Fgo sweep, also the gap between og Arknights and endfield is pretty concerning since the only thing Arknights had going on this month was bellone’s banner iirc 💀

118

u/Mindless_Being_22 7h ago

Cn had angelina alter which was very popular it hit third on the app store which is very rare for it.

18

u/False-Entrepreneur14 7h ago

I completely forgot about angelina lol, I don’t see a lot of people talking about her these days so she slipped my mind

18

u/Catveria77 Arknights 7h ago edited 7h ago

Not many talk about her because she is another braindead dps in a sea of braindead dps the game has been churning lately. And she is not even the top game breaking braindead dps like wisadel or wang was.

I guess people get desensitized

17

u/Heratikus 7h ago

Part of it might also be a little bit of caution in preparation for the P3R collab.

9

u/higorga09 7h ago

She's brain dead in a different way though, what with take-off basically being invulnerability.

3

u/Chance-Range2855 6h ago

Also persona collab next week so people moved on quick

2

u/Casual291 5h ago edited 1h ago

Brothers Angelina is not the top dog like Wang, but she not as washed up DPS like Wisadel what are you talking about.

5

u/smoothtv99 7h ago

For a sec I got excited and thought Angelina Alter was in Endfield, though I guess technically she is there with Gilberta

50

u/Attention5955 7h ago

I see people here often say Endfield makes 70% of their revenue from other platforms, so it should be estimated around 20m. Endfield with all platforms combined still makes less than mobile only Arknights. And it's revenue seems to be keep dropping This is not looking good for Endfield ngl.

8

u/Celsis 6h ago

Arknights is no longer mobile only though. Global PC client released Aug 13th and CN released back in February.

6

u/Roth_Skyfire Fate/Grand Order 6h ago

I'd imagine most players for it are still on mobile though. The game also runs and plays really well on mobile, unlike Endfield.

1

u/ComedianExtreme7522 6h ago

Arknights isn't mobile only, but it's most definitely designed as a mobile-first game. And with so many people already used to playing on mobile, they're gonna keep doing that. Endfield Factory is hell to manage using mobile, regardless of how much optimization and QoL they introduce to it. It's just way easier on PC or with a Controller.

0

u/swizzlad 4h ago

That game is being funded by OG ak right now. If that isn't a simple sign of eos levels of performance than idk what is

u/White_Shadow7 3h ago

No shit the game was funded by OG AK to begin with lol

u/crookedparadigm 1h ago

This is not looking good for Endfield ngl

Good, tbh. Game was aggressively mid in everything except visuals.

23

u/liamgm_ 7h ago

The big four , love to see Fate x Fate , FGO and HSR Fate collab

6

u/kuraokami89 7h ago

I want FGO x Genshin Impact Collab

2

u/liamgm_ 7h ago

nah not gonna happen, both have the same aura, stingy and successful

2

u/Zzz05 5h ago

Going to be interesting to see where HSR winds up next month. It’s going to likely dip again, and players aren’t happy with the state of the game, so will Hoyo finally course correct because of it? Or will they continue to be stubborn and push the HP inflation and Elation shilling agenda?

u/chuupa1289 3h ago

tbf these 2d mobile only titles will look inflated in this mobile only list, the big scope 3d gachas make way more still

8

u/Meaon_Ria 7h ago

Yeah crazy it made just 6M

18

u/whenthebirdsfall 7h ago

There's nothing much to spend on in endfield though. Dupes have low meta value and you can easily clear everything with free characters. Weapons are pretty much free too. No relic/gear grind so spenders dont even need to spend on stamina.

25

u/Kuroi-sama 7h ago

Pretty much same can be said about Arknights, yet it makes much more and without every banner being limited.

8

u/No_Pineapple2799 6h ago

It's worth noting that nearly every month has had limited/collab banners in either CN or Global. Last month had Angelina alter, next month is persona 3, they're definitely gonna make bank. Endfield's current performance reminds me of a normal standard banner in the OG

u/White_Shadow7 3h ago

This and limiteds are more expensive to spark than a guarantee in EF. I spent 3x as much on 1 copy of Silverash compared to 1 EF guarantee, I think the man's out for my money.

2

u/Airou_MH 6h ago

Eh not really the same, you can spend on way more things aside from pulls in ak. In endfield your option is literally only pulls, people like me who has enough to guarantee really have no reason to buy anything. At least in ak i have the option to buy outfits or themes.

13

u/Antares428 7h ago

There is nothing exciting in Endfield period. Game has very severe content issue.

5

u/whenthebirdsfall 7h ago

I find myself wayyy more bored in wuwa than endfield though.

9

u/Antares428 7h ago

That's subjective.

Personally, I think both WuWa and Genshin can be played as much as anyone wants. Players are incentivized/rewarded if they spend more time. In WuWa I could farm echoes, or improve time/train, or explore, or just fight, because combat system is really good. In Genshin, it's mostly exploration, but it's also very rewarding.

In Endfield, past streamlined exploration, story, and factory setup, there's nothing to come back to, except chores. Combat system is unique, but it's honestly very tedious for normal daily play.

But that's just my opinion.

3

u/whenthebirdsfall 7h ago

If you like grind them I guess wuwa is good since they force you to grind a lot due to echo rng.  I prefer the lack of rng in my gearing system.

Wuwa system is overly flashy and most of the time you can't see your character anyway. Endfield's combat is much better.

6

u/Antares428 6h ago edited 6h ago

Force? Not really. 3/5 baseline per echo can be achieved via pretty much exclusively daily stamina spending in like 2 weeks.

But if you you want to max out, option for that it's there, for people willing to spend more time, for rather minimal gains.

Yeah, WuWa combat is flashy. And it's enjoyable in pretty much every type of encounter. Small mobs, medium elites, and chunky bosses.

Endfield combat system is unique and intricate. But at the same time, it's very tedious for any sort of daily use. Majority of DPS characters are Ult locked, and do no damage outside of their Ult. And Ult rotations are incredibly long. 15-20s uptime, with 30-40s downtime in optimistic scenario. Which results in awful experience vs anything that's not a chunky boss. And HG knows it. They've already reduced times players need to engage with less pleasant parts of the system. In overworld, combat most commonly happens within Energy Alluvium, where it's mostly handled by turrets. In Protocol spaces, characters start with full ultimates, so players don't have to do lengthy setup phases just to farm most basic items.

-2

u/zenmoUi 5h ago

That's some massive cope. Holding down left button simulator's combat isn't even close to other open world games

1

u/dbgtboi 4h ago

The weapon banner is horrible

I used to defend it but after dealing with it, it's shit

If I want a character + weapon I need to make 200-240 banner pulls, it's so shit that I just don't pull weapons at all

If they just allowed you to buy arsenal tickets directly using the red primos that would solve it and actually encourage spending on weapons

Other games need around 150 pulls for a character + weapon or 200ish if unlucky, endfield currently is 220ish unless you are extremely lucky, it's stupid

2

u/whenthebirdsfall 4h ago

But a weapon is not necessary at all unlike some "other games". The free weapons you get are very viable. And you can, on average, get a weapon for free every two characters you pull.

1

u/dbgtboi 4h ago

You get a weapon for free every 2 characters if you fail the 50/50s and go to 120 pity, see the problem?

Getting lucky on a character banner just screws you out of weapons

Of course you dont need signature weapons, but I'm not pulling if I can't get the weapon, I'm not wasting 120 pulls to get a character operating at 80% strength because of stupid design decisions

This should not be a thing at all, they are the only gacha doing this, why not just copy the template that every other gacha does that works?

The whole argument of "you don't need that" is the reason their revenue is dropping, because you dont need the characters either, make it make sense and the money will come in

28

u/SnooWords1612 7h ago

I suppose most of Endfields revenue comes from PC players, just like NTE for example.

7

u/DoctorPeppen 7h ago

afaik Endfield is better optimized, while also having substantially slower combat. It probably has a higher ratio of mobile players than NTE.

10

u/Current-Abrocoma-525 7h ago

playing endfield on mobile is pretty wild due to factory system despite the optimisations.

4

u/johj14 7h ago edited 7h ago

while it does look good but in wuling my SDG gen 3 cant even reach stable 60 fps, optimized or not, its still demanding

1

u/DuchessCayenne 7h ago

Endfield is ass on mobile it stutters on my snapdragon elite phone. Wuwa is smoother for me

1

u/SnooWords1612 7h ago

dont know about playerbase, but revenue is about 60% PC players for both

-2

u/Fast_Buy7066 6h ago

The Game is absolutely unplayable on Mobile

1

u/IrvinHurst 7h ago

I have a genuine question and interest about both Endfield and NTE: is that the only reason of this games being so low on the chart? Endfield's themes, setting, and some part of gameplay seemed quite intriguing at launch, and NTE was highly anticipated, with many calling it "anime GTA." What really happened to those games?

9

u/DrakRush 6h ago

I can’t speak about Endfield but NTE brought ~300 million in 4 months it’s been out according to Perfect World’s financial report around a week ago and I think it was mentioned at some point that PC and consoles account for 60% of total revenue. If the game came out day 1 on several platforms you can mostly disregard these revenue numbers since they only cover one platform the game is on.

12

u/SnooWords1612 7h ago

nothing "happened", they are both doing very fine. Sure, they both have their own issues, but both are very good games in their own way.

Dont forget, Endfield is around 7 months old, NTE around 5 months, so both games are very much in their baby phase. And what I noticed, both Dev teams are heavily listening to player feedback.

Dont let the mobile revenue of a single region keep you from playing those awesome games.

39

u/ArCSelkie37 7h ago

It’s only concerning if you think a gacha’s health is based on monthly pvp on this subreddit. Considering these numbers are far from accurate in terms of overall income…

In the end it doesn’t really matter if any game is making as much money as FGO or whatever the current No.1 is, what matters is that they’re making enough to be sufficiently profitable to continue running the game. Which they seem to be.

28

u/SireTonberry- 7h ago

Same for zenless i think data shows these two are played mostly on platforms other than mobile

Of course you wont explain it for this sub which thinks this chart is 100% true report from devs themselves

5

u/Golden-Owl Game Designer with a YouTube hobby 7h ago

Understandable really. Zenless is pain to play on mobile

2

u/8aash 5h ago

maintaining the agenda is our number one priority.

7

u/planetarial P5X(KR)/IN/Prosekai(JP) Future: Petit Planet/Silent Whispers 7h ago

Yes its not very reliable for games that are mostly played on PC.

Case in point Tower of Fantasy makes dogshit revenue according the charts for ages but its been running fine for years cause the majority of the playerbase is on PC

2

u/otvinta727 7h ago

yeah, it is a somewhat decent gague to see relative trends and comparisons amongst big budget open world/open world adjacent gacha but completely inaccurate when trying to comapre those types with old school gacha game models.

The idea that most people play these games on phone is very outdated. Especially people that play multiple of them. With a 128GB phone i can only really afford to have one of those big games downlaoded, even then it is a extremely poor experience compared to PC.

8

u/VerseShadowx 7h ago

The issue is that generally if you have less revenue, they tend to invest less into the game which over time makes the game worse, so it does matter even if it's not going to just go EoS or whatever. These charts are only showing directionally how the games are doing rather than accurate numbers, but I can't imagine Hypergryph is stoked about how the game is doing given how much they put into it to make it look like it does.

16

u/ZacdelaRocha 7h ago

That's not necessarily true. Just look at HSR and ZZZ. Star rail consistently makes much more money but ZZZ has so much more investment in the game, it's not even funny.

HG is fine, they're still making a profit. They most likely expected this since the market for 3D gachas right now is pure hell.

1

u/VerseShadowx 6h ago

You definitely put more investment in at first to try to turn the ship around, as ZZZ has done, but if it continued performing like 2.x, you'd definitely start to see less investment there given all their other titles.

u/ZacdelaRocha 2h ago

They did put more effort, including in 2.x, which was bad because the story sucked ass, not because of lack of effort. It never seen big increases in revenue even after yixuan and shungus and yet, they kept putting a lot of effort into presentation, events, kit animations, etc. anyway.

HSR is an established game with an established playerbase so it can cut corners (unfortunately), but more recent 3D gachas need to remain very competitive or they will die off.

6

u/ArCSelkie37 7h ago

I’ll take note of that if that becomes observably true within the game.

3

u/Clover_Zero GFL/GFL 2/PNC/AK/SN/IN/TKRB 7h ago

(Sweats in max pot Bellone) I contributed! 😂

8

u/droughtlevi Arknights 6h ago

Nothing to be concerned about. HG will continue pumping money in whatever the hell they like to expand the Arknights universe. It'd be bad if AK and Endfield was both earning $1m on this chart, then there'll be cause for concern.

Otherwise, it's just all the same fucking posters every single month shitting on Endfield because of how mad they were that the game wasn't for them when they tried it in January.

At this point, I know basically 80% of their names and I never even meant to look out for them while reading this subreddit during slow work hours.

6

u/fivemincom 6h ago

It’s funny how Endfield players just mind their own business but so many butthurt people want to feel vindicated in hating the game for whatever reason

4

u/DerpTripz 4h ago

Honestly, people keep talking as if HG is gonna pull the plug because it's not making 10s of millions and not outperforming original Arknights.

The game ofc has its issues but I appreciate that they've gone all the way to adding all sorts of QoL, listening to player feedback and overall just not make it feel like I'm forced to open up the wallet for things like dupes because of FOMO.

11

u/NihilityOnly 7h ago

Imagine pouring way more resources into your new game just for it to make less money than the first one lmao (which is also much cheaper in maintaining)

-1

u/Fit-Yam759 7h ago

You're not taking into consideration the fact that only 40% of players are playing Endfield on mobile in China and only 30% are mobile players globally/overseas markets. The rest of 60% in China and 70% global are PC and PS5 players.

5

u/Antique_Mouse3261 7h ago edited 7h ago

Same with og AK. With the PC client in global no sane person will buy through the Google fees. We had no option before, now that we have the client bye bye stupid Google. And CN had the client 7 months before. A client that plays 100 times better than mobile. Now Idk if in CN they have some sort of taxes if you buy from mobile but in general the same could be said for every game with a PC client.

Edit: typo.

4

u/droughtlevi Arknights 6h ago

Idk what you mean by no sane person will buy through Google fees. Maybe it's more expensive in your country but it doesn't seem to be the case for me.

And I would legit end myself if I had to use the PC client to fucking buy shit (and I buy EVERYTHING on the store, no exceptions at all) because it's so fucking troublesome as shit versus one tapping everything on my phone. I have asked literally most of the JP AK IS streamers how they found the purchasing experience and every single one of them said fuck buying anything on PC.

0

u/Antique_Mouse3261 6h ago

Fair enough I guess. In my country is more expensive, and if I can save some money while supporting the games I like, more clicks are nothing. I'm not that lazy.

2

u/andre5n 6h ago

Still somehow lower than arknights revenue this month.

2

u/DerpTripz 4h ago

From what I heard it's a popular Alter character while for Endfield it's a 2nd banner original character that's not the patch focus

3

u/arshesney 7h ago

EoSfield imminent

4

u/babudinha 7h ago

Endfield is lowkey garbage when you have ZZZ and wuwa to play imo... the combat is genuinely so bad it reminds me of the LADS combat. LADS combat is the worst thing I've even experienced. There's the factory gameplay but I don't see anyone enjoying that besides roblox players??? OG Arknights is too goated

1

u/No-Car-4307 5h ago

do you have to be reminded that its mobile revenue only? enfield is kinda graphics heavy and somewhere i head their numbers on pc are on par with the OG arknights.

-2

u/Stev__ AK:E | ZZZ | GI | NTE | HSR | WuWa 7h ago edited 7h ago

OG Arknights is basically mobile only so not a good comparison, is a bit disappointing seeing Endfield underperforming relative to NTE etc though

I know OG Arknights has a PC client now, but it is heavily designed for mobile and that is what the established playerbase will be on

18

u/Chemical_Rent6824 HSR | OG Arknights 7h ago

Ak is not mobile only, CN got PC client like 7 months ago and global and jp got it last month

14

u/Meaon_Ria 7h ago

OG arkhight is not Mobile only

0

u/Darkion_Silver 7h ago

While true, this is the first month we can say that lol, in global anyway. It's not been THAT long in CN either

0

u/Stev__ AK:E | ZZZ | GI | NTE | HSR | WuWa 7h ago

yes I know but its built for mobile, the vast majority of revenue will be from mobile while I expect for Endfield the majority is from PC/Console

5

u/Antique_Mouse3261 7h ago

Meh. It's kinda hard doing the endgame or in general playing on mobile tbh, at least for me. And with a PC client now I can finally stop paying the Google fees.

3

u/Chemical_Rent6824 HSR | OG Arknights 6h ago

I'd disagree with that. After playing on PC, the game is almost unplayable on mobile. The only reason you'd not play on PC most of the time is if you have a large tablet to play on. While it won't be as low as 20-30% like endfield I'd say the mobile revenue for og Arknights is probably not more than 50% of the overall revenue

0

u/Optimal-Will8112 7h ago

it's almost as if most people are there for the story... you know... the one thing that can't be replaced by any other game... they wanted low effort waifu money instead... now let's see if they'll start to use their brain instead. 1.4 was a good start. looking forward to the next region.

1

u/phil2047 7h ago

This month was a single banner for Endfield vs last month having two banners. Still, even with the 30% mobile / 70% PC split, I would expect them to increase a bit more.

1

u/Barnak8 7h ago

I want to go back to Endfield, but with Genshin and ZZZ , i have no time :(

1

u/Cruel2BEkind12 6h ago

Based on that gamescom booth, I'd say they are doing just fine. You don't put the biggest booth at a huge convention like that making no money.

-3

u/Vulkrein 7h ago

Endfield is always gonna be weird cause I doubt most people are playing on phone

0

u/Fit-Yam759 7h ago edited 7h ago

This is for mobile but even then it's not exactly correct because these are just estimations.

Anyway, Endfield is mostly played on PC and PS5 as it has already been shown officialy through their financial reports.

60% of people in China play on PC and globally/overseas markets 70% play on PC and PS5.

Considering that, those numbers are alright.

-1

u/Standard-Effort5681 7h ago

Reminder that this graph only shows mobile revenue. I believe the devs said in an interview somewhere that as much as 80% of players play on PC and console? But regardless of that, the monthly PvP chart shows a massive 35% drop in revenue. If the PC and console revenue follows this same downward trajectory then yeah this is a pretty bad omen!

-8

u/Charibdysss 6h ago

i still don't know why there's so many people here still defend that the game is doing good.

When it's blatantly is the worst 3d gacha open world by a mile, like multiple times worse than wuwa's controversial launch, ZZZ's pre 2.6 snoozefest or even NTE's multiple AI controversies. Take certain skill to fumble with launch hype around the same level like zzz's

HG needs to pack it up and go back to their 2d roots, they ain't ready for 3d yet.😭🙏
