I made a first one-shot (The man in black fled across the ocean) to train and get experience as I want to draw a manga later, and here is the second one. I want to create my maritime universe, filled with unknown depths, strange creatures and mysteries to explore themes like the unknown, the limits of human perception, the nature of reality etc. About the process (for those interested): I draw and ink traditionally, with black drawing ink and dip pens (G, Maru, Saji), using a brush to fill the black areas. Then I scan it, and with a drawing tablet I erase all the little mistakes, ink smears etc, I also add the screentones and the text digitally. Drawing is not my primary activity, it's a hobby parallel to my studies, so I decided to have a simple art style (I can't spend 70+ hours to create a page), almost working in black and white only with a screentone, and a gradient for the scenes underwater. I usually do pages at a time, on a A3 sheet of paper. I hope you will enjoy it, don't hesitate to give it any feedback, even negative, and if you have questions, I can answer.

Nous is in a pickle

I wanted to share this with yall. My friends and I came up with this concept almost 11 years ago, when we’re around 16. Biting satire on the normalization and uplifting of p*dophiles in the community and society. I didn’t feel the world was ready for Boyhawk until now.

Richard Johnson aka Boyhawk is a hawk with the head of a man and the body of a man. He works as a janitor at the local elementary school where he encounters his future sidekick - a 9 year old named BoyBoy - BoyBoy, or Peter, is infatuated with Richard and watches him from afar. The problem is Peter is the only little boy Richard is completely repulsed by.

In an effort to prey on the vulnerable, Boyhawk frequently inadvertently ends up being forced into solving community problems, to cover his own ass for being where he is. And despite very clearly being a predator, Richard’s deeply suspicious behavior is ignored as he’s lifted up and revered in the community as a ~hero~.

Boyhawk has nothing explicit and Boyhawk never successfully offends.

Boyhawk has been sold in NYC, San Francisco - at Silver Sprocket- , Houston, Pittsburg, Philly, Rome, Berlin, and Amsterdam.

He’s definitely has a streak of controversy but he’s carved out a niche in the very unground world of comix; but with the upcoming Chris Hansen movie I wanted and felt it was time to share him with internet.
