The first picture is the highest I've been this season (and ever, honestly) and I was so happy with it, so happy actually that I really considered starting making content which is a goal of mine from some time ago. Two days ago I decided to play a couple of games and oh god. I got bad luck, thats okay (double flinches + crits, double burn + crit, the usual) but then I ended up like the second picture. I got extremely tilted at the game.
All the games (going up in rank and then going down to hell) were made with the same team, the raichu + staraptor meta team) and then after that I switched to a team I was testing not so long ago with Dragonite and Metagross, but it feels really demotivating to be so low again. The second team kinda works but I know it needs a lot of refining to do, which is why I've been going up and down from mb4 and mb3.
I got really desperate, and wasn't on the best state of mind so I stopped playing, but it still bothers me to have been so high and suddenly lose all my ELO.
So, the question again, how do you guys deal with being tilted/not in the state of mind to rank? Have you guys experience these kinda of downfalls? And if so, how do you overcome it?
(quick note, english is not my first language, so if there are grammatical errors feel free to let me know so I can improve while I'm at it)

I was thinking of a good Mega Absol team for Pokemon Champion's next Regulation, and I learned you can do a lot more with it than its stats would make people think
Similar to Raichu Y, it's EXTREMELY frail. Many powerful Neutral Attacks either almost KO or OHKO Absol
But with good defensive training, it can survive a lot more than people expect. And it's incredible Attack stat with Sharpness means it doesn't need offensive training to do a lot of damage
It also has Icy Wind, which can combo with Venusaur Sleep Powder to outspeed and Sleep opponents before they attack
What do you think about Mega Absol, and will it be good in the next Regulation?
Edit: Hydreigon’s Draco Meteor is supposed to be 6.3% OHKO, not 2HKO. Basically this Absol will almost always survive one Draco Meteor from a Max Special Attack Hydreigon.

Is anybody aware whether Zachary Weed or João Felipe Leite (or any player from Worlds 2026) have posted the team details on their Froslass/Scovilloan team? I would be quite interested in the EV spreads, particularly for Froslass and Sneasler. These two seem to have the most variety besides Basculegion, and I am not particularly satisfied with the EVs I am using. Had a look around Twitter and YouTube, but couldn't find anything so far. Thanks!

Is there an equivalent to https://learncedh.com/ or https://www.dustloop.com/w/Main_Page for Pokemon VGC? I see a lot of pokepastes of the meta teams online, but I want more detailed breakdowns on how to pilot them. I'm looking for writeups that go over things like:

Shout out to Tracey @MablesCanonWife on twitter for compiling all of the results of the Juniors and Seniors divisions in their twitter post earlier today. In their twitter thread, they compile a ton of niche results like Cherrim and Blastoise victories so it is definitely worth checking out and watching those VODs if you have time! https://x.com/MablesCanonWife/status/2094567610344165607
I have never seen a comprehensive list of Championship winners in these divisions and lamented as such when posting the Masters Division results yesterday, so im glad this information has been documented. I didn't see a post here in VGC with these results so I wanted to make sure everyone in this community had the opportunity to see and discuss.
Some results that shocked me is how diverse many of these lists are with which teams won worlds. I personally never consumed much Juniors division content when I was younger so seeing mons like Tapu Bulu, Rotom Heat, and Scizor win titles is super cool and made me want to watch all the old vods and figure out how those teams ended up winning. Once again, I highly recommend checking out some of the old vods if you have time and getting to learn just how exciting these younger divisions take team building and creativity.

Besides the 5 confirmed mons, anyone want to guess the other 21 mons to be added?
Aura Guard will mostly be seen vs physical moves but it could come in handy vs niche special contact moves such as Grass Knot, Draining Kiss, Infestation and in the future, Electro Drift.

Is there a VGC scene in Vegas? I know the card show scene is huge here but I don’t hear much about VGC. I’ve been getting super invested into champions lately (especially after attending worlds) and would love to compete in irl events.
I know regionals is in December but I might be at another convention in another state that weekend 😵💫 so I’m wondering if there’s anymore smaller local events that I can attend.

The title kinda summarizes it ! ! I just started getting into VGC after this worlds and I was wondering if there was a place I could see the exact spreads for the teams just to help get an idea of what works!!
If there are any other resources I could look at (for teambuilding in general) I'd really appreciate that too!!

Need help with EV spreads as I haven't EVd to survive anything specific; have thought about making base Froslass 151 speed to underspeed modest base Charizard to guarantee weather though.
Zoroark is the reason I built the team, Icy Wind allows speed control+nuking Garchomp when not explicitly threatening it (e.g. disguised as Arc/Farig)+the threat also allows for Froslass to Nasty Plot if the opponent wants to protect. Malice as a STAB option and for weakening enemy HArc and Basc. Wisp allows me to weaken Kingambit and Chomp when needed and to get around Sucker.
Froslass is built with more bulk and Modest since I expect to set up with Nasty Plot most of the time. The build is generic apart from that, did try Veil instead of Plot at some point though.
Adamant max attack Incin allows offensive pressure on Kingambit and Farig which the team otherwise can't hit for much. Passho berry allows it to be a Basc switch-in.
HArc is to explode Zard-Y, Raichu-Y and other faster threats, especially with Helping Hand. I decided to run CC instead of ESpeed since ESpeed didn't feel good in most matches and CC allows me to hit Ttar/Arch in a pinch.
Sneasler is max attack adamant to kill most Kingambits through chople and offers double Fake Out.
Farig has Roar to stop opposing TR and Helping Hand to allow HArc/Froslass to nuke. Psychic and TBolt allow it to do some chip and put things in range of other damage options.
Any suggestions? Think the issue lies more with my play than my team though.

Hey all! I’m looking to get into Pokémon VGC in Eastern Iowa. Anyone know of any locals, events, or groups around Cedar Rapids / Iowa City? Would be great to find out if there are any League Challenges / Cups around the area.
Also happy to join any local Discords if there are some!

With Rillaboom coming back in M-C, I wanted to share my M-B team now for anyone who might be inclined to take it to greater heights than Master Ball Rank 3. I've had a blast making this team and using it throughout the past three seasons, and I hope someone here finds it fun too.
Since this app seems to demand a particular category in the title, I guess I'd also take suggestions on team ideas heading into M-C and how to make a better writeup.

Hello, I know there’s the event locator but it doesn’t seem to be working very well. Is there a discord or any other way to find local vgc events in the So Cal area? Doesn’t have to be official events, any will do (: ty!

After the Worlds this weekend, and the amazing performance by João Felipe Leite (who is only 16!), I was wondering who was the youngest player to reach semifinals or even finals of the World Championship. Did someone got even further on their first master division year?

I was just watching the finals match, and was slightly confused by the final double protect by Hiroshi.
Wasn't moonblast on basculegion a strictly better choice? Because in the event sneasler did not use dire claw (which it did not in this case), you could have encore locked it into the move, and then whim could have taken down sneasler in 2/3 moonblasts.
I'm not really sure how scouting with a double protect would have helped. Even if Takuma did not use feint, then the next turn he was guaranteed to win using an aqua jet + dire claw.
If the potential reason behind this is that nerves can get to a player in such a big moment, I can totally understand. I just want to objectively understand if moonblast from whim was a better choice in this case.
RMT : I've just reached Master Ball 3 for the first time and I thought it was time to go online to try to improve myself and fish for new ideas, or just new insights I might not have considered.
Here's the link to my team : https://pokepast.es/65bda33787577110
Team Idea
My team was basicaly built around Mawile to try to make a team works despite the popularity of mons she isn't good against (mainly fire types). I'm somewhat satisfied with that team, but I feel like there's still room for improvement.
It started as a classic hardtrickroom team, but I slowly moved away from it, for a more non-meta comp, while still using strong mons.
The idea for running mawile in a Tailwind team came from pairing her up with Aerodactyl. it's just a great pair, I feel like.
Team description :
Starting with the star of the show :
Mawile :
The center piece of this team, and it's the one mon I don't want to remove. Also I feel like she's doing her job. She just works
Mawile 's build is classic, and honestly, I feel like the only choice you can make is wether you want to run Iron head or swords dance. Although I'm always taking ideas I might not have thought about.
The only unusual thing is that 16 in speed E.V. To be honest, at first I built her with 32 Hp (and 2 in SpDef). But in exchange for losing some bulk, I made mawile slightly faster. And there's one reason only : outspeeding Garchomp under tailwind.
I quickly realised that building a mawile team, I had to find answers to two of the most popular mons in the meta : CharizardY and Garchomp. I also thought I had to run trickroom (the tailwind idea came later). At first I thought about running just mawile in a rain team. (I tried peliper at first). But it just felt underwhelming. I couldn't win the weather war reliably. also trying to juggle into setting up trick room, then switching to rain to fight against Charizard Y, only for charizard to switch out on the next turn, to come back and set the sun back up... It just doesn't work.
So instead, I turned to the better charizard counter : rock types. And Here comes the second mon.
The one thing I'm not sure is wether I should keep intimidate or run hypercutter. Getting debuffed too many time has been a problem. And intimidate has backfired. But at the same time, I feel like Intimidate probably did a lot more than I give it credit.
Aerodactyl :
Aerodactyl is just a surprisingly great teammate for mawile : kills charizard, resist or is immune to mawile's two weaknesses. Can support Mawile with Wide Guard. It's just an incredible mon, aside from the fact that you don't usualy want to run mawile tailwind. So I worked in the lab, and I figured out mawile and that's when I figured out that, despite the fact she's so slow, so you could EV Mawile just fast enough to play rough garchomp and one shot it (unless choice scarfed). And aerodactyle is just good in that meta, despite the fact that people learned how to deal with it.
I say surpringly because it seems nobody is running that pair.
Focus sash exist to make sure it still has time to do something if the opponent opens with whimsicott + charizard and try to one shot aero first with tailwind.
I still needed an answer to steeltypes, for the third type that could wall Mega Mawile. More specificaly to archaludon at the times.
Sneasler :
I changed my sneasler's build several time tbh. Only microadjustments. I used to run taunt. I replaced it with protect, and this was the best change I made. At the end, I even replaced fakeout with upperhand (although since I changed it I haven't used it effectively once, so for all intent and purpose, the team that made it to MB3 could still be running fakeout instead for the same result). I thought about replacing unburden with poison touch to kill whimsicott through Sash. But I felt like it wasn't necessary. + it might prevent some BS wins through Dire claw's random sleep or paralysis by poisoning some mons. Yeah sometimes, Unburden feels like overkill. I still enjoy it. Sometimes it allows sneasler to still outspeed most mons despite the enemy's tailroom.
Sneasler's just good. He covers my weakness to steel I currently have (fortunately corviknight isn't popular in doubles). Direclaw deals with floette and sylveon + can cheat a win through random status.
After that I needed more special attackers. Also my two main damage dealer were both weak to ground. Sure Aerodactyl is immune to it. But Aero is a bit paper thin, and it's not like his damage could kill a garchomp alone. And while the mawile tailwind trick could deal with garchomp, I was basicaly dead if he somehow managed to kill mawile before I could kill my opponent's garchomp. Besides, mawile wasn't an answer to other, less common ground types. I also wanted a weather, just as a way to cancel my opponent's weather. Sun is the worst one for Mawile, so that one was out. I tried rain, but I was disapointed. So It was between Snow and sand.
To be honest, sand makes more sense with my team. But I think my weakness to water types would become way too big If I had to run Ttar or another sand setter. But I'd be curious to see if a mawile sand team is possible.
So for now I settled for snow. Aurora veil is nice for my team that's not that bulky. Even though there's literaly no other benefits (aside from hard targetting garchomp). It was between ninetails and frostlass.
So 4th party member
Ninetales-Alola :
Ninetails is amazing. But I can't figure out how I want to play her. I thought about running frostlass instead for a secondary mega. Maybe it's the right play. But the problem is that you really can't play both of them at the same time. Both Mawile and Frostlass need to mega evolve to be useful. Meanwhile, ninetails was the easier/safe pick.
I Still don't know what items I want on her. I ran her with Clay for aurora veil. I ran her with choice scarf, but setting up aurora veil became too annoying. Now I'm running her with never melt ice for extra damage as the extra turns on the veil felt unnecessary.
Aside from blizzard (obviously) and aurora veil, Freeze dry is a must. My team's struggling against a little against water types. And Freeze dry gives me one more option. Moonblast gives coverage for ninetails when Ice doesn't work.
Sinistcha :
I feel like Sinistcha is a classic as a mawile's partner for trickroom. Setup trick room, then rage powder. It usualy allows you to earn enough time to setup swords dance. Matcha gotcha takes care of that pesky water blind spot.
Despite being this late into the presentation, this was the first mon I paired mawile with.
But honestly? It feels like more often than not, I just prefer running the tailwind part of the team. It doesn't help that trickroom only benefits mawile. (and a little Garchomp, because, spoilers, it's bulky garchomp, not the classic garchomp you see in every other team).
The 4th skill, life dew, doesn't feel that good most of the time. I just think my team's too frail for it, or i'm just bad at exploiting it. Maybe I just don't switch my team efficiently enough?
Garchomp
I will say, I love dragontail garchomp. Stop setups, stop trickrooms. And the people underestimate how bulky it is. But because he's weaker, he's really weak to intimidates, to the point where he stops doing any damage. If you let the opponent's incineroar bully him. (part of why I started running upperhand at the end of my climb on sneasler tbh, even though it's probably not good).
I started running stomping Tantrum because 1 - I used to run spikes, which was useless, and 2-Having earthquake as your only ground option while your partner's protect was off cooldown just felt bad. To the point where i'm starting to think I should switch earthquake for something else.
I thought about running Garchomp as a secondary mega, as he's good against mons where mawile is bad, and he's already slow so making him slower isn't a big deal. Unlike frostlass it doesn't feel bad bringing him at the same time as Mawile. But leftovers have been quite effective. I'm not sure it's a good idea.
Also earthquake is overrated. But i'm not sure it's worth swapping out for a better option such as rock slide (especialy since it's already on aerodactyl). Protect on the other hand is a must.
Even If I wanted to replace garchomp, I still think this team needs a ground type. Ground targets both steel and fire, two of mawile's weaknesses. Plus another option against steel is very much needed as sneasler isn't enough on its own.
My counters :
I've struggled against several things, but there are at least three things I can think of :
Hard trick rooms (and specificaly girafarig who has been a real pain)
Milotic (specificaly)
Offmeta comp.
For offmeta comps, this might just be me lacking experience. For one of my more recent loss, a team like Wyrdeer skillswap with a full defiant team (including milotic) was just brutal. I've also noticed these players tend to be quite good at predicting what i'm going to do. Since I've built my team with the big 6 in mind, and the most popular mons on ladders, I'm starting to struggle whenever I start facing unusual mons, like Reuniclus, Hydrapple, (for exemple)... In general I just don't know what to do when we break the usual patterns.
But I also feel like I could improve my team . For milotic, in theory I don't have a water weakness. But I have nothing good against it either. Sinischai is usualy my best option. If milotic starts setting up with coil and spamming hypnosis, it can be very rough for this team. Freezedry isn't good enough against her.
There might also be other weaknesses I'm not thinking of.
P.S. I apologize if my English isn't that good. It's not my first language.

Congratulations Takuma Yamazaki for winning the VGC Masters Division title. What an insane read to win the championship, it was a truly well deserved win. I'm glad it was a great finals experience and for all the new Pokémon added to the list of Champion winners!
I used the list from _its_october_third_ from last year's worlds championship and added the new additions from this year. I believe it has all confirmed championships, but I wasn't involved during gen 4 so apologies if any mons are missing.
As a Garchomp fan, I'm glad it got added to the list of 3-time champion winners. I'm excited to see what Regulation M-C and beyond does for competitive Pokémon. I've been pushing my students to get involved and hope to travel to more regionals this upcoming year. I was personally hoping for Italian Ice to win as that's what I've ran on the ladder for most of this season, so I'm glad it won in Juniors. Congratulations to Kazuki Kage and all of the other champions in the other events today as well!

RMT: Mono Fighting Mega Blaziken — Pokémon Champions Reg M-B (Low Master Ball)
Pokepaste: https://pokepast.es/70412b2d90eff0fe
Team ID: N1F6YYA2FE
Back on Champions and had to run mono-Fighting again because I apparently can’t play anything else. I’ve climbed into Low Master Ball with this version over the past week.
The team is built around Mega Blaziken + Fake Out + priority rather than trying to force Tailwind or Trick Room. Scrafty and Sneasler help create safe turns, Gallade gives immediate Scarf speed, and Decidueye-H + Annihilape help with Ghosts, Intimidate and mid-game positioning.
Blaziken
Main win condition. Fake Out support helps it get the first Speed Boost, then Rock Slide / CC / Flare Blitz start applying pressure. Coaching from Scrafty during Protect turns has been really strong.
Scrafty
Basically my Incineroar. Intimidate, Fake Out, Knock Off, Psychic immunity and general support. I’ve moved away from attacking moves because I barely clicked them. Currently testing Coaching + Quick Guard and Coba Berry.
Sneasler
Fake Out + Taunt is huge for stopping Trick Room, Tailwind, Aurora Veil, etc. Adamant Unburden still feels fast enough and Dire Claw is probably my best Fairy deterrent.
Decidueye-H
One of the most important members. Scrappy is amazing on mono-Fighting because Ghosts can’t freely switch into Triple Arrows and Intimidate doesn’t affect it. Leaf Blade is also important into rain. Currently debating Sucker Punch vs Shadow Sneak.
Annihilape
Defiant helps punish Intimidate and Rage Fist gives me a strong bulky mid-game attacker. Running Life Orb. The weird tech is Vacuum Wave on Adamant Ape, purely for finishing things at very low HP.
Gallade
Choice Scarf surprise factor on closed sheets. Triple Axel is mainly for Garchomp/Dragonite and I prefer the upside over Ice Punch. Rock Slide is new but has been useful into Flying-types.
Matchups
Rain is probably the matchup I’m least comfortable with. I usually use Scrafty to Intimidate Swampert and try to remove Pelipper quickly with Fake Out + Leaf Blade/Rock Slide.
Trick Room / Farigiraf can also be annoying because Armor Tail shuts down a lot of my priority. Sneasler Taunt is usually the main answer.
Sun is usually Fake Out + Blaziken Rock Slide pressure.
Questions
Does the overall structure make sense for mono-Fighting?
Quick Guard or Detect on Scrafty? Coba, Sitrus or another item?
Is Vacuum Wave on Annihilape too gimmicky?
Any obvious matchup holes, especially into rain?
Sucker Punch or Shadow Sneak on Decidueye-H?
Overall the team has been really fun. Between Fake Out, Intimidate, Taunt, Coaching, Speed Boost, Unburden, Scrappy, Defiant, Rage Fist and Scarf Gallade, mono-Fighting actually has more tools than I expected.
P.S. Kingambit is absolutely cooked.
Shortened lol
