Did we underestimate the impact of losing Nephew Kyle as a producer? While he frequently made cutting errors and whenever he turned on the microphone it was a bit awkward, no way he lets Bill record "ChatGBT" ad reads and admit to interstate betting crime. It just doesn't happen

Anyone else think FF just feels like a chore at this point
Used to love it but am genuinely so bored at this point. Only doing 2 leagues this year and honestly would rather do zero. In any competitive league its just luck, whether you beat the guys who aren’t fish. I also hate talking to dudes about their fantasy teams, I don’t think I have ever had an insightful or interesting conversation about it.

General Joe House how I pictured him
Someone posted recently about this and I meant to chime in. Before The Ringer became a TV network, I always pictured the great Matt Walsh when I listened to House's sage gambling wisdom on the BS pod. Chatgbt called the comparison a "pretty sophisticated version of the House hallucination. 😂"

Watching shows like Hard Knocks and Quarterback
really shows how deeply uninteresting athletes are as people. Also why do football payers say everything twice

So many of The Ringer shows have been on forever
Fennessey's mild critique of ChatGPT was interesting only b/c no prominent Ringer employee has ever publicly criticized the company or Bill (CR, Fennessey, Dobbins, etc.).
made me realize how vested his core group is - almost all of them have been hosting the same podcast for 10 - 15 years at this point. seems like that would inevitably lead to 1) a realization you'll never find a better set up in terms of pay and stabilty, 2) boredom and stagnation. they're also almost uniformly 40+.
you can't talk about the same stuff for over a decade and find it as fresh as you did previously. furthermore, the industry is pushing them more into 'performers' than anything resembling cultural critics/journalists.
