Discussion Which players in esports history has been unfairly scapegoated the most by the media and viewers when their team lose?

In sports we all know when a team lose the media and viewers always seem to point fingers at a particular player on the team that they view was the cause of the lose. Harry Maguire is a good example of this. So how about in esports? Which players in esports history have been unfairly scapegoated the most?

Event Simulation Premier League

Hello friends!

I would like to introduce the Simulation Premier League a new football/soccer sim league built around a custom simulation engine developed over the past few years. SPL has a full three-tier pyramid: Simulation Premier League, Simulation League One, and Simulation League Two. Clubs compete for promotion, fight relegation, earn prize money, and manage their finances across seasons.

Matches simulate automatically every day at 12:00 PM PST, with game threads featuring play-by-play commentary, team stats, and individual player performances. Alongside league play, clubs compete in the League Cup and Continental Championship. You can build a career as an 18-year-old free agent: sign contracts, develop your attributes through weekly activity, earn appearances, and be traded, sold, or loaned as you work your way up the pyramid. Or, take on the long-term challenge of running a club. Team Owners shape their club’s vision, finances, transfers, tactics, and squad building, either directly or through hiring Managers and Coaches.

We have just opened the Brand system a new type of General Manager experience. You control a brand and sign players and teams to sponsorship deals paying them money. How that team or player(s) performs impacts your "prestige" which can provide those players additional benefits and earn your brand even more cash for the next season!

Build your player. Build your club. Build your Brand and make your way to the top.

Question Charity eSports

On the cusp of a pretty big deal to have a Esport tournament running in up to 200 locations. Virtual, but likely to have finals in person. Which game would you prefer to play, and if admission was free but contingent on raising at least $100 Via peer to peer fundraising for the charity would you participate? What prize is motivating to you?

Discussion Which esports trophy has the worst design in your opinion?

Post image
0 Upvotes

In sports we all know that the Stanley cup is one of the worst trophies in sports with how ugly it is, being too big and made out of nickel instead of gold or sterling silver but what about esports? In your opinion which esports trophy has the worst design? Personally I say EVO because it doesn't look like a trophy/award at all and it looks like those "fancy" plastic paperweights that my old high school uses.

Discussion Did anyone felt like Esports World Cup looked worse this year?

Maybe it’s just me, but visually I thought the Esports World Cup looked really rough this year.

For an event with this much money behind it and one that is clearly trying to position itself as one of the biggest esports events in the world, I expected the overall production and presentation to look significantly more premium.

A lot of it just didn’t feel polished. The broadcast presentation, staging, camera work and overall visual package often made the event feel smaller and cheaper than it actually is.

That’s what surprised me the most. This isn’t some small tournament working with a limited budget, EWC has enormous resources behind it! You’d expect it to be setting the benchmark for what a modern esports broadcast can look like.

Instead, there were plenty of moments where other major esports events honestly looked considerably better.
Interested to hear what everyone else thought. Did the production look off to anyone else this year, or am I being overly critical?

Discussion If there was an esports hall of fame, which player or people that you know will get inducted despite their stats or impact to the industry say otherwise?

We often see this trope in sports when hof voters induct a questionable player or person in. Like for example the pro football hall of fame has Jerome Bettis and Jerry Jones but what about in esports? Which player or people do you think will be the most debatable hofer that will cause a lot of debate if they were voted in?

Discussion Last Man Standing pick'em for esports — we built the CS2 version, here's the format

For those who follow pick'em/bracket formats: most esports prediction games let you hedge across every match. Last Man Standing (LMS) flips that — limited "lives" and one pick per round, no repeats.

We applied it to CS2 with CS2 Survival (BETA live now, BLAST Open Porto Aug 26 – Sep 7):
• 1 life per phase.
• 1 team pick per GameRound, locked for the phase (no-repeat).
• Life lost on wrong pick or missed lock.
• Auto-reset next phase.
• Rounds track the real bracket with individual lock countdowns.
• Leaderboard: survivors > streak > points.

The no-repeat constraint is what makes it interesting — deep tournament knowledge beats hype picks. Curious if other scenes (LoL, Dota, Valorant) would want this format too.
