Subreddit announcements Please do not discuss Politics on this sub

Hey, guys!

I just wanted to remind you of our subreddit rule to not discuss politics on here.

We understand it might be tempting with the way some actors are presenting themselves on their social media, but this subreddit is to discuss the show and positive things about actors that you want to share.

This sub is not a space for policial discussions and any comments relating to it will be deleted.

I'm making this post as lately there have been more political discussions happening on here.

We hope you comply with this rule.

Have a great day

The episode where Brick won't cross the bridge is the most irritating episode ever.

Like seriously. That's all I have to say about that. I don't care that he's just a kid blah blah whatever he's stubborn about a bridge and it's annoying.

I remember Brick whispering, but I can’t recall what prompted him to say ‘whoop’ all the time.

Flood room

I know it’s just a sitcom but man the flood room girls were so rude and annoying. The chronic fatigue girl would have qualified for disabled housing right? Why was the other one so agitated on her behalf? And why was the chronic fatigue one’s twin not living with her sister then? The other girl was so entitled, it’s not your room it’s university housing it can go to anyone. Imo she was just mad about giving up her walk in closet. I felt especially bad for sue considering good things happened to her almost never

Episode Review Finished it for the first time

I just watched the last episode for the first time and damn I like it

Other series I watched really had disappointing or not the expected endings but THIS ending was just perfect imo. You feel that they let the series end instead of dragging it AND i love the Sue&Sean storyline hihihi

(sorry for mistakes, English is not my first language)

General discussion characters that are dating

i just finished the show and wow, im already going back to rewatch. this was such an amazing show and everyone who i made watch it with me at some point also enjoyed it heavily. i just wanted to ask, how do you guys feel about Cindy, Lexie and Sean? assuming that Cindy is the person Brick is married to (which Atticus has confirmed to be her.) I am pretty content with how it ended relationship wise, and I honestly love Cindy lol. is that an unpopular opinion? ive seen some hate on her 😔

General discussion As the show progressed I loved Sue and hated Brick

Axl as always annoying but idk good sometimes

I finished the series for the first time

I started this show a few months ago. I had an idea what it was about. However, there was a lot comedy with so much heart. The Hecks are sort of basically a disorganized but loveable family.

I felt relatable to all the characters. It also made me really miss my dad. Mike was so much like my dad ...anyways I don't think they were bad parents. I don't think there's any bad characters.

Also I have inappropriate crushes on Axl and Sean Donahue

General discussion These are my favorite moments for each character

For Frankie, its her reading her reading her drunk letter
For Mike, its him trying to escape Tag, in the first Christmas special
For Sue it’s her trying to join the swim team
For Axl, it’s him trying to escape his mom and putting on socks.
For brick it’s him whispering into the pool

General discussion Why does Frankie let brick walk all over her?

Every single project or homework he has he just orders her to do it and she does it?

Bricks carelessness comes from the fact she does all his work for him and no matter what he will never be independent

Then Frankie wonders why her kids misbehave

for one thing, we won’t have the beautiful scene with Mike and Sue

General discussion What would it look like if Frankie and Mike had a fourth kid?

For the record, I’m glad the writers/showrunners never went down this path, and I love the 5-person dynamic that the show has the whole way through. Imo, adding a new kid to sitcoms in past shows has usually been the sign that the show is rapidly declining and desperate to spice things up.

However, I’ve always wondered what it would’ve looked like if they had a fourth kid, say in season 3 or 4. Just thinking about what everyone’s reactions would be/what their relationship with the baby would be like. Wanted to get community thoughts.

General discussion This show has a lot of real deep conversations honestly.

I forgot how great The middle is. In back to Back episodes You get Sue and Brad dealing with the troubles quirky Teenagers deal with when having to dive into the real world with college, jobs and still having to deal with Bullies in the real world. Brad coming out to Sue even tho its as obvious as Heat in the summertime was such a sweet moment. Their friendship is perfect I need one like that genuinely. The next episode Mike is afraid of his demise and going through depression over it. Mike and Frankie talk it out and it was great. Mike said He doesn't know whats next besides death and imo people of all ages can relate.

ive decided to stop watching the middle

season 7 and i decided to stop watching.
the whole show is just very toxic and sad for me. i understand that it can be relatable sometimes, and i know that the whole point is basically showing a dysfunctional, imperfect family, but at some point it just stopped being funny for me.
it feels like all the bad parts of being in a family just being shoved in my face non-stop in a comedy drama. frankie constantly being miserable and overwhelmed, mike being emotionally unavailable, the kids constantly struggling with each other and their parents, and then brick, sue and axl each having their own things going on. like bro 😭 can these people have ONE normal happy day
and i think that’s what gets me. individually, i actually like a lot of the characters. sue is probably the one i enjoy the most because she’s genuinely wholesome despite everything, and brick is obviously hilarious in his own weird way. even axl has his moments. but putting all of them together just creates this constant feeling of dysfunction, disappointment, arguments, financial struggles, parenting problems, people not appreciating each other, etc.
i understand that this is probably what makes the show realistic and relatable to a lot of people. not every family is happy and wholesome 24/7. but personally, i watch sitcoms because i want to feel good 😭 i don’t need to be reminded every 20 minutes that life is difficult and families can be exhausting.
by season 7 i genuinely felt like i was losing aura points every episode.
maybe i’m just not built for this kind of sitcom, but i think i’m done. bye guys 😭

I thought Sue came up with the concept of Wrestlerettes..? But in this episode Shannon is a Wrestlerette? Huh. How doesn't it get count in her pe credit then and why is it labelled a 'made up' thing

This is from S2 E8

Brick getting his iPad was eh

I have to admit, sue is probably my favorite sibling amongst them

She’s so sweet and never gives up.
It’s a shame the world around her Dosent deserve her at all

And the teacher smiling after reading sues experiment was literally the cherry on top

Did frankie go to college?

I think mike did. But frankie’s college hasn’t been that clear. If yes, what do you think both of them majored in and what sort of college life did they have?

Frankie was such an awful employee.

When she was at Ehlers it gave the impression that she wasn't valued so she was struggling but when she was hired by dr. Goodwin it showed what a horrible employee she was. She probably is the reason why he had to join that bigger company. Because he didn't have much work because she was a horrible employee. I mean she finally has a chance at a good job and she is the laziest most awful employee.

Opinion: Frankie's car sales person job storyline was way more interesting than her dental office work

They should have kept her doing that job and added some ridiculous reason they can't fire her, like some contractual agreement or labour law or something, despite her poor sales. Ellhert can't fire her.

yesterday i finished the middle for the first time and...

ok so the show was actually transmitted in my country, but a few years later than in the us and at a random time of the day, so when they finally uploaded it on netflix i literally ran to watch it. i finished it yesterday and i just miss them so much already, i’ve actually started watching it again because i’m not ready to let go lol i love this series so much, it means so much to me!

i wish we’d gotten more seasons, i mean 9 seasons is a lot but still, i could never get enough of this show... and we deserved the sue spin-off, i don’t know i love the middle so much and the actors are soooooo good.

btw, i’m convinced dolly parton would’ve absolutely loved sue and brad at dollywood, literally the two most perfect people to ever work in anything dolly-related!
