine to believe in. I however, do not believe in this idea, and believe event bosses are just... bosses, that are relegated to events.

So, to find out what a miniboss is, we have to set some criteria. We can't use the kill count necessary for acquiring a banner cause we would also have to include rare enemies that may not be that strong. So, we will have to compare them to bosses.

The bare minimum, for me, is King Slime, the weakest boss in terms of HP, attack and defense. Right off the bat, King Slime only does 40 HP of damage, that is not a good criteria because it will let basically every hardmode enemy into the category, same with defense (10 Defense). So, HP it is. A miniboss is an enemy that has as much or more health than standard King Slime (2000 HP), but is not considered a boss

Using that criteria, we get the following list.

- Blood Eel

- Corruption Mimic

- Crimson Mimic

- Dreadnautilus

- Dungeon Guardian (Excluded because it isn't intended to be fought normally)

- Goblin Warlock

- Hallowed Mimic

- Headless Horseman

- Hemoglobin Shark

- Ice Golem

- Jungle Mimic (Celebration Mk10 exclusive) (Excluded because special seed exclusive)

- Krampus

- Martian Walker

- Mothron

- Paladin

- Pirate Captain

- Sand Elemental

- Wyvern

So then, what should Re-Logic do to differentiate them from bosses?

Well, first thing they would need to do is make event bosses real actual bosses. Like when you open the bosses category in the bestiary, event bosses also appear, Add "boss = true" in the source code of the game, etc.

Then they should add relics for minibosses obtained from beating them in master mode, except they're silver instead of gold. Also, miniboss trophies are smaller (2x2 or they're smaller even if 3x3)

This is just my suggestion though.

Would be nice if after defeating the required number of mobs to get a banner you also unlocked the ability to craft the banner but without the bonus a real one gives.

Ex. 50 zombies gives a zombie banner and unlocks a craftable 'counterfeit zombie banner' just for decoration.

The shimmer is one of the coolest thing in any game ever. And I love the neat little things. Like all torches shimmering into shimmer torches instead of their materials so you can’t farm hard to get materials with torch god’s favor and the same thing with arrows. Enchanted moon-dial, more permanent character and world upgrades, new npc designs, biome generation that makes farming enemies easier. And it really shows how much relogic listens to the community and how much of a labor of love this game really is. That’s all. Just wanted to gush about it for a minute. The remix + for the worthy seed has honestly been pretty fun for the most part but god damm are there some massive walls in this seed.

I quite like the added challenge in the early game but at some points it feels like smashing my head against a brick wall. Namely the eater of worlds, wall of flesh(mainly just the imps tbf) and well mechadusa were making me go insane. Was seriously considering doing pre mech duke lol.

We'll probably continue the playthrough to moonlord to fully experience what the seed has in store but at least for the first half it was a painful but fun ride :).

I am going insane. I kept throwing bombs and more water just kept on coming. I thought surely it's not coming from the ocean. It was. That underground tunnel leads all the way back to my hellevator.

Discovered I can apparently get an infinite water bucket from the angler after 25 quests pre-hardmode? I know nothing about fishing in this game (yet). Wall of flesh will have to wait now I suppose

I'm getting back into Terraria and I want to play it with my friends. Before, you had to use a website or a VPN to host a server... is that still necessary? Relying on those methods to play with friends was really annoying

we checked sky islands, our hellevator, big trees.. after 30 minutes, we found it! fitting for the drunk seed..

Terraria New Frontiers is one of the biggest content expansion mods ever! Full initial release goals are at the bottom of this post, along with the Discord server link (where we host many polls impacting huge decisions for the mod). Aside from just adding an insane amount of content that remains high quality, it also adds a new base invasion system (fully toggleable, just a feature I wanted to add because of my love of Craft the World, more info in the Discord server) which alone adds an unlimited amount of content.

Here are some general things that are 100% coming (and in order):

• Maces (separate to flails), Rapiers, Clubs, Elemental Mage weapons, Crossbows, Traps, Totems, Battle Standards
• Expanded and reworked vanilla weapon types such as (but not limited to): Yoyos, Launchers, Grenades, Explosives, Spears, Flamethrowers, Boomerangs, Sentries, Flails
• A ton of mini biomes and structures around the world, mini biomes being: small areas that have a custom soundtrack, unique enemies, and an area to explore and loot, but are much smaller and more frequent than normal biomes.
• A ton of bosses found throughout the world. Two things I love about bosses from other games are when they have a fully custom arena and also when they drop materials to craft their weapons (like a spearhead based on the boss to craft a super epic spear) rather than just dropping a bunch of weapons, so both of these will be frequent in New Frontiers boss fights!
• Explosive ranger subclass (blast radius stat which scales explosions, visually as well, speaking of visuals, all explosive related projectiles receive fully redone visuals for their explosions and trails/fuses if they have them!), elemental mage subclass, paladin melee subclass, shaman summoner subclass (totems, battle standards, etc.), hunter ranger subclass (traps, crossbows, etc.), and way too much to list here!
• A new invasion and base defense system (concept stolen directly from Craft the World, although it'll be expanded a TON with way more base defenses) which in itself will add an endless amount of content, especially for those who love building a mega base with ballistas and catapults (and a plethora of other defenses) to defend against waves of enemies!

For the initial release, the goal is 20+ bosses, 100+ enemies, and 1000+ items, all while keeping the mod at a much higher quality than most! Around 30% of this will be for the new invasion system, which will also come in the first release.

That being said, PLEASE join the Discord, it is dead as hell which hurts cause I've spent thousands of hours modding just for the Discord to receive one message every few days 💔. We also host active polls every day or two which decide major content features for the mod, like actually, if you join you can decide so much about the mod just by voting on polls! This mod is huge and I'm aiming to keep it high quality throughout, and the Discord is genuinely where the biggest content decisions get made, so if you want a say in what New Frontiers becomes, be sure to join up!!

Don't worry about the mod not releasing, being low quality, or anything else! I have been modding it up for years, with thousands of hours of programming experience! This is not a first project!

I think Terraria would really benefit from a system of preset Roguelike Challenges / Modified Runs (similar to The Binding of Isaac).

​You would have to beat the run under specific rules or restrictions up to a certain boss (like the Moon Lord). Completing them would unlock special rewards, like unique vanity sets, pets, or Shimmer transmogs for your main worlds.

Slowly working my way through the whole group with our early hardmode gear. I still have several left to do but they've all been coming along well so far.

Ive been getting inot pixel art and making my own texture packs for terraria recentently and have been having a blast making stuff. But ive been wondering how other people do it and if anyone has any tips on how to improve my art. :)

I finnaly beat terraira hardcore in expert mode

I never made it to hardmode in hardcore mode before. and honestly. because of all my prep in pre hardmode, hardmode was easier than pre hardmode

Was too lazy to do WoF for now

and also yes its with a texture pack (Calamity in this case)

I plan on adding WoF tomorrow with the rest of the Hardmode Bosses before the Pillars and Moon Lord
