One single chest in the world with a blizzard in a bottle. No, Fishing isn't an excuse. Fishing should be the last resort, not the expectation.
I'd much rather loot be more evenly distributed rather than 5 Ice Boomerangs and 3 Ice Blades. Also the Sandstorm in a bottle shouldn't be pyramid exclusive, when one doesn't even spawn in a majority of worlds. Again, fishing should be the last resort, not the expectation for when you can't find loot.
Yes, I know, you can craft both in hardmode...
...when the bottles are far, far outclassed by wings and become near useless.

I recently played the game with my boyfriend but after an hour or so while playing, I found myself constantly getting distracted by other things and eventually found the game boring altogether.
The thing is, I genuinely loved the time we spent together but it was just that the game isnt my cup of tea since before ever getting into it and I just dont know how to explain that to him (it just didnt appeal to me in general) However despite the circumstance, I would still want to try my best to get into it because this is just simply one of his favourite games (he has 1k+ hours in it) and I'd like to do my best to learn and participate with him in the things that he likes given that he has always done the same for me when it came to my interests.
Please help me out here and recommend some goals or achievements I could set for myself to get more into the game, preferably beginner friendly ones where I wouldnt have to constantly bug him to guide me through it (i dont want to seem like deadweight while he's trying to play the game himself) Thank you in advance!
edit: i did tell him after the session that i didnt like the game! however as i said, i still would like to try to understand the game more (and maybe i'll come to like it) because rn my only gripe is that i genuinely have no idea what am i suppose to do other than mindlessly dig into the world. he has shared with me about bosses and such so i'd like to know how i could go down that direction independently. not forcing myself for him haha, just wanting to learn more about his favourite game and possibly bond with him more over it

Slowly working my way through the whole group with our early hardmode gear. I still have several left to do but they've all been coming along well so far.

I've always wanted to make a angler fish skeleton house for my angler but I've never been able to actually do it, but I think I finally got it but even still it just doesn't look quite right. It still feels 2-D and not fully there

The shimmer is one of the coolest thing in any game ever. And I love the neat little things. Like all torches shimmering into shimmer torches instead of their materials so you can’t farm hard to get materials with torch god’s favor and the same thing with arrows. Enchanted moon-dial, more permanent character and world upgrades, new npc designs, biome generation that makes farming enemies easier. And it really shows how much relogic listens to the community and how much of a labor of love this game really is. That’s all. Just wanted to gush about it for a minute. Have a good day all you terraria enthusiasts

Terraria New Frontiers is one of the biggest content expansion mods ever! Full initial release goals are at the bottom of this post, along with the Discord server link (where we host many polls impacting huge decisions for the mod). Aside from just adding an insane amount of content that remains high quality, it also adds a new base invasion system (fully toggleable, just a feature I wanted to add because of my love of Craft the World, more info in the Discord server) which alone adds an unlimited amount of content.
Here are some general things that are 100% coming (and in order):
For the initial release, the goal is 20+ bosses, 100+ enemies, and 1000+ items, all while keeping the mod at a much higher quality than most! Around 30% of this will be for the new invasion system, which will also come in the first release.
That being said, PLEASE join the Discord, it is dead as hell which hurts cause I've spent thousands of hours modding just for the Discord to receive one message every few days 💔. We also host active polls every day or two which decide major content features for the mod, like actually, if you join you can decide so much about the mod just by voting on polls! This mod is huge and I'm aiming to keep it high quality throughout, and the Discord is genuinely where the biggest content decisions get made, so if you want a say in what New Frontiers becomes, be sure to join up!!
Discord link: https://discord.gg/fhm5e2J2Mj (polls that decide the mod's content are posted almost every day, you can also make suggestions in the suggestions channel, or just chat it up so it's not a ghost town 🥺)
Don't worry about the mod not releasing, being low quality, or anything else! I have been modding it up for years, with thousands of hours of programming experience! This is not a first project!

I finnaly beat terraira hardcore in expert mode
I never made it to hardmode in hardcore mode before. and honestly. because of all my prep in pre hardmode, hardmode was easier than pre hardmode

My friends are really into terraria and modded terraria, and I love the game as well, but I don't really like playing with them because they ruin the fun I have in the game. I don't know the exact terminology or whatever for them, but they are kind of single minded "we're here to beat the game" type players.
I get that there are alot of ways to enjoy the game and all, but they never seem to hit the spots I want to. We especially play modded terraria (my first experince was on Infernal Eclipse of Ragnarok, and it was buggy in multiplayer but fun all the same) but they kept skipping bosses in the checklist and progressing too fast for my liking. I'm a completionist, so if im given a list of bosses im gonna follow it in order because I want the whole experience.
Skipping bosses isn't really what makes me mad though. It's the amount of quality of life mods, and. how they use them. We recently tried to do getfixedboi (something ive been wanting to do for a while) and also do it on calamity, but they kind of just made prison builders and thats how they traversed the world. I thought it kind of ruined the whole point of the terrain being difficult to traverse and it kind of just felt like I was taking the easy way out.
I believe Terraria has alot more to offer besides gearing up and fighting bosses. A while ago, I watched Wildlmao's "Pushing Terraria's Limits" series and it was exactly what I looked for in a playthrough. I like to build cool houses for the npc's and mess with mechanics and wiring, but when I play with the gang I never get time to do that because they get mad that I keep falling behind when I do. They have even admitted that I make cool builds and that having a builder is super nice (when we didn't have QOL).
I don't hold this against them because everybody plays the game their own way, mine just happens to be alot slower than theirs. But I want to finally touch on the things I haven't been able to because of it.
