You could have placed any collab and it would have been the same, most people playing nikke don't care about the random ass characters that just appear for 3 weeks and disappear forever. Shift up knows, that's why those characters are never really meta defining.
That's also why they recently said that each collab will be treated differently from now on. Which means that some of them will be shorter, with no map and no minigame. But there will also be longer ones if SU feels like Nikke has good synergy with the IP they are collaborating with, which is a good step in the right direction I think.
Asuka and Rei weren't meta defining but they were a meta combo for a bit since they fed into each other. Making units require other units to hit their peak really took off after the persona collab with how mediocre every absolute overclock is outside of Vesti unless you have the other two
I wish they would stop churning out two collabs a year. It’s a waste of resources because the collab stories mostly suck, the collab characters are mostly useless.
Most of the collabs just caters to the JP audience since they are Nikkes main source of income so unless global starts beating jp (doubtful) we ain't getting anything that caters to our taste collab wise.
nah its the usual month for nikke, its always hover at min 10mil if its not anniv and summer
its a actually higher than lycoreco collab too
but the question will be does "16 mil enough" with collab cost when without collab they can do more or less same money. of does it match devs set expectation?
collab can pull say 99 million while costing 20 million but if the expectation is 150 mil it might come of as "failure" in suits eyes
16 mil isnt bad i think, they are usually on 10-14 mil. But i do agree with you, they used to be 3 collab a year but SU reduced it to 2, but i feel like 2 is still too much. Especially when these collab takes 2 event slot that could actualy be used for the game own world building
It was such a bizarre collab choice. I understand Persona used to sexualize the characters themselves, but it's clear they're trying to move away from that a bit as they continue to try to appeal to a Western audience that finds sexualizing high schoolers a bit weird.

Nikke's persona collab knocked them down so hard, it was so poorly received and the units failed to live up to expectations even just looks wise
