Exit row refusal, no action taken

My friend recently was seated in a emergency row on a short flight. When the flight attendants came around to ask about passenger willingness/ability to help, the person across the aisle from her said "no." She said the flight attendant walked away looking a bit displeased, so she assumed the person was going to be reseated. They were not. It was a full flight. What happened here? CRJ-900 operated by Endeavor Air, if that helps.

Coworker upset over little stuff?

Hi guys!

Today I flew with this coworker that I worked with before, who seems okay on paper but every single time I work with her I feel emotionally and mentally drained. She doesn't say a word to me, only strictly necessary stuff. Which I don't mind.

Literally for securing a table with a latch and the fact that I wrote a note on a box to make it easier to identify which box is which and for what, she was like: "After so much time why are you still trying to prove yourself?" Or something like that, which left me speechless and weirded out when I heard it because it's absolutely not the case. She also said she felt "disrespected", again, because of the reasons I explained.

Yesterday during boarding she was busy with some passengers in the back of the plane and I came from the front to see if I can help her somehow and speed up the process. Since I saw her busy in the back I decided to just go and do the briefings at the emergency exits myself, because everyone was already sitted there. Instead of saying something like "Thank you!" she was like: "Why did you do it? You shouldn't have done it, it's my duty. Next time ask me first before you do it." Like, can you spew a more toxic thing in a situation like a busy boarding?

Yet today every single flight she came securing the cabin towards me, even though that's not her duty. But hey, I didn't confront her or anything.

Today I felt like walking on eggshells and my other coworker also noticed that she was irrationally upset with me for virtually no reason.

You know the worst? I actually helped this person before and was super kind towards her. And now she does this.

Was this an emotional vampire? I was feeling drained in her presence without her saying a single word to me. I very, very rarely have such encounters.

In Houston, do people usually drink iced tea before lunch?

Hi! I'm based in Korea and I'm currently in Houston. In Houston, do people usually drink iced tea before lunch? At a BBQ restaurant, when I sat at the table, the server asked me if I wanted iced tea, but the people next to us were drinking hot tea. the tea is which flavor? I love Houston, thank you!

Toiletry/makeup storage

Can I see how everyone stores their toiletries and makeup? I currently have everything in one big bag that I bought at TJMaxx, but I feel like it takes up half of my suitcase. I’m always looking for suggestions on how to pack, so any suggestions are appreciated!

Broke my laptop screen in my suitcase.

As stated… I think I just over packed my travelpro suitcase and the tension with the laptop+soft case in the front ā€œlaptopā€ pocket of the suitcase caused it to break. Now I am paying $500 to get my screen replaced. :( I’ve been packing it this way for a few months but now, obviously, I won’t be.

How do you go about safely packing your laptop for layovers and such when our bags go every which way in overhead bins, vans, etc. Anyone else experienced this or have tips?

I am sooo determined for this to be the first and last time this happens. Eating the cost to fix is so frustrating!

American (AA) Attendance meeting

Just got an email that i have a meeting in 2 weeks with inflight labeled at 35R close out meeting. Im on my last month of probation and have had to call out three times due to being sick. I dont have any late sign ins or missed trips, i had meetings for each sick call l even had dr notes as well.

In the meetings they told me during probation they are mostly looking for any late sign ins or missed trips, they dont weigh being sick as hard. That being said, one of my sick calls was a late call out, by 10 minutes.

Now two ish weeks later i get an email for a 35R close out meeting. I know other people in my graduating class have more points accumulated but at different bases.

Im super nervous, i dont want to lose this job ):

I guess im just looking fir any advice or if anyone has been in similar situations at all.

update : they dis say in the meetings that union rep has been arranged on my behalf

Is it true that working at WN is very racist??? If you have experienced a situation and feel comfortable sharing please share. Although I’m not at WN I would love to figure out a way that we can all come together to shine light on this issue….

AMITIA? Expensive special coffee orders when the Captain offers....

A few days ago....

Heading to the airport... on the shuttle... Captain says:

"I'm going to stop at the coffee shop before I get to the gate? Anyone want anything? It's on me?"

First off... WOW. Thank you. VERY generous.

I was one of the four of five of us who said "No, Thank you."

While four out of five of us appreciated the offer... we all politely declined.

THEN CAME THE FIFTH:

"I'll take a large decaf vanilla latte with soy milk instead of regular milk, four extra shots of vanilla and one shot of Cappuccino."

I'm sorry.... What the actual fuck?

Why do the pilots STOP trying to do nice things for us? Because of bullshit like THIS?

Or am I the asshole for thinking this girl was way out of line?
