As part of the rsnked dominion update Ubisoft seems to have dropped linux support disabling the game on Linux.

It’s just going to fracture our already scattered community. People been playing on Linux devices are going to lose access to For Honor.

They aren’t even able to get a refund, they have to buy a new device or replace their OS system. Fucking classic Ubisoft.

I wanna start by saying that I'm not affected by it, I play exclusively on my PC which uses Windows.

But I cannot stand to hear the devs saying "Hey, you chose to use Linux, you can't play anymore."

I don't know how big the Linux player base is, but they are players who helped keep the game alive by buying battle passes, heroes, steel, maybe even more for some.

And now, because we have ranked Dominion, for anti-cheat reasons they shouldn't be allowed to play the game at all? They came on stream at Gamescom for a big announcement, only to hear they won't be able to play FH anymore in TWO FUCKING WEEKS?

This is utterly disrespectful from Ubi and the dev team, even if I guess they had less say in the matter.

This needs to be a massive backlash. That's the only way they understand things. We need to make noise. Delay the ranked release. Or just keep supporting Linux — cheaters will break the anti-cheat on Windows just as fast anyway.

I love that game, it's one of my favorites; but here I'm just angry at the huge middle finger they gave to a part of the community and especially in such short terms. Peoples that were hyped for the next season, next hero, are just told to get the fuck out.

Been playing before release, it was my comfort game. And as much as it failed before I was excited for competitive domination. Unfortunately these days I only get to play on my steam deck. And they said they won't be supporting anymore due to "cheaters".

"We are removing For Honor from the Linux platform to ensure a safer environment for our players as we cannot meaningfully deploy protection on this platform. This means that For Honor will no longer be playable on Steam Deck starting September 10th."

We cannot allow Linux support to be dropped because some basement dwelling cheaters might be using Linux to cheat. When does Windows get dropped for the same? It makes absolutely no sense.

I would rather have months of no content than lose our Linux brothers in arms if funding is an issue and I am sure many agree. Save Linux Support!

The update will also prevent players from playing casual/unranked matches not just competitive/ranked.

Singleplayer campaign will also be affected by this change if their statement about "game will no longer run on Linux systems." is true, making the game completely unplayable on Linux.

Why is a game where you can fight as histories most infamous warriors not even just fight you can team up in a 4v4. Samurai fighting with knight or with a Viking or just dueling to see who’s better. Why that niche? Thoughts?

I will try again when the update launches proper but for now I would avoid requesting a refund as I would not be suprised if having multiple attempts on record would reduce your odds of actually being accepted in the future.

Ive played this game hundreds of hours on my steam deck and now I wont be able to play because of cheaters that dont exist on linux? Cheaters use pre-made things that are built only for windows as niche as Linux is and we are genuinely gutting support for it even though its been proven kernel anti cheat does nothing to deter cheaters (of which for honors majority is lag switchers)

Id appreciate if the community could speak out about this because it alienates some of the already small playerbase we have for a mode no one realistically cares that much about.

Dbd is currently doing the same thing but using anti cheat trials to see if it even works to begin with so why cant ubisoft?

The odds of someone installing a new fucking os just to cheat on for honor is insane to even think about and even then just ban them and up the moderation... this game is already at the end of its lifespan so why are we getting rid of entire platforms? I and a plethora of other users enjoy this game and still put money into it but get spat on for supporting it? Kinda says alot about how much they care when r6 still has cheaters.

Let's remove support for an entire system for a mediocre reason in the disguise of getting rid of cheaters. People who have given money since before the game released will be thrown to the sidelines for no real reason, more than most likely no compensation, no offline mode, no separate servers, only no support. People who had bought the game just a week ago spent money on the cool characters and cosmetics just to be told the game will get continued support and content but not for them, but they were more than happy to still take the money. I hope there's some miscommunication or that I'm wrong, hopefully there will be separate servers or a different comp queue but I'm doubtful.

I have played this game since it’s open beta. It’s made me angry, it’s made me sad, and it’s definitely made me angry, but over all these years it’s been fun. Ubisoft is now blocking easy anti cheat on Linux along with new Steam box users. It was fun guys. I don’t support Microslops shitdows and don’t own anything higher than a ps3 anymore. Thanks Ubisoft for taking my ability to play a game I was playing fine for years, very cool. GG

The reskin of the armor is sort of a letdown, but it’s a decent reskin. My issue is that they wanna make ranked ornaments ugly ass universal coins again..

Ranked ornaments should be hero specific for whichever hero is getting the armor set for that ranked season, literally nobody wears the universal ones anyways!

Deflect getting interrupted by chained 400ms lights, heavy armor pin zone getting stumbled out, her t4 going on cooldown on interrupt compared to feats like longbow and such getting interrupted but still available and ready.

Love khatun, despite sometimes she really feels like shit to play because you make the right reads and inputs but game robs you from half of her kit actually connecting like it should

I know that if i could manage to slip even a single flip there it could have gone more smoothly xD
