Is tethering cellular data/internet from an iPhone to an iPad still slow/unreliable?
I use an iPhone 11, would like to use the iPad to watch shows/streams if using the internet (tethered).
I’ve no wifi at the place I’m staying, it will be either an iPad A16 2025 or the version before it.

Is there a way to use an iPad as a portable 'extension' of my MacBook?
I mainly would need to access document files, and emails.

My friend was using my iPad Pro M5 13 inch charger on his android phone and iphone for like a month or smth. Can this be the reason why my ipad is taking sooo long to charge to 80%. Its only 2 months old ipad. It used to 80% in under 2 hours but now its like 5-6 hours

My mother purchased an iPad but didn't use it ...and then lost the pass code. Any attempts to retrieve didn't work and eventually I tried a restore process which it is now stuck on. I have tried everything... restore via Apple Devices (1109 error which i believe is a time out) downloaded Ipsw image from ipsw.me - restore starts and finishes around halfway with a -1 error). Tried iTunes restore multiple times, error -1 or 1109 errors. Disabled Firewall and updated DNS as per Apple instruction (did not feel comfortable doing this but it did nothing) tried two laptops and various cables. I'm totally stumped. Any ideas please?

Title, so updated my iPad a few weeks ago to the latest version and ever since I've been having performance issues with it, specifically the continuity copy paste feature from my MBA. Whenever I copy paste stuff to my iPad now it takes way longer than it used to, and half of the time it either doesn't even copy or copied the thing I previously had saved, not the current one. I use my iPad/MBA to take a LOT of notes and this is breaking my flow, is this something that has been popping up for anyone? Does anyone know if it'll get better in 27?

I’m going back and forth between trading in to upgrade or keep chugging along with this one.
I’ve had my IPad Air 4th gen since launch and with it turning 6 years old, I’ve noticed that I have to charge it multiple times a day and it’s generally slow-especially if I navigate on safari or apps.
However, I primarily use my iPad as a TV essentially with YouTube/netflix. It still holds up in that regard (minus having to charge it minimum 2 times day sometimes 3-4 times a day if it’s a long binge watch type of day)
If in my position, hold for another year or trade in for M4 IPad Air?

Hey everyone,
I have an 11-inch iPad Pro with the M2 chip, and it currently has around 91% battery health. It has 128 GB of storage, with more than half of it still free. It also has 8 GB of RAM.
I use Low Power Mode basically all the time, because otherwise it’s really difficult for the battery to last through an entire day. I know that Low Power Mode limits ProMotion to 60 Hz and reduces performance. I would obviously prefer to use the full 120 Hz and the M2’s full performance, but battery life is important to me.
The problem is that my iPad sometimes feels quite laggy even when I’m using very lightweight apps.
The most noticeable example is when I’m using my 2nd-generation Apple Pencil with Notability. When I’m writing, the strokes can sometimes appear with what feels like almost a one-second delay. It feels less like simply going from 120 Hz to 60 Hz and more like actual input lag or stuttering, which is really annoying when taking notes.
However, I also occasionally notice smaller amounts of lag even when Low Power Mode is turned off. It’s not nearly as bad, but the occasional stutter is still noticeable.
I’ve only experienced something similar on a friend’s 10th-generation iPad, which obviously has considerably less performance than the M2 iPad Pro.
So I’m wondering:
Is this normal behavior for an M2 iPad Pro, especially in Low Power Mode? Or could something else be causing it?
Could it be related to the 8 GB of RAM, battery health, iPadOS, Notability, Apple Pencil input, or something else?
Is there anything I can do to reduce or fix the lag?
Thanks!

I’m planning on buying an iPad 9th gen in late 2026. I’d mostly use it for school stuff like canva and google docs with some light gaming on the side. What I’m worried about is the OS support since I plan on keeping it for 3-4 years. What are your experiences using it?

I have
Both the paper like screen cleaner, and Whoosh screen shine, I feel like whoosh cleans better, but I still feel like my screen protector is getting smoother. There’s also a whole lot of scuff marks from my knob and I’m not sure if the screen protector is just being worn down or if there’s a bunch of oils trapped inside. I recently switched to paper like brand Apple Pencil nibs, i’m also debating if I should change mine screen protector in case the one I currently have is worn down.
Thoughts and advice?

When I open the file under Icloud downloads, it seems to be blank with just the name in the center. Is there a way to fix this issue?

late to the party…I had no idea the new ipads did this (i just retired my old ipad air 2)!! I should of bought a used older ipad pro. Complete shocker that it cannot be disabled so the orientation of volume stays the same.
Apple, why do you not only design against my muscle memory but make it more complicated that muscle memory alone cannot learn it?
When iPad is laying down w screen off in bed i have no idea (listening audio books/music) which orientation its in. Seriously what the F were they thinking!! Fix this apple!! (Sorry if this has been discussed at length, just joined this to write this, want my voice added so maybe apple can wake the F up).
For those of you who found this entirely disruptive, did you ever get used to it to a point where you appreciate or it stops disrupting you? Or does it still make you confused after all this time? How do you feel about it after a year or 3?
Im sure I’ll retrain at least partially for this one device (effing stupid), but i cant fathom how this issue doesn’t trip me up occasionally. Might as well remove the volume buttons 🤬

I can't find a way to fix this problem for some reason. I tried searching but found nothing .
Every time I try pressing on personal information or sign-in and security, the authentication failed message appears, and when pressing on sign in with apple, the cannot connect to iCloud message appears.
I hope someone can help me with this🙏
Edit: problem solved! Just needed to get a stronger network

Apple’s Universal Clipboard is great when you want to move the latest thing you copied between nearby devices.
But it is not a searchable clipboard history.
If you copied a link on your Mac yesterday, saved a file on your iPhone, or need something from another device hours later, you often end up sending it to yourself through Messages, Notes, email, or AirDrop.
I create Pasly to make your clipboard history follow you across iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
Raycast Clipboard History is a polished option on Mac and is part of a much broader launcher with extensions, AI tools, and other productivity features.
Pasly is focused specifically on clipboard and paste workflows across Apple devices. It keeps a persistent, searchable history across Macs, iPhone, and iPad using the user’s private CloudKit database.
Apple’s Universal Clipboard primarily transfers the latest copied item between nearby devices. Pasly keeps an actual history that can remain available later, even when your devices are not nearby or connected to the same network.
On Mac, Pasly also includes Smart Paste, Paste Stack, Field Sense, multi-selection, and file workflows. On iPhone and iPad, the focus is saving, finding, copying, and sharing items from a native mobile interface.
iOS does not allow third-party apps to silently monitor everything copied in other apps.
Instead, Pasly lets you add content through:
You can save text, links, images, and files on your iPhone or iPad and access them from your other Apple devices.
Items arriving from another device can also appear through push notifications and Live Activities on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island. From there, you can quickly copy or share the latest item.
Because iOS controls background execution, sync may not always complete immediately while the app is closed. The Live Activity can still notify you about incoming content, and opening Pasly catches the history up.
Pasly stores synced clipboard content in the private CloudKit database associated with your iCloud account.
Pasly does not operate its own storage server for your clipboard data.
Your devices need to use the same iCloud account for the private CloudKit history to sync between them.
Files are uploaded as actual CloudKit assets, rather than references to the original device. Once a file has finished uploading, the source Mac or iPhone does not need to remain online for another device to download it.
Files up to 10 MB are downloaded automatically. Larger files remain available to download when needed.
The Mac version also includes:
My goal is for Pasly to stay out of the way until the moment you need something you copied.
Mac: - Smart Paste - Paste Stack - Floating Paste - Multi Select - Field Sense
No subscription.
Code MACAPPSCLOUD gives 20% off for the first 20 redemptions.
Pricing and download: https://pasly.app
One of my main focuses is making the iPhone and iPad to Mac flow even faster while respecting the restrictions iOS places on clipboard access and background execution.
I am also exploring deeper Shortcuts integration for automatically sending content created inside personal automations to Pasly.
What would make a cross-device clipboard history genuinely useful in your iPhone or iPad workflow?

Transparency: I’m the developer of Pasly.

Is my Ipad alright?
My network seems to be working perfectly on other apps. Though even for a small app it would take 21 minutes to download on the App Store.
I already tried resetting my network settings.
