Modern Family star changes her name for career pivot: 'I wanted to switch it up'

Allow Frances Anderson to reintroduce herself.
The actress formerly known as Aubrey Anderson-Emmons, who broke out for her role as adoptee Lily on the Emmy-winning sitcom Modern Family, has changed her name to Frances Anderson. Anderson has adopted the new moniker to coincide with her pivot to a career in music. Her debut indie pop EP, "Drown," is out now.
"Frances is actually part of my legal name," Anderson, 18, explained to E! News on Friday. "It’s my middle name, and it’s after my mom’s old family friend. I thought it was a bit shorter than Aubrey Anderson-Emmons. I do have a long, hyphenated last name.”
Anderson added, "I wanted to switch it up and people to see a new side of me. And I wanted to create a space specifically just for music."
She released the first single from the EP, "Telephones and Traffic," in May.
Anderson made her television debut at the age of 4 in season 3 of Modern Family, playing the precocious adopted daughter of Jesse Tyler Ferguson's Mitchell Pritchett and Eric Stonestreet's Cam Tucker. She has won three ensemble Screen Actors Guild Awards alongside the sitcom's cast. The comedy, which ran for 11 seasons on ABC, concluded in 2020.Anderson made her television debut at the age of 4 in season 3 of Modern Family, playing the precocious adopted daughter of Jesse Tyler Ferguson's Mitchell Pritchett and Eric Stonestreet's Cam Tucker. Anderson told E! that she "had to take a step back from acting" once the show ended to discover her passion for music. "The show ended when I was 12 years old, so after that I decided I’m not gonna act anymore," she said. Rest assured, though, that Anderson does "plan on acting again — 100 percent.”
She has maintained a close relationship with her former onscreen fathers and other costars from the sprawling cast. Ferguson and Julie Bowen, who played Anderson's onscreen aunt Claire, staged a mini-reunion when they attended Anderson's school play last year.
Anderson last made headlines when she came out as bisexual last month, using memorable throwback audio from Modern Family to help mark the announcement. "You are Vietnamese," Sofia Vergara's Gloria informs Lily, who says in response, "No, I'm not. I'm gay!"
"I literally am," Anderson captioned the post.

Honestly one of the biggest character disasters in sitcom history
Manny was kind of doomed to fail. His whole character was how hilariously adult-like he acted. That inevitably stopped being funny once he became an adult, which is a shame given that he was actually one of my favorite characters in the early seasons.

Where is Phil? Ty Burrell?
I see alot of photos of reunions, weddings and get togethers, just saw some pictures yesterday of Sofia Vergara, Ed Oneill, Julie Bowen, Jesse Tyler, Eric Stonestreet and Ariel Winter.
Have seen photos with Luke and Haley in them, but, lots of times,Ty Burrell is nowhere to be found.
What am I missing here?

You gotta love Gloria’s parenting style. Here, she’s preparing her son for college. Teaching him how to cook? No. Teaching him some independence? No. Leaving a piglet in his bed? Of course!

Question Jay's money and the divorce from Dedee
I'm just over thinking this and the writers never thought of it but Cali is a community property state so unless jay got Dedee to sign a post nip he would have had to liquidate a lot or make Dedee a silent parter to settle the estate

Kinda wish Cal stayed with Mitch and Cam?
It’s horrible at a glance to say I wish Cal stayed with them instead of going back with Pam, his mother… but she was so horrible! Beyond mean especially when threatening Mitch, didn’t care for Cals development, and seemed ready to head back to prison anytime. Mitch and Cam gave him such a wonderful home and seeing Cal and Lily interact was becoming endearing. It also would’ve hit the “them wanting a second child”…

How Did Phil and Clare meet?
"IDK however people meet people" - Jules Winnefield, Pulp Fiction
We hear a lot about why they got married... Haley, but not how they met. To me it seems they met in college, but Phil doesn't go to the class reunion, where we meet Tater and a few of Claire's exes. Claire doesn't remember the college mascot of Phil's beloved Bulldogs, never leave without a bulldog blast. The character, Whipple, who was one of Phil's rivals we meet while Phil and Gloria are shopping together, remembers Claire Pritchet from college because he was jealous of Phil. So what really happened?
