Concern about Generative AI in BLINK

So yesterday BLINK shared a post from a participating artist (@mindscapestudio) on their Instagram story, and it had an automatic “AI Content” tag.

I left a comment about it on the original post and it was hidden. BLINK also hasn’t responded my message about it.

I think that we will see a good amount of AI art (theft) in this year’s festival, and it seems like they are unwilling to disallow or prevent it.

shit post I can't be the only one who hates Gold Star for this

When will any of these companies learn people don't think it's cute when they "hire" a fictional "gen z" intern and spam brainrot buzzwords? I always go to gold star because it's next to my house as opposed to a 7 min drive to skyline, but now I don't even want to go at all.

The way they use the slang is like if aliens came to earth in human disguise and it's their first week. Hello, glorp, I mean, I prefer gluten free. Me vegan, I think. Glizzy am I right? How about that Donald Trump human guy? Politics. I think I'll look around the Mall of kenwood today. Glorp. I mean yes I'll have the 2 glizzy's for 5 bank notes and 13 Abraham coins please!!

Entertainment Shrink Blink

I love Blink and I can't wait to go this year, but I think Blink has got way too big for its own good.

I lived in the Netherlands for a few years and before Blink ever happened there was a festival of light art in the Dutch city of Eindhoven. It took place every year in the Fall and was absolutely wonderful. One of the reasons it was so wonderful was the fact that you could see all of the pieces and easily navigate to all of them because they were all laid out on an easy to follow path around the city.

Blink is so big it is really hard to see everything and it isn't terribly easy to get around the event. Also it feels like Blink is focusing more on quantity than quality when it comes to the pieces included. Many are wonderful but some feel like filler and others feel like advertisements masquerading as art.

I really hope the people in charge of Blink consider reducing its scale and scope and focus more on user friendliness and quality.

…which I can confirm, because while I was outside today one of my trees dropped a fruit right next to me. If you have a local stand, time to go out and shake the trees.

Travel/Visiting Is there somewhere I can park for cheap/free to explore Over The Rhine via the streetcar?

Post image

I want to make more trips to OTR, specifically Findlay market, because I feel like I’m not taking enough advantage of all the cool stuff there. Every time I go I’ve had to pay for parking, and I would love it if there was somewhere where I could park for free that would allow me to just hop on the street car and ride it around urban Cincinnati. I don’t mind if I need to walk, or if the parking space isn’t near Findlay Market.

Parks & Recreation🏕️ What is the best view in Cincinnati the public can access?

Been wondering what the best views in Cincinnati are personally I found Mount Adams and Echo Park to be pretty great, but I’m wondering if there are any publicly accessible buildings or observation decks when I was a child my parents took me to the Carew Tower but from what I understand now that is no longer accessible. Share what your favorite view is here!

Want to see a skatepark Pleasant Ridge or Kennedy Heights? Give the Cincinnati Skatepark Project some feedback here:

The response to the Camp Washington Skatepark has been outstanding and CSP is working to bring more parks to more neighborhoods in (greater) Cincinnati.

“putting cameras, sensors and artificial intelligence into healthcare also raises an important question: What happens to patients' private information?

When asked about concerns surrounding both the accuracy of AI and patient privacy as the technology becomes more prevalent Hanlon-Bremer replied, “AI is here. The good thing I would say to folks is that in healthcare, we are governed by a lot of laws, HIPAA predominantly.” “

History 🏛 The Beach Waterpark Commercial

For the past 5+ years I have been trying to find a 90s-2000s commercial for The Beach Waterpark with the famous jingle. The only one on youtube or anywhere online are from around 2011 and 2012, right when they closed and reopened.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dHCY8p7xojs

This one is closer but not the same as the original.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ETJWkTT03xA

I have seen multiple people on here reference the jingle and the one from the videos posted IS NOT the famous one from the 00s. I have poured over a bunch of commercial block recordings online and somehow not run across it. Have I gone crazy and I just remember it differently?

I am hoping someone here has some recordings from that era of TV or might have a connection to the creators.

in search of🔎 Where to buy a bonsai?

I made an impulse purchase a few months ago and ordered a (supposedly) specific light for bonsai growth. So now I have a (supposedly) amazing light but not an actual plant.

Does anyone have any recommendations for where I can find a bonsai? Preferably on the Eastside.

The light is called Bonsai Bar if anyone is interested. I have absolutely no affiliation with them and this is not intended to be an ad for them. All I know so far is that the light turns on. It may end up being amazing or it may be a colossal POS.

Looking for some recommendations for places to go that have good thrifting/odd shops. Recently bought a house in Cincinnati area and would like to thrift most of the furniture and decorations if possible and at the same time use the upcoming long weekend to make it a road trip. Thanks in advance! 😊

Nightlife 🌃 Cheap events near the west side for mid to young 20 year olds

I’m a broke 24 year old and my job is a nanny so I get no social interaction outside of work. I graduated during the pandemic so all my friends from high school lost contact and are pretty to themselves and my family who I’m close with lives an hour away. I’d like to be able to make friends in town and go to more events to meet people but I’m not sure where to start. I’m a bit socially awkward and can talk an ear off about anything.

Travel/Visiting Family reunion planning

Starting to work on bringing my family’s annual reunion to Cincinnati in late July 2027. Will be a Thursday through Sunday. Around 90 to 100 attend. They drive and fly in from many different states coast to coast. Most have not been to Cincinnati before. For those who have planned something like this locally, any recommendations as far as hotels, attractions transportation, activities, etc.
