MOD POST Regarding Fortune's Weave Leaks and Rule 6

1.3k Upvotes

Hello r/FireEmblem,

Recently, a reviewer broke the embargo and started to leak the game on 4chan.

Our policy on leaks is zero tolerance. We will not allow any discussion of leaks of any kind. We understand the excitement for Fortune's Weave, but talking about leaks is an extremely risky proposition we do not participate in any longer. You will have to do it elsewhere.

Discussions about leaks, even if tagged, will be removed without warning.

If your post or comments are untagged leaks about Fortune's Weave, you will be banned from that day to the week after the game is released for untagged spoilers.

Thank you very much, and have a great day

Art [FE4] First Gen Character Awards! (Original Art)

Post image
351 Upvotes

Finished my blind run of the first half of FE4 in time for the release of Fortune’s Weave!

(I’ve done Character Awards for many of the tactical RPG I’ve streamed: Engage, FE8, Triangle Strategy, Unicorn Overlord, etc)

As always, these lil’ character awards are based on my playthrough of the game, so ymmv. I’ve been told my Quan in particular was very cursed. Either way, I had a blast with FE4! This game is so good so far!!!

[Note: I’ve played every other FE game, but I haven’t played the Jugdral duology, so please don’t spoil anything from the rest of FE4 or FE5 for me 😇]

Casual Fire emblem Fortunes weave is setting up a trilogy.

theory crafting/speculating/hoping because I love the world theyve made so far but i think fortunes weave is laying the ground work for a third and final game.

to start, three houses was made with not as much forethought in mind. Dagda and Brigid are heavily mentioned countries with very little world building in that game. all we knew back then was it was southwest of fodlan and Very different from fodlan. i dont believe they knew three houses would be such a success that it would result in a sequel but luckily they had set some groundwork for it and it worked out.

i think this time intsys KNOWS how popular this world is and they are setting things up WELL in advance just in case. the map of dagda is much larger than fodlans and dagda seems to be a sort of melting pot of people and cultures. there are indigenous tribes, the people of dagsion and saramis and arago etc. theyre putting a LOT of thought into the culture this time around. Where fodlan was loosely based on europe, dagda is intended to be very clearly based off northern africa, southern africa during roman rule.

the part i think is interesting and stands out tho is the country of Sai. many characters so far have been revealed to come from this mysterious land to the west and this land is very obviously China... wait. CHINA!? in a world so eurocentric who would expect their to be an in world China? i think intsys is going to leave a lot of details open about sai so they can build on it (and hopefully brigid which we also havent seen) in a future game. this would make the game come full circle from its original inspiration Romance of the Three Kingdoms which is a 14th century chinese classic.

if Dagda is the past and Fodlan is the present, maybe Sai will be our future

Art [OC] masterclasses and retainers for my fates sequel lords

(retainers on second slide)
These two master classes were designed with kind of a moral grayness in mind, where the twin you don’t pick can easily take on a more villainous role. Minato ends up rising up the ranks in hoshido’s military and as a Warlord, uses swords, bows, and staves to both fight and heal at the very front lines. Marin, on the other hand, becomes the face of Nohrian politics and diplomacy, and her proficiency in swords, tomes, and staves are befitting of someone with an almost magical pull over any crowd.

Their retainers also inform their later roles, with Osore the channeler serving as both Minato’s guardian and advisor to him and the rest of the royal family, granting vital tactical information to sharpen Minato’s mind on the battlefield (and maybe the occasional push towards touting him as a divine, chosen leader), while Maître’D Félix has trained Marin since birth in the ways of high society politicking, etiquitte, and all manner of talents a noblewoman ought to have (though, he is prone to occasional gossip with Marin about the comings and goings of other Nohrian nobility)

Also, I recognize that this might probably be getting a few degrees of separation away from proper FE stuff so i might need to find some kind of dedicated fan content subreddit to post more of tnis concept on….

Merrinposting has returned! Due to IRL stuff things may be shakier than last year, I've prepared drawings ahead of time to get a head start. Sorta defeats the purpose of daily drawings but some things can't be helped. Regardless, I hope to keep going to show my love of Merrin!

Art [OC] lords for like a fates sequel concept

Post image
235 Upvotes

super half baked concepts but im playing through conquest lunatic and got inspired to draw something related to it. these two aren’t corrin but they’re distantly related to them and were an auspicious pair of twins given to the nohrian and hoshidan royal families as blessings and to prevent conflict from ever arising between the nations again…or…something

anyway! marin’s super charismatic and driven and wants to help her nation any way she can, while minato is stiff and overly serious by comparison and is nervously handling the responsibility of holding a high position in hoshido’s military

Story I have played Three Houses only once and took the church route.

That's it. Just wanted to share.

Recently I've been thinking about replaying the game, and almost everyone talks about how the church route is the worst and should be played last (if at all).

And here I am, church is all I know.

PS. I guess I do have a question. If I decide to replay it, do you have any opinion on which route I should take?

Goldmary is a royal guardswoman of Elusia. Hortensia's retainer and friend. Though she tends to be a bit timid, she's actually very confident in herself and can make rather bold statements. She is 19 and joins at the start of chapter 16 along with Rosado to help Hortensia after leaving Elusia.

General Which fire emblem story feels the most whimsical/fairytalesque? Which feels the least?

Post image
18 Upvotes

First let me explain a bit what I mean. Obviously fire emblem takes some common tropes like storytelling structure and character attitudes, and simple story morals that are a kin to those in traditional fairytales.
For example, I think probably Fates and Echoes fit the best, especially fates. You have very black-and-white plot points and fantastical plot points, putting a magic barrier over a kingdom, an underground kingdom, and invisible soldiers, a spell that doesn’t allow you to mention, said kingdom and tell me Garon doesn’t feel like a typical fairytale villain. I think the best evidence of this is actually Corrin He has many parallels with fairytale heroines kind of growing up like sleeping beauty or naïveté the results in danger kind of like Snow White and the apple.
I think the least, like a fairytale has to be the Tellius games especially path of radiance. It focuses so much on specific political problems to its world and either leaves out some of the common series, fairytale tropes or has them, but doesn’t put them front and center. Ex: Marth being the main character a prince that needs to save his kingdom. Vs Elincia who has a similar struggle, but it’s not the main focus of the title.
