Hello everyone! I was hoping to get some info on what’s becoming a bit of a family heirloom. My parents brought this camera with them when we left Poland in 1996 (I was three!). I remember this working pretty well when I took a very basic photography class in high school back in 2010, but it was tucked away in a cabinet otherwise. When I moved out, I ended up taking it with me. It’s been sitting on a bookshelf with some other curiosities in my study ever since. I figured it was about time I learned a bit more about it, and figured this might be a good place to get more info. I just checked and high school me was smart enough to remove the batteries from the main camera and the flash portion before squirreling it away. Any info would be appreciated!

As a student part-time event photographer, which is a side gig as a source of extra income, my camera being damaged like this really isn't favorable at the moment and I would highly appreciate any advice/comment on what I can do to fix this. Basically, I removed the camera from this bag a dedicated to keep it in and noticed those little curved pieces where the mirror is and I assume the lens wasn't mounted on properly and some pressure may have broken what those black pieces were. Also added some pics where I think those pieces were before not too sure. sorry my camera anatomy isn't too great I'm still learning. the lens basically won't mount on properly leaving that gap there and falls off if I don't hold on to it. I will take it to a nearby Nikon (it is a Nikon d7100) store but I'm afraid they will ask me to buy something new so I would rather get some solid advice here and understand fully before I go.

This was the cheapest x-t1 -and the cheapest fuji in general-
Got this for 220 bucks (body only)
And going tomorrow for the 15-45mm lens i’ve found for 90 bucks

Hope i wasn’t scammed, but generally the prices here are too high because of taxes so it would be understandable!

I posted a little over a day ago trying to figure out what digicam to start with, and really wanted a Sony CS RX100 IV after weighing all of my options, the perks of each cam, and then the RX100 line. Decided an IV was the best for me. Hawked every single site i could find, even bid on eBay, but one 30 minutes from my house ended up being sold for 150 this morning. Absolutely pristine condition, 0 issues, and all I had to do was buy it a new battery. Saying I’m thrilled is one hell of an understatement. Even came with a kit, case and gear!

Ive wanted a digicam for years now and im overjoyed this is my first good cam!

TLDR: I found a Sony RX100 IV in pristine condition with a case, gear, and bag for 150 lol

The AF seems to not work properly in spot AF mode but works great in continuous tracking or 1 point AF mode.

• ⁠Notes: Can anyone help troubleshoot this camera for me. I purchased online, shot after fresh batteries and no film and it shot perfectly. Loaded film, button didn’t press and no shoot. Loaded correctly and now button presses all the way down but doesn’t shoot at all with and without film. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Had my eyes on the xt30iii for a while now and have been itching to pull the trigger. Was at a camera store today and decided to take another look at it. The employee there said that lots of Fuji cameras are getting a price hike starting today. The $1,449 CAD price for the camera (plus kit lense) shouldn't even have been there but she said she'd honor the "old" price. So I decided to get it then.

But now doing some digging, it looks like I can't find any sources saying that the xt30iii specifically is increasing in price. All the lists im seeing have a bunch of cameras but that one. Im just a little confused rn, did I get played?!😅

I hope my equipment is Canon r50 Rf 100-400 IS USM Rf 24-105 IS STM I'm doing airplane photography, my camera is very sufficient, but I'm having a little trouble with the lens. I'm thinking of a lens that focuses further for me and the lens I'm looking at is Sigma sport 150-600mm. I'm surprised that everyone buys it as if everyone buys bread abroad. Notes: as you can probably tell, I like hiking and taking pictures and want to step it up with a dedicated camera. My budget is pretty low since I’m young and broke, but I’m open for suggestions if the current budget is too restrictive.

Apologies for the shite photo, lens I used was a bit shit for anything close in, lens pictured is a 50mm macro lens and would have been ideal... It was a cheap ebay find. It's ok for the primary purpose of photographing stuff I've made but it's reasonably good as a general purpose prime. Ideally I'd like to be able to use the filter ring though if I'm using it creatively.

I have an older Lumix 12-32mm that had a dirty inner lens element (significant flare/haze when there was any bright light in the picture).

I took it apart and cleaned it. Putting it together it is impossible to reverse lense elements as they are fixed into modules and slot together using various mechanisms.

After putting it back together, the haze was gone, but I noticed that most of the pictures were a bit blurry unless the F stop is high (>7+).

When I say blurry i mean that while the image looks passable on the preview screen, when I zoom in, I can't read text in the picture a few feet away. I am using this on a OM5 mki mounted on a tripod and i am comparing it using equivalent settings to a an olympus 14-42mm kit zoom and a lumx 14mm f2.5, where i can clearly read the text at the respective zooms and aperture and shutter settings. At the higher fstops, the clarity of the image rivals the other lenses. The same issue exists when I use a panasonic GF3 so it is not a cross compatibility issue.

I have taken it apart several times thinking maybe something was out of alignment but the design of it is pretty much idiotproof (it is possible my idiocy transcends this though, but i think the lens alignment is fine). All of the connectors seem in place and ribbons are intact to visual inspection. I cleaned all the connectors using alcohol.

It is pretty much impossible to use P or Automatic modes as they are always blurry. The only way to make it clear is to force the Fstop high using A mode (or S mode altering the shutter speed).

Autofocus seems to work ok (focusing on something closer / background yields clear pictures (assuming im keeping Fstop high). If i use a lower fstop, it is blurry but focusing on nearer objects seem slightly clearer than focusing on something far away.

All 4 corners seem to be equally blurry (no corners are sharper than others making me think it is not misalignment).

There is no signficant aberration if I shoot a white text on black background (fstop at 9).

What can i do further to diagnose the root cause of why my lense is blurry?

Why does it not work when I use P or A? is this a focus problem? is this a communication problem between the camera and lens? Or is this an inherent lens problem?

btw - this is a cheap lens so its not worth it for me to send out to a pro.. i'd like to take this opportunity to understand cameras/lens function even if I never get this to work correctly, it would be nice to fix it though!

I'm considering buying the a6700 through e-infinity.

Many recommend the sigma 18-50 as a good first lens.

However, the 16-50 II kit lens being only 50 euros with the body bundle, is it worth it starting with this lens, and later on finding a used sigma lens (or new if not found)?

Or is the kit lens not interesting even at this price.

Can these be fixed? And if yes please tell me what I should do. I found them in a dumpster hoping they would work.

Hello! I’m looking for a second opinion as I get ready to invest in my first personal camera for freelance work.
I’m looking for something versatile that can handle both photography and videography. On the photography side, I’d like something strong for portraits, special events, and sports.

Right now, I’m mainly considering the Sony a7 IV and Canon R6 Mark II. I’ve heard great things about both, but I’m also thinking about the long-term cost of lenses. Canon RF glass can get pretty expensive, while Sony seems to have a much larger selection of third-party options from Sigma and Tamron at more affordable price points.

Which would you recommend as the better first investment overall? Is the a7 IV or R6 Mark II the better fit for what I’m looking to do, or is there another camera body I should consider?
