41cm double tissue paper

kinda scuffed result, it has a closed back but made with too thick paper so mandibles are too thick. also, the elytra and wings are too small to make the design more efficien.

I gave her/him some sugar water and squished blueberry juice in a cotton swab, it’s been taking it just fine but beyond little bursts of energy it doesn’t seem to be doing well. I think it’s on its last legs :(
Anything else I may he able to do to help it? Or is this a hospice situation

I personally don't agree with the depiction of the wasp, as they've always been super gentle in my experience, but the rest are pretty accurate.

Google lens says it's a type of moth, but that body shape tricks me. (Colombia, Antioquia)

Question what happened here??

(northwest england)

i was poking around to try and find any cocoons in my garden, and found one with this inside. its definitely a caterpillar (upper legs visible) but its basically mummified??

it was in one piece originally, but was so fragile it split as i opened the cocoon. probably a failed pupation or parasitoid, but the body seems too fat, and the only larva on it are other moth larvae (that i reckon may have just found themselves in the cocoon while looking for leaves to roll)

The ant is a tiny creature, yet it teaches some of life’s greatest lessons in persistence and unity.

This morning, I found these little ones turning a massive cicada into a shared feast. Individually, they’re tiny. Together, they’re an unstoppable force…. each one moving with incredible precision toward the same purpose.

Strength in numbers. Precision in purpose. 🐜

We live in Washington state (zone 8b) and saw these on our curly willow tree. Creamy colored and a bit more tan toward the top of the leaf.

Question Wasp Regurgitation

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Video taken in the PNW of a wasp (I believe Vespula alascensis? Pls lmk if it is something else!) eating a bit of dried up turkey that later drops. My question comes after the turkey drops and she’s cleaning herself, then regurgitates something, but does not go back for it and it doesn’t seem to be liquid. I’m curious if anyone knows why a wasp does this/ if there is a name for this process? I want to know more about what is occurring in this video. I assume it’s not trophallaxis since it’s not between 2 individuals. These wasps were really after the turkey on this trip! But nobody was stung so we are happy about that :~) Thank you very much for any replies in advance!
