First post here but long time lover of jank in edh.

I'm looking to emulate an effect from hearthstone. Alexstraza has an effect that when you play it you set a target player's life total to fifteen.

Does anyone have any ideas as to how to achieve an effect similar to this in MTG, and if so how I can build around it in a multiplayer format where it loses some of the strength it has in 1v1?

I have an Orvar the all form deck. It's pretty hated because of course he can be super hard to deal with. I'd like to rebuild this deck to be more fun and strange, looking for people's thoughts on fun or wacky colorless or blue ETB triggers. Less game winners and more shenanigans ideally. Thanks!

Attempting to finish the 32 deck challenge.  Thought of letting the community  build it. just recommend a card and its in. I only request the suggested card be less than $10 usd. Once finished, the deck will be an everchanging deck. The winner of the game it plays in, other than me, gets to replace any nonland card. I will adjust the land base to allow the deck to be "playable" Also, please only one card per person, per platform. I wanna make this deck as janky and random as possible.

I'm trying to build a deck with the most powerful cards, but where they all pretty much are anti-synergy with each other so that the deck is actually horrible. Voltron commander but with no equipment or auras. Life gain win condition with no way to gain life Kalia, but no angels, demons or dragons. Affinity with no artifacts.

Those are all the "easy" examples. I want to see if I can push that concept to the limit. Obviously this is a bracket 1 concept.

Hey I wanted to ask if anybody has ideas for a commander deck that feels different every game

For example I have a \[\[Jin Sakai, Ghost of Tsushima\]\]

Deck with the theme of stealing on dealing combat damage my opponents hand or Deck cards , I love this deck because it always has new and different cards I can play with and my opponents also find it enjoyable

For playing with their cards

I also wanted to try a Polymorph deck with random Big creatures that are either beneficial for me or detrimental (depending on board state) still unsure if I would find this deck enjoyable long-term.

Do you guys have any other creative ideas that are still atleast bracket 2 ?

(Please no dice and coin toss decks, I have seen them , and they seem very tedious after a while 😅 nothing against the players tho)

I would like some advice on this deck list. I haven't played magic in years but my current partner plays so I figured why not. I built mono blue as that is what I used to play back in the day circa early 2000s. I'm worried Im working off a 20 year old mindset though and any advice would be appreciated. I watched some you tube videos to catch but without context I am not sure if they helped me or hurt me in terms of deck construction.

Let me know if this breaks any group rules. I want to make the dirtiest, grungiest, most C movie level commander deck. I don’t plan on sleeving it. The cards will be loose in a VHS tape case. This deck will be Hobo With A Shotgun. Give me all your worst (best) ideas to make a deck worthy of Rutger Hauer’s titular character! Who will be the best Hobo commander?!

I'm looking for cards that cause exponential growth. Not excessive linear growth like doublers, but exponential. Like do a specific thing that involves counting stuff that the thing does. Like [[orroboroid]] with +1/+1 counters, [[Krenko, Mob Boss]] or [[shroofus sproutsire]] with tokens, like [[scute swarm]] or [[Scouring Swarm]] for land shenanigans.

I have been stewing on a deck that was a just walls/ defensive creatures. I want to voltron them so when I don’t attack and get attacked they are also doing damage too. I have a playset of just about every wall in the game. I was thinking of a commander that relies heavily on equipment and auras to help out my walls.

I just don’t know where to look.

Red and black more auras for my opponents

Built a Monster Hunter themed deck, focusing deathtouch, hunters/monsters, and waring my opponents down. Looking for some cool Golgari Hunters and Big Monsters to put in!

So, with the MCB spoilers teased, I seen many people gravitating to the strong commanders released in that particular set. One particular commander within the set I've seen constantly disregarded as "Jank" was the unluckiest planes walker. Of course, this commander was bound to not be as strong as other enchantment commanders, but to disregard it as completely unplayable really stroke a nerve with me. This dude has been such a fun character in the lore, that I feel like he deserves some decks to be made.

**The deck archetype**

Essentially this is a control deck. His **+1** allows you to add any color casting auras, which means you don't have to waste land slots with adding plains, as long as the specific auras you want to cast has only one other color needed to cast that enchantment. For this deck I decided that Boros would be the best because it provides auras that could slow down your opponent's such as \[\[Pacifism\]\] and \[\[Forced Worship\]\]. When building this deck, I was mindful of the key weakness from red, such as lack of protection. Besides adding the few red counterspells that could be provided within the color, I also added a few political auras such as \[\[Battle Mastery\]\] to help negotiate. Overall, this will allow you to shut down opponents' creatures and do what control decks do best.

**Discard**

Now this is where things get spicy. People were saying how his **-3** were purely Jank because why would you want to attach bad auras to yourself. But what people are missing is that you don't have to attach those auras to yourself! you can enchant other opponents and creatures, and while you control those auras, they aren't attached to you. So instead, you can use that **-3** as a draw and discard engine. By using madness creatures such as \[\[Anje's ravager\]\] you can still cheat out creatures that were discarded. But that isn't even the focus on that ability, you can use creatures like \[\[Glint-Horn Buccaneer\]\] and \[\[Magmakin artillerist\]\] to burn your opponents while you discard.

**Conclusion**

I was pretty open of \[\[The Unluckiest Planeswalker\]\] not being the best enchantment commander. Of course, you could play those stronger enchantress commanders, but I do believe that I did in fact made something playable for the few enjoyers of this guy.
