Edit: Looking at it again it's actually just light on his inner leg

I think it is piss or cum. The first flash of white underneath is definitely just light. The 2nd is 100% a liquid.

The blanket is patterned. That is just the white spot next to a dark spot revealed when he lifts his front leg for just a moment.

It’s the static electricity! I’m not bullshitting either! I have a Nebelung cat as well that creates so much static that is so strong you can actually see the small sparks it is creating! It’s a cool strobe light routine I do every night before bed with my boy

No literally 😭 OP where did you adopt him???? Cus if it’s from the shelter they will usually hand them over neutered. Unless that’s not standard or they’re overpopulated.
Either way I’m glad he’s comfortable at your house but damn gooner cat is crazy76
u/SpiritSilverfang Aug 01 '26

My cat who was neutered at 12 weeks and had never displayed that kinda behavior fell in love with a stuffed animal I won at the county fair when he was about 2 years old, and him and “Lovie the Tiger” spent the next 16 years together, perpetual honeymoon status. Cat didn’t even die of natural causes. Hit by a car. Lovie was buried with him and that stuffed tiger was flat, and had been carried around the house by the neck till it was threadbare. Garfield never looked at another toy. He was more loyal to Lovie than any boyfriend I’ve ever had.

I play with him 15 mins every day and even during play he goes and hide under the bed. Idk how else to stimulate. Any advice? My first pet and cat.
741
u/jyuichi Jul 31 '26
For the love of cat do not “stimulate” him /j
Cats go through phases of interest. Maybe find a blanket he likes more and put it in a different space to keep surprises from your bed.
Some weirdos knead all fours for non-sin reasons but…. yeah. Get a blankie just for him if nothing else to keep the spittle off

Almost all cats that I've known to do this were doing this for non-sin reasons (or at least I think ?). The one who did it the most was a female (sterilised) who was abandonned very young and had to be fed milk from a bottle instead of a mom cat. I think she does the biting down on a cover and kneading for the same reason she sometimes tries to suck down our fingers : She has mommy issues.
At least that's how I always read it.

It could be a soothing behavior to comfort him in his new environment (not necessarily because something with it is not comforting but just new and adjusting).
Once he gets more places with his scent that’s his comfy places the behavior may lessen. Even if it doesn’t lessen, some cats just weird.
We had a family cat who was a long time resident and he just did it whenever he was on his favorite blanket lol.

he just needs to get used to the new situation, tho he looks really happy and comfortable in the vid. Does he have toys he can use on his own? like a cat tree or something maybe with some dangling toys he can use whenever he wants?
105
u/Fabulous-Tap2765 Jul 31 '26
He has a huge cat tree with dangling and stuff which he barely use. Multiple toys on the floor and he only plays with them when I go to sleep.

u/Dogs_Without_Horses_ Aug 01 '26
He loved to lay there like that and watch me cook dinner like I was his personal TV show. 😂 We called him Sticker because he was always stuck to you. He was such a good cat even if he stole pens.

u/Curious_Ducklin Jul 31 '26
sounds like a good setup. time will tell what kind of stuff he‘s into and what not. so just keep going and get to know him.
13
u/Necessary_Success_35 Aug 01 '26
You could try rubbing a tiny bit of catnip all over the cat tree to get him used to using it

Jacking himself off, or “humping”, your bedsheets. Better check for stains before you lie down 😂

u/Fabulous-Tap2765 Jul 31 '26
I haven't noticed stains and anything wet.

u/Ok-Table-3774 Jul 31 '26
It's just behavioral. Tons of cats do this. It's instinct to bite a mate and mount her. He's likely fixed and won't jizz on your bed or anything. it's perfectly normal cat behavior that you do not need to worry about! My female cat did this too haha

u/caitejane310 Jul 31 '26

Look really close. It’s a shadow or better yet, it’s the light you see out from under the cat. It looks like it just disappears at some frame so I wondered how? Well at that exact moment the cat lives their front right paw as you can see on their shoulder. So they move their paw and for a split second, a very thin strip of light could shine out

It’s the light reflecting on the front right paw. The white thing suddenly disappears length wise. A fluid wouldn’t do that. But if it’s just a short light, that was visible for the millisecond the cat put its paw down
→ More replies (3)11
u/TressoftheEmeraldTea Jul 31 '26
Nah, he just moves his front white paw and the white comforter I’d briefly visible behind it.
Also, as the vet said, that’s nowhere near his penis lol

Os he neutered? There’s a chance that he was used for breeding?
I have a rescued persian cat, that was used for breeding, he’s more prone to do sin biscuits that the other cats that I had.

It's called wooling, making biscuits while holding the blanket in his mouth. It's a self-soothing activity. When we adopted our daughter's cat, he did this a lot. As he got used to us and his new surroundings he gradually did it less, but whenever he felt stressed he would do it. Not to worry, it's normal.

u/I_Dont_Speak_Anymore Aug 01 '26
This is exactly what I was thinking. I really don't get all the comments saying it's sin biscuits???? Am I missing something? People are saying he's humping the blanket but I don't see any humping going on at all. Am I blind or something?

u/justaRndy Aug 01 '26
Nope, you are actually still capable of unique thought and observation, congrats.
This is self soothing aka kneading, the same thing kitten do subconsciously to stimulate the mammary glands. It sticks around into adulthood sometimes...
There is 0 humping going on in this clip.

Poor cat being accused of all sorts of things
No it’s not sexual it’s a comfort thing and stems from kitten behaviour
I’ve had cats all my life and had a few like this - the scent of human and the texture of the duvet is comforting to him - let him be bless him

My neutered cat does this at least once a day. I call it his “blanket time” 😅
I’ve read it’s a behavior thing. Sometimes a soothing method. Sometimes I think they just want to do it 🤣

A lot of people call them sin biscuits because they hump whatever they are kneading atm. It’s not sexual it’s just his way of saying I’m relaxed and happy. If he was kneading and suckling it would be an indication he was taken from his mother too early but it doesn’t look like he’s suckling. It’s also not matting behavior but has similar posture to it. It’s nothing to worry about but don’t punish him if he does it.

Thank you for posting this! My Princess Fish kneads while suckling nearly every night and I know it's 100% non-sexual (I am Cat Mom and this is her version of baby behavior; all four of them have their own secret baby behaviors that only come out when they're hanging out with me and snuggling. Our boy loves panks and likes to hide his face in my shoulder when he's sleepy, our void will headbutt my tablet or phone until I stop and just focus on her, our Bowie-eyed baby licks the bridge of my nose almost obsessively). I was starting to worry since everyone was so sure it was sin biscuits, but it's definitely that she was weaned too young and thinks of me as her safe place.

He is point blank masturbating/self pleasuring whatever you would like to call it. Also because he has been neutered does not mean this will not produce a liquid substance

My semi feral boy does this, he has a girlfriend blanket, do NOT interrupt sin biscuit time. We just pretend it’s not happening but sometimes he stares at us when he’s doing it and it makes everyone uncomfortable but if he’s happy I guess it’s fine… the vet said it’s ok.

My former street cat constantly humps me. There won't be wet stains, it's a behavior ingrained in him from spending the first few years of life unfixed. It's mostly annoying and awkward to get out of. Redirect his attention to curb the behavior but know it's probably not going to stop completely
