I found this about a week ago, some ID would be appreciated - but mainly I’m not sure if its the inner or outer core. I wanted to polish it up a bit if its the keratin sheath but obviously I’ll have to reevaluate what I’ll do with it if its the bone interior. There isn’t really a discernible interior section it just seems to be all really thick keratin but I’m not an expert in the slightest. If I’m missing something and if there is an interior and a way to remove it please let me know!

Just wanted to show off the beaver bones I cleaned myself! This was an unfortunate case of roadkill that my brother found on the side if the road.

Also, included is a Fox skull My uncle hunted, and a duck skull my mom found in the yard randomly!

Hi guys! I recently bought this skull from Goodwill a couple days ago, and as you can see, it is COVERED in junk. I figured i’d buy it, take the charms off, clean it up, and keep it for display. but… i am finding removing these charms to be extremely difficult 😭 i don’t want to damage the skull more than it already is, does anyone know the best way to remove these charms/glue?

Based on the size and composition it looks like a whale vertebrae. However I'm just taking a guess. Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you. Any rough idea on value as I'm trying to help someone out. This was found with a large collection in the US however they had items from all over the world.

I found a very young deer jaw, baby teeth still coming out, it was pretty brittle so I was getting the teeth out for a project and a feather was inside where I believe marrow is in the jaw. How does this happen?

I've been processing animals to the bones for a while now. I collect pelts and bones. I have a few birds that id like to get processed but I'm worried about the different bone density and feathers. Is there any specific techniques to processing birds specifically?

I left a cow skull in peroxide for like really long (I sort of forgot about it) and now it smells like death and looks more yellow than it did before. What happened?! What do I do now?!

Found on a beach on Lake Erie. Approximately 3" long.

Found it in a broken skull while traveling through the Atlas mountains somewhere in central Marocco. Wondering what animal it comes from. Skull was too broken to tell, and I didn't take any photos of it. Have worn it as a necklace for a couple of years. Any advice is helpful.

enterrei minha gata ha um tempo para usar os ossos em decoração. vi que pra limpar precisaria de água oxigenada porém não tinha aqui em casa e eu com a minha burrice jurei que seria a mesma coisa se eu usasse água sanitária(não queria nem clarear, apenas higienizar msm). depois de umas 5 horas de molho me deu um estalo em pesquisar se não daria merda e descobri que na verdade da MUITA MERDA. to com muito medo de perder ou deteriorar muito mais rápido. já enxaguei com água corrente e agora estou deixando de molho em água limpa e vou ir trocando de tempos em tempos. mas POR FAVOR me ajudem!!!!!! oq posso fazer pra consertar isso??????

I've always had luck finding bones, even as a kid, and recently decided to start doing some hunting in the local creeks, especially with all the raining/flooding we've been having. Found miscellaneous bones my first day, lots of pottery, glass, even the porcelain foot of a baby doll.

On my second day hunting, I started in a new spot and found this whole buck within 10 mins and just felt 🙌🙌🙌🙌 estatic!

(I've found a whole cow elk before on a camping trip, which was probably my best find to date, but this is right up there now. And I know deer are common place, but it's still exciting for me!)

I'm a biology student, and we just got some bones for our group's activity. They're in plastic bags right now.

We were given instructions on how to do the initial cleaning and how to eliminate moisture, but since it's exams week, we can't really do that for around 3 days...

Any advice on what I should do to keep the bones from molding until then? I don't know if I should keep them in the fridge or anything (since I've got roommates)
