In case this isn't clear, this is an Australian Shepherd sub.

I'm tired of deleting poodle posts.

Edit: Aussie mixes and mini American Shepherds are also fine.

Bear and Charlie were litter mates that I got as puppies 14 years ago after moving out on my own. We did everything together and they were inseparable. I lost Bear last year and today, almost one year to the day, I lost Charlie. These were the first and last pictures I took of them together.

Lost my best friend suddenly yesterday, he just turned 11 a few weeks ago.
Got home from doing a few errands and right as I walked in to the living room he let out a final howl as he collapsed, I hope he felt us as we held him in his last moments

Do any of your pups sleep like this!? He’s always enjoyed a belly up moment, but in the past few weeks he’s been hitting this pose😂 Any reason why they do this?! Curled up in a ball with their head shooting back.

Moment of clarity after 7 years!

Our beautiful 7 year old girl, sassy as can be. If my daughter and I are walking together, or any two or three of us are walking with her m; she is constantly walking around us. She drives me nuts. She knows how to heel and does so marvelously on her own or if we are walking with strangers. Get her with family and she is all over the place.

Well my daughter had an idea. She said let’s walk closer like our legs are tied together. All of a sudden our girl was happy. We figured it out; we were herded correctly in line and she was happy.

Lost My Best Friend To Lymphoma-Polly

It has been six months since she passed away, and my heart is still broken. I loved this dog more than anything, and her absence has left a huge void. She was diagnosed with T-cell lymphoma in October 2025 (when she was 8 years and 5 months old). We fought hard, using every possible measure—including a blood transfusion (due to kidney failure and anemia caused by elevated calcium levels from the lymphoma 😭) and oral chemotherapy... truly everything. Yet, I had to say goodbye at the end of March. Right up until the very last day, we mostly had good days with a good quality of life. Even so, I still struggle to come to terms with what a cruel disease this is! Hope never dies, yet it is a battle that cannot be won. It hurts so much, and the diagnosis came so suddenly. I’d like to share a few photos and hope you’ll give Polly a ❤️; please hug your dogs—their lives are far too short as it is.

Credelio Quattro vs. Simparica Trio

Hello! I searched the subreddit looking for info on Credelio Quattro and did not get any results, but it’s possible I didn’t search right so my apologies if this has been asked and answered here.

I was wondering if anyone has switched their Aussie from Simparica Trio to Credelio Quattro and if they would recommend the switch. My vet brought it up as an option but is not pressuring me to switch.

My Aussie is 7. He did not do well on Trifexis and to my understanding the Quattro comes from the same company. I did tell my vet this and she did not seem concerned about this but understood my concern I think. Because trifexis made him throw up, I switched to Simparica Trio a few years ago. He’s done great on Trio. Never had an issue with it health wise and I’ve never found a flea or tick on him and he’s never had worms while on it.

I do live in a city so I’m not terribly concerned about a lot of parasites. He’s never really unsupervised and listens pretty well when told to leave it so even when we are out in nature and around other dogs im not terribly concerned about the added coverage of tapeworms that comes from Quattro. I do know Quattro is supposed to kill ticks faster than Trio but I’ve never seen a tick on my boy so I’m also not sure how necessary this is.

Of course some of the first things I did find from a Google search were some of the worst of the worst horror stories about bad reactions. So, at this point I’m just trying to get more information. On one hand I feel like added coverage is good just in case but on the other hand if my dog isn’t really at a huge risk for these things and his current medication does work is it worth the risk of a bad reaction? I know the chances of a bad reaction are pretty slim but if it isn’t necessary to switch why take the risk at all? I know I can just get one or two months worth and switch back easily if it doesn’t work, but there were of course a handful of people who claim their dogs died very quickly after having a bad reaction to their first dose of Quattro.

Would love to hear people’s experiences with their aussies on Credelio Quattro and would especially love to hear from people who switched from Simparica Trio to Credelio Quattro.

Our goofy Aussie Moose is obsessed with pup cups lol.

We entered him in a little pup-cup contest, and he is in 2nd.
We just had to share this picture because his face says everything about how seriously he takes them. 😂

RC Truck for Aussie to chase

We often end up at the dog park when there are no other dogs. I thought buying a good quality RC Truck and attaching a stuffy on the back would be a great way to help tire Oliver (1.5yo full Aussie) out in the morning. Question for the hive mind:

Has anyone done this?
Do they work on grass?
What RC Truck/Car did you get?
Tips/Tricks/Advice welcome.

Note: I can walk Oliver 3 miles in the morning and 3 miles at night and it does nothing for his brain. Same with just chasing the ball at the park once I throw it and it stops he has no interest in it. Trying to level up to keep him stimulated.

Thanks! 😊
