There are quite a few cursed items, and I like putting them on would-be adventurers.
Some choices are obvious:
Helmet of Opposite Alignment -> Ajantis
Girdle of Masculinity/Femininity-> Shart Eel
The others I dispense as I see fit.
This offers no gameplay advantage, but when I am playing as an evil wizard I am obligated to gift cursed items to unsuspecting people.

Things such as bug fixes, graphical/UI enhancements, QoL, stuff that doesn't alter the vanilla game "too" much.

I've never used any of the late-game companions in BG1 (The ones that join in chapters 4 or 5) and feel like I'm potentially missing out on a lot of great party interactions and characters... but I am also notoriously thorough in the early game about clearing out quests and the like and it makes me worry that once I get to those companions I won't have enough XP to get them to max level.
So I am curious if this is really something I need to be concerned about. Can I max out my late-chapter companions without having to carefully save early-game quests? Is it normal for players who plan to have a party built around late-chapter companions rush through the story content to recruit them ASAP and then do side content? I'm just trying to plan what sort of balance to do.
Also I'm playing on console, I know there's mods and third party programs, but looking at just vanilla EE experience.

considering shaking my game up a little and wondering if you guys have come across any particularly interesting alternatives for our companion pics. I'm usually a purist but idk

In one modding session, I got NPCs that joined at level 1, and got up to speed in XP by getting just enough to next level, until catching up with Gorion's Ward. This way, you could level Imoen (for example) from level 1 fine tuning her skills, up to just T5, then dual to a neat T5/W6+. Now I get Imoen and bam, 35k xp at once, and she's gone from T1 to T6, and the dual is a steeper T6/W7.
I remember using BG1NPC and SCS.
Now I'm using BG1NPC, CDTweaks and SCS.
Does anyone know which order and which options to get this one level at a time xp gain for npcs?

I have charname-- fighter/mage/thief
Dorn, possibly change to Minsc.
Branwen, possibly change to Vic or Yeslick.
Imoen, dualed to wizard after thief 2.
Xan, possibly change to Dynaheir if I bring back Minsc.
**edir**
Neera, is now in the party. I might replace her or Xan with Baeloth, who is one of my favorites

I've never had a mostly arcane caster party. I've heard it's a bad choice in bg1, but I'm not sure that's true.

Hooo boy, trying to get into this old game is rough haha
Is there a way to rebind things so that you can use keys other then alphanumeric? Like I wanted to change map to Tab but it just made it blank. And change the highlight everything from Tab to alt, etc.
