Let's be real. Trying to cram every Fox X-Men movie into a single, straight timeline is a lost cause (the ages don't make sense, characters die and come back and changes entirely, etc.).

But after watching Deadpool & Wolverine again and applying some basic logic, the only way everything makes sense without breaking your brain is if we treat the Fox saga as a Multiverse with 5 distinct branches. Hear me out:

1. The Trunk Line (The "Logan" Universe)

• Movies: X-Men 1, X2, X3, The Wolverine, Logan (2029).
• Why: This is the pure, original guard timeline. No First Class included to avoid the 1973 paradox. Mutants stopped being born here in 2004. It ends in 2029 with Logan dying to save Laura and the new generation of mutants. This Logan is the TVA's "Anchor Being"..

2. The DOFP Line (The Rewrite)

• Movies: First Class, 1973 (Mystique kills Trask), Original Trilogy and DOFP (2023 Dystopia).
• Why: (Quick note: time travel in the Fox universe works strictly by 'Back to the Future' rules —rewriting the timeline— NOT 'Avengers: Endgame' rules). This branch DOES have the 1973 trigger. Logan goes back, stops Trask's assassination, and rewrites the future on its own track. He wakes up in a peaceful 2023 with Jean, Scott, and a school full of mutant kids (which proves this is a different branch from Logan). Happy ending.

3. The Prequels Line (Isolated Universe)

• Movies: Apocalypse (1983) and Dark Phoenix (1992).
• Why: These have to happen in their own branch because the math just doesn't work. The actors go 30 years without aging, and the events heavily contradict the original trilogy.

4. The Spin-Off Line

• Movie: X-Men Origins: Wolverine (1979).
• Why: Completely separate reality. The Emma Frost and Deadpool we see here don't fit anywhere else in the franchise. Deadpool is an adult in 1979 (born in the 1950s). In the 2016 Deadpool movie, Wade is in his 30s (born in the late 70s/80s). Since DOFP only alters events after 1973, changing Wade’s birth decade is a paradox. They must be separate branches from the start.

5. The Deadpool Universe (The Ultimate Fix)

• Movies: Deadpool 1, DP2 and Deadpool & Wolverine.
• Why: Wade lives in his own branch (where he uses Cable's time machine for micro-rewrites without erasing his own movie). In D&W, the TVA tells him his world is dying because the Logan from Line 1 (the Anchor Being) died.

How D&W fixes it logically:

Deadpool's universe didn't have its own Wolverine. So Wade travels to Line 1, confirms Logan is dead, and goes to the Void with "The Worst Wolverine" (yellow suit) and reunites with Laura (X-23).

Why was Laura in the Void? Probably after saving the kids in 2029 (Line 1), her story was "done" and the TVA pruned her.

At the end, Wade takes this Wolverine variant and Laura to live in his universe.

• The Result: Deadpool's universe gets a new Anchor Being. Laura (Probably) gets a new family instead of returning to a 2029. And the tragic ending of Logan (2017) remains untouched.

TL;DR: The Fox universe is a 5-branch multiverse. By bringing Laura and the Yellow Suit Wolverine into his own reality, Deadpool saves his world while completely respecting the original Logan's sacrifice.

I started Loki last year, watched two episodes, and dropped it. This year I went back, did all of season 1, and finished season 2 this week.

That finale left me with a bunch of questions I didn't have answers for. The branching, the variants, the TVA sitting outside of time. I couldn't place any of it against everything else in the MCU. So I went reading to try and sort it out, like everybody does. Blogs, wikis, timeline posts, the usual rabbit hole.

I found some good stuff. There's a Marvel Story Map on DeviantArt that's basically a dense poster. ScreenRant covered an infographic of the whole multiverse that made the branching click for me. The Ultimate MCU Watch Order on Letterboxd is the one I'd send to someone starting from zero. Lucen has a chart that lays the phases against the actual chronology, and the Fandom timeline has everything if you're willing to dig.

It was all static though, and I wanted to move it around, poke at it, click on things, and I couldn't. That's where the idea came from.

It's one big canvas you drag and zoom around, with everything on it and lines running between the things that actually connect. Hover over anything and its threads light up while the rest fades back, so you can see at a glance what that story touches. Click it and a panel opens with the context of what it is, plus the full list of what it leads to and what it came from, and every one of those is clickable, so you can keep pulling the thread and the map follows you. You can also flip the whole thing between in-universe order and release order, which is worth messing with because the two are wildly different.

Just got done watching Thor the dark world and currently on TWS. I wanted to ask if I should watch the original Endgame or encore once I get to those movies.

Given that Strange had seen through over 14 million futures, get for some reason didn’t just simply warn Star Lord to keep his cool, I can only assume that Thanos somehow would have beaten them even without the gauntlet and taken it back (which wouldn’t really make sense since Strange can just portal them and the gauntlet away once they take it off, there’s no reason to even continue fighting Thanos afterwards), or for some reason it was impossible to prevent Star Lord from blowing it

After rewatching Eternals. Yes I get wasn’t super comic book accurate and the wasn’t the greatest fights…. But personally I think back looking at it again it wasn’t that bad of movie would people want to see a second one?

The MCU has an abundance of deleted scenes, some that were unnecessary, some that actually strengthen some of the story/plot/characters of their respective movies, or just jokey/gags that were never meant to be in the film in the first place.

This is the 6th deleted scene that I've found, from Thor. One of my personal favorite deleted scenes from the MCU. Thor and Loki has a simple conversation before Thor is crowned King of Asgard. In this deleted scene, you will find Thor and Loki banter at each other like any normal siblings would. Joking around while still being sincere. My favorite parts of this deleted scene is that when Thor is joking with Loki that "some do battles, others just do tricks", the guard/servant laughs at Thor's joke. Loki instantly makes him regret that turns the wine into snakes, scaring the guard/servant. I love how Thor is just so nonchalant towards it and is just upset that Loki just wasted some fine wine as they watch the servant scatter to pick up the remnants. My other favorite part is Loki's sentiment: "You are my brother and my friend. Sometimes I'm envious, but never doubt that I love you."

If you listen closely in the beginning, you can actually hear Thor shouting out "Another!" when finishing his drink.

I don't know why they cut this scene. It shows the complexity of Thor and Loki's relationship and shows that Loki's love (and by extent, jealousy) of Thor is genuine. It shows their brotherly love. Their relationship before Loki turns evil and they become enemies was cut way too short. There should've been more scenes like this. It's also a really nice opposite of the Elevator Scene in Thor: Ragnorak. I could go all day long about this scene. I love it, their friendship/brothership chemistry is out of this world, it's so special and it sucks that they put it on the cutting room floor.

He literally has years of experience as a fighter and even leader, if he's the one who has always been leading Asgardian warriors in battle.

So, for example -Why isn't he the Avenger's leader in combat instead of Captain America or Tony?

Could he even be considered better of a fighter than Black Widow or Daredevil due to his experience?

This almost reminds me of how the Doctor from Doctor Who sometimes solves problems simply based on his long experience and many encounters with other alien races. So like -Wouldn't it be logical for Thor to be that but in terms of combat and even martial arts?

21 year old actor Noah Jupe has reportedly been cast in Secret Wars.

He’s more than likely going to be the new Ice Man, Nova, or The Beyonder… BUT he is 5’4“ and has already played a love interest opposite Sadie Sink.

If he is the new MCU Logan/Wolverine what are your thoughts?

All I got to say is what a change and makeover man both physically and also character wise. We can definitely tell apart the 2016 Peter and 2026 Peter. Props for the good writing for his character

Anyone notice how in Tony's vision hawkeye is the only one that's alive?

He looks like the classic anti hero, will he, won’t he kinda guy. What I can guess might happen is they go to Namor for help, he bitches about this or that and refuses only to later come and help.

Why I think this might happen is A he has a massive army. In his own word “ I’ve more soldiers than blade of grass in your country “, B he is still an anti hero even at the end of wakanda forever ( RIP Chadwick Boseman but boy the fight scene between him and Namor would have been legendary ).

I’ve recently watched this movie in the theatre so my memory is very fresh in terms of what the first impact the movie made for me.

Now to introduce myself I am a genuine Spider-Man fan and I have a deep knowledge of the universe. I would say I am familiar with like 60-70% of the universe considering I’ve yet to actually read one of the comics but besides that I’ve consumed most of the content, I’m talking all the movies, Insomniacs Marvel’s Spider-Man / -Miles Morales (not 2 though). So I’m generally interested in this character and the universe.

I want to somewhat structure this review so I don’t repeat myself. I want to talk about the visuals, the characters and the plot.

Starting off with the visuals, I am absolutely stunned by the straight up beauty of the film, the compositions of the shots, the color grading, the action sequences were top notch. To be honest, I thought I’d only see this kind of combat in video games but this movie definitely proved me wrong. The set designs and the costumes were also excellent, Spider-Man’s suit was seriously phenomenal.

Continuing with the characters, I wasn’t quite as happy with them as I was with the visuals. For starters, apart from Spider-Man himself, I felt an imbalance on how the characters were weighted in terms of how important they were for the plot. I would even go as far as saying that I didn’t like some of the characters that were shown in the movie and that they could’ve just not include them at all, one of them being Yelena. Now to be fair I haven’t watched thunderbolts so I might be wrong but as far as I know, Spider-Man had no way of knowing her in the first place. If you think about it, the thunderbolts movie took place in nyc, where Peter resides, so I think it would be too wrong to assume that Spider-Man must’ve somehow made contact with one of them or something like that, yet I don’t think he appeared in the thunderbolts movie (correct me if I’m wrong), which means for me he wouldn’t even know who yelena was in the first place. I know the producers can’t account for every single small detail but like that just proves my point I believe, that we didn’t need her appearance in the movie and that it just caused more confusion for people who aren’t familiar with that character. Also I found her dialog with Spider-Man kind of corny, like wdym big potato stuff small potato stuff like you’re not captain america or so like stay on your level.

One character I wasn’t too happy about either was Bruce Banner. Now I definitely liked his appearance as Professor banner don’t get me wrong, I think they nailed that scene but from what I think, they should have left his arc right there, like I think all the stuff that happened later with Jean were just unnecessary, like they brought him, just for like 5 minutes without even a real purpose. Also I kinda didn’t understand how he was like a human in the first place like he was smart hulk in endgame and I understand that he found a way to like keep the monster inside of him but you’re telling me he found a way to be the hulk without causing chaos in endgame, but couldn’t keep that posture now? And alright we accepted he is savage hulk or so, he barely did any damage, neither to Peter nor to NY. I thought that was the only real thing the hulk could do. I mean I at least expected like a building to collapse or that Peter breaks himself something or so but literally nothing happened.

I really liked the Punisher, there’s not much to say about him, he was everything I wanted, he served a nice bromance kind of thing with Peter, he was funny in his own way, genuinely no negativity on his part.

I want to rate Ned and Mj together, I think those two needed a more effecting role in the movie than they already had. I mean we got like 25 minutes I believe where Peter talked to them and stuff and I actually don’t even know what I wanted more tbh but like I couldn’t like really emotional connect if that makes sense. Especially in the scene where Mj found out, I imagined that scene much differently, I feel like they tried to play it safe there, but I wasn’t really touched or something after or during their conversation but maybe that’s just on me. Overall I’ve would have wanted them to have more of an importance then some other character…

Now Peter was actually good, I really liked him in this movie, we saw his struggles, his evolution, generally I think that’s the best Peter Parker/Spider-Man we got from Tom Holland. However what still scratches my head is how he managed to afford all his high tech equipment.. like I don’t have anything against him having all this ai software and stuff cause like let’s be honest Peter is damn smart he could figure something out but still all the things he runs these stuff on costs money, which he obviously doesn’t have but I think that’s something I’d let slide.

Now to the elephant in the room Jean Grey. I think Jean was a really well written character with her own struggles and stuff. I think her powers were beautifully portrayed in this movie with all the mind control stuff. However the good stuff end there for me. I think she was not a good antagonist, not that she played bad but overall she didn’t fit in this scenario in my opinion. First off, her stuff against Spider-Man didn’t make any sense considering they don’t even know themselves whatsoever. All the V-Max plot was kind of lame as soon as you found out what it stood for, her going on absolute terror rampages with like tanks and stuff was absolutely unnecessary in my opinion considering she only wanted to find her sister, and most importantly, that she faced basically no consequences for her actions, I’m not even talking about what she did to NY necessarily but rather how she treated Peter, like she played with his feelings and like broke his heart and you’re telling me Peter just let that slide? I don’t know man..

Also a major criticism I have regarding her character, which doesn’t even have to do with what she does, is the question: why is a X-Men character introduced in a Spider-Man movie? Like I would understand if she’d played a smallish role and we got to know her along the way but like we genuinely got a Phoenix origin story in a Spider-Man movie. Like come on. Ironically, there is a new X-Men movie planned for 2027 or something which sounds like the perfect first movie for a Jean Grey if you ask me. Like was there no other villain left so that they had to settle with a mutant? And that the fact that the second half of the film basically turned around her and what happened to her and so instead of Spider-Man fixing his relationship with his friends or so felt kind of wrong to me.

After all the characters, I want to talk about the overall plot. The thing is, the plot is heavily connected to the characters therefore  I do have some negative aspects for this one too. Now to be fair I actually thought the plot was rather okay, like it wasn’t boring or there weren’t too many mistakes or such, but rather why they chose this kind of plot really stressed me. First off, this somewhat has to do with Jean Grey but not entirely, there was no real ‘villain’ in that sense. Like there was no one who was against Spider-Man or hated him or something. Now you might say Jean Grey was that person, but I think this conflict with Jean and Peter were so forced like it didn’t even make sense, Spider-Man didn’t even know Jean like at all and Jean didn’t even see Spider-Man in any way before, like what could Spider-Man have possibly done to idk make her mad? Her problem was with the service or whatever they’re called. I feel like they could have used any other villain then Jean, although I know that No way Home kind of took that aspect away, since they basically mass cleared out several of the OG villains but anyway, there should be enough villains they could have used in my opinion. It also didn’t help that all the media, for me for example Vetzmovies and doomblazer, were always talking about this ‘grounded, street-level’ Spider-Man story with no multiverse stuff. I don’t know about you but when I hear something like this, I’d rather think of a movie like Tobey Maguires Spider-Man 2 or heck even the story in Insomniacs Spider-Man, but not what we’ve got in Brand new day.

I’m sure I could go on and on and go into every single detail but these are the main things that came into my mind.

So overall I’d sumerize my experience as disappointing, since I’ve received stuff I didn’t really care about or in other words, didn’t get some stuff I’d wish for a Spider-Man movie.

I’d also want to emphasize that this is just my opinion and I’d totally understand people who’d say they totally enjoyed the movie or so, so with that being said, please let me know your thoughts on this, if you agree or disagree or if you fell completely differently, I’d love to discuss this if yall want.

To me, this was the best friendships we had in the MCU (rivaling Tony & Rhodes, and Steve & Bucky).

It really brought it full-circle when Loki refused to shake Mobius’s hand when they first met, and then Loki was the one initiating the gesture after seeking advice.

Makes it all the sadder that Loki will spend eternity alone with his ‘glorious purpose’. (I hope he survives Doomsday & Secret Wars)

Do you think this is a good essential list, especially if my goal is to understand the MCU and be ready for Avengers: Doomsday?

Are there any movies/shows here that you think I could safely skip, or any essential ones I’m missing? Or change of order?

I’d really appreciate your honest opinions — especially from people who have watched the whole MCU.

Norman's goblin formula made him far stronger than any MCU super soldier and yes it has the insanity side effect but it's not guaranteed given Harry didn't become crazy (and MCU super serums also have a similar effect where they enhance bad traits of the subject)

Otto on the other hand created his mechanical arms which are so strong they were evenly matched with Spider-Man wearing the Iron Spider, a suit created by Tony Stark himself

Not to mention both are knowledgeable in nanotechnology which in the MCU was only available until Infinity War (Banner didn't know what nanotechnology was when he saw Iron Man suit up in IW while Otto immediately recognized it in NWH) so all in all Raimiverse was actually quite advanced technologically speaking
