News Today we're releasing OpenTS, a reverse-engineered open-source Tiberian Sun engine reconstruction, to celebrate 27th anniversary of the game
Fellow Command & Conquer fans,
Twenty-seven years ago today, Tiberian Sun was released. To celebrate, we have a gift for you: today we're releasing OpenTS – an open-source, playable reconstruction of the Tiberian Sun engine.
Of all the classic C&C games, it's the second generation – Tiberian Sun, Red Alert 2, Yuri's Revenge – whose source code never made it out. None of it was part of the Remastered Collection release, and none of it was among last year's source drops.
And so for nearly three decades, every fix and feature this community built for those games had to be reverse-engineered and patched into closed executables.
We decided to do something about that, starting with Tiberian Sun. Building on EA's GPL-released code for the games around it and years of Tiberian Sun reverse engineering, we rebuilt the engine and matched it function by function against the original executable – all ~11,150 known functions, reaching roughly 98% instruction-level matching (a code-matching score, to be clear, not "98% of the game").
It's ready to try today: drop Game.exe into your Tiberian Sun install from The Ultimate Collection and go. Campaigns, Firestorm, skirmish, and saves are all play-tested; LAN works with lighter testing; it plays like the game you remember, plus a batch of fixes and resolutions up to 4K. Alongside the engine, we're publishing a manual documenting the game's INI configuration, mapping, and internals, drawn straight from the source.
And this is a beginning, not an endpoint. Next up: CnCNet and client support (not in this first release yet), porting the community's accumulated fixes toward parity with ts-patches and Vinifera – and then going further, overhauling the engine to allow modding reach heights previously not possible.
We're also celebrating live: together with [FC]Matt we'll be streaming the original Tiberian Sun campaigns at https://www.twitch.tv/fortuneschaos, starting today at 14:00 UTC (15:00 UK · 16:00 CEST · 17:00 MSK · 10 AM Eastern · 7 AM Pacific), with a Q&A along the way — come hang out and ask us anything.

about to play c&c for the first time, which have good campaigns?
i never played a rts until recently because the pvp seemed stressful, but ive been loving the solo content and i heard c&c had goods campaigns. i was going to play generals but genpatcher wouldnt work so i think ill try c&c3 tiberium wars. are there any other c&c games you recommend for just the campaign? edit: after reading the comments and realizing c&c is split into two different timelines, ill play red alert 2+3 then ill play the other series afterwards and maybe skip tiberian dawn. i wasnt going to play red alert 1 but after reading a synopsis on it i want to play, the lore is killer

Meme Graphics are so impressive these days
"You can't kill the graphics, you can't see."
Generals zero hour still rocking with the graphics on portraits and in-game for 20+ years.

Gameplay got bored, decided to make a cinematic as exercise in cinematic script making.

it aint much, would do a bit better with some chatter but not until i finish all the heavy scripting first.
Also that shot of the comanche getting downed by a stray-fired missile, thats merely coincidental and not scripted whatsoever. It's hit or miss (ha) weather one of the pt boats fires off that lucky shot and it's not consistent at all, but makes that scene much better if and when it happens.
Tho the comanche dying is a failsafe, so more often than not it just randomly dies outta nowhere, but pretend it's residual damage from explosions around it.
Also i just love making scenes to the beat of a song... when the game doesn't lag and throw the syncing off... -w-' need more power to record and keep a constant 30fps cuz thats my standard timing measure for making my cutscenes in generals.

I finally did it after about 7 years, I finished my 2d rts about insect colony wars
I finally finish the insect war game I started so very long ago, went from top down
https://www.reddit.com/r/RealTimeStrategy/comments/d904i8/a_2d_rts_about_insect_wars/
to Isometric Starcraft and CnC style gameplay, I even changed the art style a few times, I was looking for a more sloppy simple comedy art style and landed on this.
Comes with 4 Major factions that fight for territory control on the alien planet of Antovia.
Play as Ants, Termites, Bees and Wasp with 4 different "very balanced" base building playstyles
Basic base building
Plant Seed Base building
Death by base building
Command style base building
All factions are unique with their own art styles, upgrades and stories! I even manages to add a few cool modes.
Campaign
Campaign Co Op
Conquest Mode
Skirmish Mode
Multiplayer - Co op, 1v1 to 16 v 16, FFA, missions and more!
I even got a steam page and is launching this year Nov 19th!

(The GIFs ruined the quality of the game)

Tiberian Sun CnC-DDraw missing from TSconfig.exe
Hello guys!
I have installed the steam version but it crashes as soon as I push start in steam. I tried patching it with TSpatch from the cncnet website. It installed, I can play the game, but I cannot choose CnC-DDraw renderer... there is no such option.
So I downloaded the full game from CNCNET website installed the full game, and still the TSconfig.exe doesn't have cncnet-ddraw.dll.... What the heck is going on.
There is only Automatic, GDI, DDrawCompat, ddwrapper, Direct3D 9.
I'm confused. Thank your for any advice in advance.

Ah yes, I'd love a Zerg defense game with Protoss in RA2YR, with GLA music
It is someone's private RA2YR mod, he took inspirations from Cameo
Wish he could release the mod publicly, very fun looking mod

I was wondering if red chaos is worth it it is currently on sale on steam.
I've been trying to play general zero hour online for months now and it just will not work no matter what I do because it is just an old game so I saw this today and was wondering your opinions? Sorry if this is the wrong sub

C&C Generals Zero Hour - Narrow Gate - USA Custom Mission | 5 hour mission 💀😆
Hi guys,
so back when I was somewhat new to YouTube someone commented on a random video and asked, if I can do the mission "Narrow Gate". He said he couldn't win and doesn't know how to progress.
I started the mission and it ended up to be a 5 hour mission. lol
Have fun watching!

Kane's Wrath mission Tacitus Interruptus. Even when you have grabbed the MCV, you still lose if it goes near the docks! Absolute genius.
