Food New matcha ice cream spot and jasmine matcha. Not on Google Maps yet
Discovered this little shop next to treehouse vintage store. Seems like they just opened up. Ice cream was fire and I got their matcha Jasmine! It’s defiantly more flavorful than other shops I’ve tried with matcha Jasmine. It has indoor seating and ac too! Seems like they just opened recently.

Trying to decide whether to take NPB 101 in fall or winter. Which schedule would you choose?
Option 1: NPB 101 in Fall
Fall:
BIS 103 — Monfared (same day final w npb 101)
EVE 100 — Ramirez
MMG 103L — Quides
NPB 101 — Smith / Joiner / Huising
Winter:
BIS 104 — Lin
NPB 101L — Bautista
NPB 143 — Tripp
RE: MMG 162 — Shah OR MCB 162 — Burgess OR MCB 150 — Draper
Option 2: NPB 101 in Winter
Fall:
BIS 103 — Monfared
EVE 100 — Ramirez
MMG 103L — Quides
BIS 181 — Comai / Sundaresan
Winter:
BIS 104 — Lin
NPB 101 — Caporale / Usrey
RE: MMG 162 — Shah OR MCB 162 — Burgess OR MCB 150 — Draper
NPB 101L would be in Spring with Option 2.
And if you’ve taken any of these classes with these professors, I’d appreciate your thoughts!

Transfer Orientation
Is orientation really mandatory? Is there any kind of administrative stuff I’d miss that may impact my classes? I’ve already registered for them, and I’ll have paid my tuition by then so I don’t see how it could affect me. Does anyone know if they take attendance? I’d appreciate any answers!!

transferring from uc davis to a csu
hi! im going into my second year at uc davis and i was looking into transferring into a csu (specifcally csulb, csusm, sdsu) specifically regarding major bc davis doesn't have the major i want to switch into, and because it will be less expensive. i was wondering if anyone has any insight into this or experience? i understand the golden four must be completed and i was concerned about those courses from davis transferring or would it be safer i take them thru a cc? its just a bit complicated doing so while being enrolled at davis so i want to make sure doing all of this is worth it. worst case scenario i stay at davis for the next 3 years but ideally i can transfer. so if anyone has done it before any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

is 16 units too much
Hi I’m an incoming freshmen and I’m really struggling to build a good schedule. With the classes I wanted to take I’m ending up with 16 units.
The classes I chose are MAT19A (4units), PSC 001 (4), PER001 (5), and MGT 012Y (3).
Per001 and MGT are my GEs but I’m not sure about them.
If anyone has any advice or experience with these classes pls lemme know ur thoughts. If I should just find easier classes or if these classes are doable for first year quarter.

Other Master of management
Any alumni of the master of Management in person? I would like to hear some thoughts about:
1. Is it feasible for a non-STEM background?
2. If completed, what are you doing right now?
3. Final exam requirement for degree completion
4. Any other thoughts

non ECS/ECE majors taking ECS classes
Hi everyone,
I plan to take a CS minor, and I have finished most of my lower division classes (like ECS 32AB; still thinking about ECS20), so I am ready to take upper division ECS classes. I learned that those classes are very high-demand, and a lot of them are only open to certain engineering majors during pass one to make sure they fulfill graduation requirements.
So I wonder, what is the class registration like in pass 2? Will there still be some seats left, or will everyone in pass 2 end up on waitlists?
For reference, the upper divs I can choose from are ECS 113/115/116/124/129/161/163/164/166/170/174/179 and a few ECN and LIN classes.
ECS 113, 115, and 116 are designed for non-majors, so they don't have a Pass-time restriction; however they are often not offered, so I really need to have an idea of what my class registration will be like.
If any non-engineering majors who have taken engineering upper-division classes are willing to share their experience, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone!

Jobs/Employment Why are entry-level on-campus UC Davis Handshake jobs so competitive?
I've applied to over 80 jobs for almost 2 months now as an incoming freshman and have gotten around 5-7 interviews responses, most of them rejections for the ones I wanted and only got in one of them (was a off campus math tutoring in woodland where I am unsure if I can carpool without a car). Are entry-level jobs really that competitive for most students? I am also a work-study student and I use AI while writing my cover letters.

PHY9B Professor Change
I just noticed that all PHY9B sections have switched to Weideman, even the ones with Savrasov. Is it still worth it to go through hell for PHY9B or should I take my chances and wait for winter quarter? For context, I got a C+ in PHY9A with Rahul 😭😭

Financial Aid financial help
hi, please please help or give me financial advice! i’m an incoming transfer student, and the way uc davis does things is different than what i’m used to. i can’t pay the remaining cost in time for the quarter, and i don’t know what else to do. i’m currently enrolled in 13 units, and is on a 7-day meal plan. i’ve also applied for work-study. if i appeal, will it be processed in time? if i opt out of uc ship, will it take away my health insurance assistance? please help me out!
